Xiao Wen, a powerful body cultivator from the Huaxia people, had been introduced to Xiao Yefeng by his parents, but there were still things he did not know. Just as he opened the back door to lay her down safely inside the car, a gunshot rang out—bullets struck his open car door with a loud bang. The bullet ricocheted off the glass several times before leaving a white mark and falling uselessly to the ground.
Xiao Yefeng caught the fallen bullet with his hand and gently closed the car door. The empty road remained devoid of any figures; however, he knew someone was hiding in the bushes nearby. He hadn't expected them to shoot directly at him while he was trying to help this woman.

After the noise, Xiao Yefeng stood beside the car, having grabbed the knife-wielding man behind him. The gunman, Nose Ring Guy, looked utterly shocked, while the two men behind him stared wide-eyed at the metallic object glinting under the car's headlights. Everything seemed to be paused in that moment.
"Are you human or ghost?" the gunman exclaimed in disbelief.
"Big brother! He must have injected the Divine Elixir like your big brother! We should run!" one of the men standing behind Nose Ring Guy suggested.
"Yeah, big brother, let’s get out of here! Our guns can't even hurt him!" another chimed in.
At that moment, Nose Ring Guy said, "Run? What nonsense! That woman is reckless and doesn’t know when to quit. The Catcher is in his hands; he’s the boss's brother. If he gets caught by the cops while that woman is still alive, how can we three go back without facing consequences? Quickly contact the knife! He’s nearby; as long as he makes a move, we can retrieve both the Catcher and that woman!"
Afterward, one of his men began making a phone call. Meanwhile, Xiao Yefeng pulled the man he had grabbed closer and questioned him. The captured man attempted to swing his dagger at Xiao Yefeng but was met with a flick of Xiao Yefeng's finger that sent the dagger flying. Then Xiao Yefeng asked, "Why are you trying to kill this woman?"

Then, a man wearing a gray scarf around his neck came running from afar, clearly the one who had thrown the knife. Yet all of this was still within Xiao Yefeng's calculations; this fool was expendable and served perfectly to test the strength of the newcomer.
Long before Nose Ring Guy fired his gun, Xiao Yefeng had sensed someone approaching. However, they were too far away to arrive in time.
