It is said that this crime scene nearly scared the life out of everyone who witnessed it, as the area was drenched in blood, a truly horrific sight. The ground surrounding the house was covered in blood, making it clear that it was a scene of utter carnage.
This was also the most heartbreaking case in all of Xinxiang City.
A 21-year-old blossoming young woman was brutally murdered in her home, and the killer turned out to be her boyfriend, who had professed his love for her. However, when you learn the truth behind this tragedy, your heart will surely be filled with mixed emotions.
Date: May 24, 2009.
Location: Henan Province, Xinxiang City, Yanjin County.
On that fateful night, the Yan Jin County Police received a report stating that a girl named Xiaoyu had been found dead in her bedroom.
Upon receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene to secure it. Inside the room, Xiaoyu showed no signs of life. After an examination by forensic experts, it was determined that Xiaoyu had multiple stab wounds; her heart and lungs had been pierced, leading to her death from excessive blood loss.
Xiaoyu's parents were unable to accept this grim reality. Xiaoyu's father blamed himself for the tragedy, stating that he had gone to bed early that night and hadn’t gone out to visit anyone. The police discovered through their investigation that Xiaoyu had a habit of leaving her bedroom door unlocked at night, which provided an opportunity for the suspect to commit the crime.
According to Xiaoyu's mother, around 9 PM that evening, both Xiaoyu and her father went to bed early while she stayed up to finish some farm work. After locking the courtyard gate, she worked alone in the living room.
Suddenly, she heard a thud. She leaned over to look out the window but saw nothing unusual and continued with her work. Shortly after, she heard a cry for help from Xiaoyu.
Upon hearing her daughter's desperate plea, Xiaoyu's mother rushed to her daughter's room. The moment she opened the door, she witnessed an image that would haunt her forever: a man with his back turned to her, wielding a bloody knife as he viciously attacked her daughter.
In that moment of shock, the killer fled through the window. Xiaoyu's mother quickly followed him outside; however, since the courtyard gate was locked, he escaped by climbing over the wall.
Realizing she could not catch up to the murderer, she returned to her daughter's room to check on Xiaoyu. However, at that moment, Xiaoyu showed no signs of life. The figure of the killer felt strangely familiar, but she couldn't recall who it was.
Soon, the police arrived at the crime scene to begin their investigation, hoping to find any clues left by the murderer. They analyzed the situation and concluded that since the courtyard gate was locked, the killer must have been someone familiar with the layout, as they had accurately located Xiaoyu's room to commit the murder.
The police then examined Xiaoyu's call records and discovered that her last call had come from her ex-boyfriend, Feng Shuangfu.
They also found shoe prints at the crime scene that matched Feng Shuangfu's size perfectly. Additionally, a pair of sunglasses was discovered near the courtyard wall, and DNA testing confirmed that these sunglasses belonged to Feng Shuangfu.
Meanwhile, the terrified mother suddenly realized that the familiar figure bore a striking resemblance to Feng Shuangfu.
According to Xiaoyu's mother, Feng Shuangfu was her daughter's ex-boyfriend. They had only recently broken up. In order to locate Feng Shuangfu quickly, the police split into two teams: one continued to gather clues at Xiaoyu's home while the other set off from Yanjin County, where the crime occurred, heading towards Feng Shuangfu's hometown in Huo Family County.
Upon arriving at Feng Shuangfu's home, his parents and neighbors reported that he had not returned home for several days. As dawn broke gradually, evidence hidden in the darkness began to surface.
The police found a knife sheath beneath Xiaoyu's bedroom window and discovered a trail of intermittent blood leading from Xiaoyu's house to a wheat field about one kilometer away. However, due to the tall wheat in the field, the trail disappeared once they entered it.
Forensic analysis revealed that the blood on the ground did not belong to the deceased Xiaoyu. The police speculated that this blood likely belonged to Feng Shuangfu and deduced that he must have been injured and could not have gone far; he was likely hiding somewhere in the wheat field nearby.
The police then enlisted the help of local residents in their search for the suspect.
Coincidentally, a villager who was watering his crops reported seeing a shirtless man running northward.
Based on this lead from the villager, a large number of police officers and dogs were deployed for an extensive search. It wasn't long before they discovered Feng Shuangfu lying unconscious in the wheat field, holding a knife and covered in blood. He had lost too much blood and was unable to continue fleeing, which is why he had collapsed in the wheat field.
