At this moment, both of them had nearly exhausted their strength. Xiao Yeshin glanced at the wound on his chest and declared, "You have lost!"
"On what grounds?" Xiao Yefeng retorted, spitting out a mouthful of blood. However, with that single act, he seemed to alleviate some of his pain.
Both fighters appeared to have forgotten the man in white who had appeared beside them. Xiao Yeshin continued, "You no longer have a sword in your hand! But I do!"
Suddenly, a long sword forged from Inspiration lunged toward Xiao Yefeng's heart. Xiao Yefeng barely managed to shift his body just in time to avoid a fatal blow. His heart was racing, yet with each beat, it brushed against the golden sword.
Xiao Yefeng's sword pierced through Xiao Yeshin's heart, but Xiao Yeshin's sword did not find its mark. At this point, neither could muster the strength to attack the other; the battle had reached its conclusion. Just then, Flawless White approached and said, "Alright! You will come back with me to face punishment!"
"Punishment! I have no more chances!" As he spoke, the God of Sorcery swiftly drew the Spirit Light Sword from within Xiao Yefeng's body. The blade turned and aimed for Xiao Yefeng's forehead. He knew that striking the heart again would be futile; his only chance was to pierce through Xiao Yefeng's skull directly.
Despite Flawless White possessing unimaginable power and authority, he could not prevent Xiao Yeshin's actions in that fleeting moment. As Xiao Yefeng attempted to draw his sword in defense, he realized that the Yin-Yang Sword was firmly locked within his own body. Xiao Yeshin understood that he could not survive, so he had no intention of escaping. Knowing that his Dao Heart meridian had already shattered, he resolved to make full use of what remained.
Using the contraction of his heart to grip the Yin-Yang Sword tightly, Xiao Yefeng struggled to pull it free while Xiao Yeshin’s heart fought to hold onto the blade. The pain was unimaginable, yet at that moment, Flawless White saw that in his heart, Xiao Yefeng had already lost. There was no time left for a counterattack, nor enough time for him to extract the Yin-Yang Sword.
Xiao Yeshin saw a glimmer of hope despite his spirit fracturing along with his heart meridian. He had achieved his goal of taking down Xiao Yefeng alongside him. In the past, he would never have considered such an outcome; after all, he was a revered figure among gods while Xiao Yefeng was merely an ant from a Low-Level Dimension.
Yet this ant had destroyed everything for him. Even a tiny pebble pushed by this ant set off a chain reaction that led to the premature start and end of the War of Gods and Demons, resulting in this once-great deity being ruthlessly abandoned.
In that moment of brilliance, he caught sight of the fierce light in Xiao Yefeng's eyes. The deity was puzzled; you are about to become my fallen soul beneath my sword and my companion in death—what does that look in your eyes mean? Amidst the radiance, he noticed Flawless White behind him and saw confusion reflected in Flawless White’s gaze—shock mingled with a hint of relief.
Realizing this made him aware of why he was looking back at Flawless White. As his blurred vision continued to sweep across the scene, he saw himself holding the Spirit Light Sword—specifically, his headless body.
How could this happen! Xiao Yefeng was just like him, unable to summon any power. Flawless White was nowhere near; who had severed his head? Was it Xiao Yefeng?
At that moment, the last flicker of vision for Xiao Yeshin confirmed it! Because at that moment, Xiao Yefeng held a short sword embedded with a silver gem in his left hand, with a drop of unfallen blood still on it.
Impossible! How could he possess a divine-grade short sword? He shouldn't have one! Wasn't the Yin-Yang Sword still plunged into his heart? With the last remnants of his consciousness, he looked down at his chest. Indeed, the Yin-Yang Sword was still embedded there; however, it was a hollow blade, with six gems set into it still lodged in his heart. The short sword that had severed his head, slightly shorter than the Yin-Yang Sword, was drawn from within this sword.
With this final flicker of awareness, he heavily closed his eyes. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng also sheathed the short sword back into its hilt, reuniting the Yin-Yang Sword. Supported by the hilt, Xiao Yefeng stood firm amidst the chaotic battlefield. As the rising sun illuminated him, both Flawless White and the others who had arrived couldn't help but feel a sense of awe.
This battle held many unsolved mysteries, yet they all had reasonable explanations. Xiao Yefeng had consumed the Star Insight Pill, completing the refinement of the Stellar Body. In an instant, he fulfilled the request of Cheap Brother, also known as Flawless White, taking over as Earth's guardian. Thus, his power was assimilated by Stellar Power, elevating him to a level far beyond that of Xiao Yeshin, allowing him to crush him.
