In the show "Confessions," did those who confessed truly repent? The man before us is someone who could have CCTV produce two episodes about him. In the program, he was locked up in prison and hailed as a “Reemployment Expert.” This Model was a wayward son who turned his life around after being released, becoming wealthy through aquaculture.
However, who would have thought that just two months after the show aired, he brutally murdered his girlfriend and even involved his nephew in the crime? He did not fulfill the grand ambitions he expressed on the program.

Location: Various places in Sichuan.
In Hanshui Town, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, there was a middle-aged woman named Yang Meiling. In 2013, at the age of 37, Yang Meiling was thriving in the business of breeding soft-shelled turtles, becoming a well-known figure in Sichuan Province. Yet this capable and attractive woman mysteriously disappeared on September 6, 2013.
Friends of Yang Meiling reported that after she mentioned going to Shiqiao for errands on September 6, she never returned home. Her family found the house empty and her phone unreachable. The Yang family reported her missing to the Bazhong police, but they were unable to locate Yang Meiling.
Time quickly passed to February 1, 2014, when a young man entered the duty room of the Dazhou City Dachuan District Public Security Bureau to file a Report. This man identified himself as Li Chuan, from Shiqiao Town in Dazhou City. He stated that his father had left home after dinner at 8 PM on January 31, 2014, and had not returned since.
At the same time, Li Chuan informed the police that although he could reach his father by phone, no one answered. He had searched all of his father's usual haunts but found no trace of him.
Then came a Text Message from his father instructing the family not to call him anymore and mentioning that he had sold his motorcycle for 4,000 yuan.
This message raised suspicions for Li Chuan, as his father rarely sent texts; if he did, they were usually just one or two words. Moreover, the motorcycle was essential for the family's livelihood—how could he sell it so casually?
On February 2, Li Xinmin's brother received another Text Message from Li Xinmin's phone. The message read: “Brother, tell your sister-in-law not to worry. I told her to take care of the child; don’t keep calling me.”
This message pushed the Li family to the brink of despair because Li Xinmin's wife had passed away nearly a year prior. Upon learning this information, the police also found it suspicious and began investigating the case.
Soon enough, officers discovered that Li Xinmin's motorcycle was frequently seen around Hanshui and Shiqiao. By February 9, they located someone using Li Xinmin's phone and motorcycle.
This individual was named Guo Wen, a 37-year-old from Hanshui Town, Pingchang County in Bazhong City. Notably, Guo Wen was not an ordinary person; he had a criminal record for theft and kidnapping and had been repeatedly dealt with by the Public Security Bureau. Additionally, he had been spotted in Shiqiao and Hanshui during the time when people went missing.
In 2011, after being released from prison, Guo Wen started a breeding business at home. The prison he had been in even nominated him as a "Small Expert in Reemployment and Wealth Creation."
CCTV reported multiple times on Guo Wen's story of turning his life around. However, in broad daylight, why was this man, who claimed to have reformed, brought back to the Public Security Bureau? Was he connected to the disappearance of motorcycle driver Li Xinmin?
When questioned by the police, Guo Wen claimed he knew nothing about Li Xinmin's whereabouts. After repeated inquiries from the officers, Guo Wen only admitted to stealing Li Xinmin's motorcycle, stating that Li Xinmin had been taken away by Wang Ming and Li San.
While the police were interrogating Guo Wen, a middle-aged couple arrived at the police station to report their biological son.
The couple, who appeared at the Public Security Bureau, were named Guo Jun and Luo Qin. They wanted to report their son Guo Zhaocheng and his cousin. Moreover, the cousin they were reporting was none other than the suspect Guo Wen, whom the police were currently investigating.
Guo Jun and Luo Qin were from Bazhong City, Hanshui Town. The couple had been working away from home for years, leaving their 20-year-old daughter Guo Yan to take care of their son Guo Zhaocheng, who was in his second year of high school.
Upon learning that their son Guo Zhaocheng had committed a serious crime, Guo Jun and Luo Qin rushed back from out of town. Without going home first, they headed straight to the Public Security Bureau. Luo Qin stated that motorcycle driver Li Xinmin had been killed by Guo Wen and their son Guo Zhaocheng.
Subsequently, Luo Qin called her daughter to inquire about Guo Zhaocheng's whereabouts and asked her to bring him to the Public Security Bureau to turn himself in. After hanging up the phone, Luo Qin broke down in tears in the office of the police station, declaring that she would never cover up for her son's crimes.