As the police prepared to apprehend him, Feng Shuangfu noticed them. He immediately stood up and brandished his knife defiantly but was ultimately captured by the police.
After being captured, Feng Shuangfu detailed the entire process of killing Xiaoyu, but he remained tight-lipped about the reasons behind the murder, displaying an extremely arrogant demeanor in front of the police and the judge.
"Why did you kill her? Do you regret it now?"
"I don't regret it."
"How long have you been with Xiaoyu? Did you love her?"
When the victim's father asked him why he killed Xiaoyu, Feng Shuangfu's response was still, "It was fun, fun. I don't regret it. Is that annoying?"
His arrogant attitude was evident on his face, as if he sought nothing but death. However, seeing their son's demeanor, Feng Shuangfu's parents desperately urged him to cooperate with the interrogation in hopes of receiving leniency.
Watching his parents cry heart-wrenchingly, Feng Shuangfu's eyes also turned red, but his tone remained cold and indifferent.
What could possibly cause this 21-year-old young man to be so detached?
The story traces back to the summer of 2009 when Feng Shuangfu and Xiaoyu, both from Henan Province, met while working in Jiangsu Province. They quickly became a couple and confirmed their romantic relationship.
A few months later, Feng Shuangfu brought Xiaoyu home to meet his parents in Henan Province. The the Feng Family soon accepted the beautiful and well-behaved daughter-in-law.
Feng Shuangfu's father remarked that his son and Xiaoyu had a great relationship; they were inseparable. He never imagined they would end up in such a situation. The the Feng Family believed that since the two children were so compatible, they should settle down and start a family soon.
However, what the the Feng Family did not anticipate was that when Xiaoyu returned home with Feng Shuangfu, she faced strong opposition from her parents. Feng Shuangfu felt deeply frustrated by this turn of events. Even more difficult for him to accept was Xiaoyu's decision to heed her parents' words and break up with him, choosing to go back to Jiangsu alone for work.
But not long after, her boyfriend Feng Shuangfu found her again and pleaded desperately, ultimately leading to their reconciliation.
After reconciling their relationship, the bond between Feng Shuangfu and Xiaoyu rapidly intensified, with constant phone calls and frequent exchanges. Feng Shuangfu's parents hoped the two children could be together and decided to personally bring a gift of money to Xiaoyu's parents.
However, Xiaoyu's parents remained unmoved, adamantly refusing to agree to the marriage.
At that moment, something unexpected happened. In front of everyone present, Feng Shuangfu knelt down to persuade Xiaoyu's parents to accept their union.
Kneeling on the ground, Feng Shuangfu tightly grasped Xiaoyu's father's hand, pleading desperately. Yet, Xiaoyu's father remained unyielding and firmly rejected Feng Shuangfu's proposal. Thus, both families parted ways unhappily.
Faced with Feng Shuangfu's relentless pursuit, Xiaoyu felt helpless. On one side was her beloved boyfriend, and on the other were her parents who had raised her. Out of filial piety, Xiaoyu chose to heed her parents' wishes and cut off contact with Feng Shuangfu.
However, Feng Shuangfu was not willing to give up. He frantically called Xiaoyu and her family's phone, leading Xiaoyu's mother to even disconnect the phone line. This action filled Feng Shuangfu with resentment, and a sinister thought crossed his mind: if he couldn't have her, then no one else could. He decided to kill Xiaoyu.
On the evening of May 24th, he bought a dagger and lurked outside Xiaoyu's home. After seeing that the lights in both bedrooms were off, he climbed over the wall into the yard and went straight to Xiaoyu's bedroom to murder her.
According to Feng Shuangfu's confession, after killing Xiaoyu, he contemplated suicide but lacked the courage. He stabbed himself several times in the back but ultimately fainted from blood loss in a wheat field until he was captured by the police.
However, during his interrogation by the judge, his attitude was extremely arrogant. Feng Shuangfu consistently refused to answer any questions posed by the judge.
Xiaoyu's parents believed that a life must be paid for a life and debts must be repaid.
In addition to demanding that Feng Shuangfu pay with his life, Xiaoyu's father also sought compensation for funeral expenses, emotional distress, and other losses totaling 250,000 yuan.
Amidst the cries of Feng Shuangfu's family, the judge sentenced him to death.