However, in the end, when the God of Sorcery broke through the Dimension to arrive on Earth, it was under the infusion of Stellar Power that the seals on the Yin-Yang Sword, Bagua Mirror, and Seven Star Needle were lifted. These three items, along with the already unsealed Soul Bell by Xiao Yeshin, were originally owned by the Divine Position Jade Tablet, belonging to the ancestors of the Xiao Family. After being unsealed, the Bagua Mirror should have been named the Bagua Linglong Armor. However, after undergoing infusion from Stellar Power, it had completely transformed into armor exclusive to Xiao Yefeng.
The Seven Star Needle consisted of seven gems embedded atop the Yin-Yang Sword, six set in the outer blade (the Yang blade), while the silver gem was set in the inner blade (the Yin blade), which was also the short sword that severed the god's head at a critical moment!
With armor transformed from the Bagua Mirror and a powerful body granted by Beastification, Xiao Yefeng ultimately ended the battle with a sudden strike. Yet, battles never cease; as long as life endures, fighting continues!
The clash between Xiao Yefeng and Xiao Yeshin altered landscapes and flattened everything around Evil Mountain. The laboratory that once stood there had long been reduced to rubble. Now, two months had passed since that pivotal battle that changed Earth's fate.
During these two months, Xiao Yefeng remained in deep slumber. Yet humanity is remarkably adept at adapting; the shock from that battle became mere fodder for casual conversation. Once they realized they were no longer in danger, everything returned to normal. However, humanity has never ceased fighting since they descended from trees.
The immense crisis looming over everyone had ended; however, this did not mean Earth would become an indivisible whole. Everyone harbors selfish desires; yet those desires are instinctively hidden when life is at stake. Now that danger has passed, some individuals began their own schemes once more.
Yet that's how humanity is—constantly making choices among various options. Some may think that once a choice is made and they realize it was wrong, correcting it is futile. However, it's like driving a nail into a trunk; can you simply pull it out and pretend nothing ever happened? Everything has its own trajectory; even if mistakes are corrected, those errors once existed!
Just like today's Earth, which once lost the Eastern New Forces and faced the emergence of the more terrifying Dark Council, the Perfect World was born. When the Perfect World disappeared, new dark forces would inevitably arise. However, for Xiao Yefeng, this was all temporarily irrelevant.
After being brought back to Huaxia, Flawless White had already departed. During the two months of slumber that followed, Xiao Yefeng focused on repairing his condition and organizing all his memories. At this point, Xiao Yefeng had taken over Flawless White's position, with a tenure of two hundred years, responsible for overseeing everything on Earth. In other words, it was his duty to ensure that no one from the Low-Level Plane could sneak in.
This task was quite favorable for Xiao Yefeng, especially since he still had children and Earth remained fragile. The threat from the Low-Level Dimension still lingered, and it seemed that certification for the Intermediate Plane had yet to be achieved.
On another note, Earth had regained its tranquility. It appeared that the battle between Xiao Yefeng and Xiao Yeshin had made many factions on Earth realize that human potential is limitless. The reckless exploitation of genetics to develop human capabilities was akin to killing the goose that laid the golden eggs—dangerous and ultimately meaningless research had come to a halt. The road to technological advancement remained long; however, regardless of how powerful technology became, the most crucial element remained humanity itself, as demonstrated by the confrontation between Xiao Yefeng and Xiao Yeshin.
Either of them was an unimaginably powerful existence. Yet, no weapon developed through technology had been able to harm them thus far. Consequently, nations were now researching the limits of human capabilities. The new humans were becoming the mainstay of the Technological Era. Nevertheless, Earth's combat model had begun to take shape, drawing upon various powers of these new humans and enhancing them with technological weapons.
If elite warriors could freely venture into outer space, Earth's status would surely rise. During his period of slumber, Xiao Yefeng's Spirit visited Yin Si. The road ahead for Earth was still long; however, at least before Earth entered the Intermediate Plane, it should not face threats from external Dimensions. Yet due to the death of the God of Sorcery in the Low-Level Plane, the techniques he established had fallen into others' hands.
Loyal followers of the God of Sorcery still existed, and conspiracies against Earth would continue; everything needed to unfold in the future. The task Xiao Yefeng received in Yin Si was simply to pass his term peacefully.
At this moment in Xiao Yefeng's home, he lay calmly on his bed while Consort Mi prepared dinner. Liu Yiyi was in another room caring for four individuals who lay motionless in bed just like Xiao Yefeng.
"Alright, madam! We're leaving now; we'll be here on time tomorrow!" After covering her assigned patient with a blanket, one of the four women in their fifties said to Liu Yiyi.
Liu Yiyi smiled and replied, "Thank you all for your hard work! I hope you ladies can come here on time tomorrow to take care of them! Thank you!"