Soon after, Guo Zhaocheng arrived at the Public Security Bureau with his sister. Seeing his parents, 16-year-old Guo Zhaocheng burst into tears. Faced with his mother's cries, he confessed to killing motorcycle driver Li Xinmin alongside his cousin Guo Wen.
On February 9th, the investigating officers took Guo Zhaocheng to the location where Li Xinmin was murdered.
"Then I pressed his hand down on the ground, and then I used a kitchen knife to stab him in that area you mentioned—the jaw, right?"
"Correct."
"How many times did you stab him?"
"I stabbed him several times."
"But, but in the end... I struck him a few times. But, but ultimately, it was because he was the first one to strike."

"And then he turned over and lay there, shouting for help, help." On the day of the incident, the severed blade was discarded in a remote area, according to Guo Zhaocheng's account.
The forensic expert extracted a large amount of blood from the stones and grass in that open space. Subsequently, Guo Zhaocheng led the investigating officers to Guo Wen's home. Guo Zhaocheng stated that he and his cousin Guo Wen transported Li Xinmin's body back to Guo Wen's house. However, out of fear, Guo Zhaocheng did not assist Guo Wen in disposing of it.
Li Xinmin's body was handled solely by Guo Wen. So where did Guo Wen take the body? The cunning Guo Wen continued to deny any involvement in Li Xinmin's death. At this point, finding Li Xinmin's body became the core of the case.
Immediately, the police brought in search dogs to comb the area around Guo Wen's home while investigating Li Xinmin's activities on the day he went missing.
With strong technical support, the investigating officers quickly found Li Xinmin's body in Guo Wen's hometown. The Li family could hardly believe that the honest and simple Li Xinmin had met such a tragic fate.
Just as the Li family was still engulfed in grief, the attentive investigators discovered another clue. Guo Wen had a girlfriend named Yang Meiling, who had just been released from prison last May, and they had been dating since then. However, Yang Meiling went missing on September 6, 2013.
With this lead, the police promptly traveled to Bazhong City, Hanshui Town, to find Yang Meiling's family. Yet her sudden disappearance left her family bewildered. Could Yang Meiling's disappearance be related to Guo Wen?
First, she had been missing for nearly six months, and her family had been searching everywhere.
Second, he used a similar method to inform her family via text message that she had gone out to work and not to worry. The lawyer suggested that Yang Meiling might be far away.
In response, the police intensified their interrogation of Guo Wen. On February 13, 2014, Guo Wen confessed to killing Yang Meiling on September 6 of the previous year. Nine months after the "Confessions" program aired, this "wolf who entered and exited seven times" committed murder.
On the night of February 13, 2014, police found Yang Meiling's body under Guo Wen's guidance. However, what astonished them was that both Yang Meiling's body and Li Xinmin's body were buried near a hillside close to Guo Wen's home, just 20 meters apart.
"After she died, I kept her in the house for two days; I slept in that room. In my heart... things had already happened, but I also... thought of some ways and buried her near my house."
"After I buried her, I went to see her almost every day, whether it was morning, noon under the blazing sun, or even in the afternoon. Sometimes I would visit her two or three times a day, and I would talk to her, regardless of whether she could hear me."
"I’m telling you, Lingling, I truly am sorry for what I did."
It turned out that Guo Wen had spent over ten years in prison for theft and kidnapping.
In 2013, shortly after his release, he was introduced to Yang Meiling, who was also a former labor reform inmate. They quickly fell in love due to their shared experiences. Since Guo Wen had never been in a relationship before, he was completely devoted to Yang Meiling and treated her with great affection.
However, on September 6, 2013, when Guo Wen called Yang Meiling, he was surprised to find that a strange man answered the phone. They ended up having a heated argument over the call.
Guo Wen couldn't shake off the feeling of betrayal from that phone call but chose not to mention it to Yang Meiling. That night, consumed by jealousy and suspicion, he strangled her to death. For several days afterward, he lived in fear but eventually noticed that no one seemed to care about his actions and returned to a carefree lifestyle.
On the night of January 31, 2014, while spending the Spring Festival alone at home, he suddenly invited his nephew Guo Zhaocheng to join him in robbing a motorcycle taxi driver in Shiqiao Town, which ultimately led to the death of the driver, Li Xinmin.
On February 19, 2014, police brought Guo Wen back to Shiqiao Town for a site identification. Local residents had gathered early to catch a glimpse of this cold-blooded killer.
Guo Wen had grown up with divorced parents and lacked familial love and discipline in his life. This absence contributed to his increasingly radical and distorted personality; he had only seen his father once during a television program.
At that time, CCTV even dedicated an episode to provide psychological counseling for them.
