Li Xiumei reached out her hand, intending to take the rabbit from Zhao Guangcai. 0

Zhao Guangcai frowned and took a step back, avoiding her touch. 0

Li Xiumei was taken aback, her expression darkening. She hadn’t expected Zhao Guangcai to refuse her. 0

“Brother Zhao, I…” Li Xiumei tried to plead again, but was interrupted by Zhang Xiaoxiao. 0

“Li Xiumei, who do you think you are?” Zhang Xiaoxiao mocked, looking at her with disdain. “Why do you think that just because you asked, we have to sell the rabbit to you?” 0

At her words, Li Xiumei’s face turned a mix of green and purple as she glared at Zhang Xiaoxiao. “I… I wasn’t even talking to you! Why are you butting in?” 0

“Hmph!” Zhang Xiaoxiao sneered. “You may not be talking to me, but the rabbit you’re trying to grab belongs to my family, so of course I have a say.” 0

“Your family?” Li Xiumei was momentarily stunned before scoffing. “Zhang Xiaoxiao, stop flattering yourself. This is clearly Brother Zhao’s rabbit; how did it become yours?” 0

“Zhao Guangcai’s rabbit is my rabbit,” Zhang Xiaoxiao said as she linked her arm with Zhao Guangcai’s and looked up at him. “Right?” 0

Zhao Guangcai glanced down at her and replied lightly, “Yeah.” 0

Seeing this, Li Xiumei’s expression soured even more. 0

She gritted her teeth. “Brother Zhao, you actually gave the rabbit to her?” 0

Zhao Guangcai frowned. “Is there a problem?” 0

“I…” Li Xiumei was at a loss for words. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao reveled in her discomfort and turned to Zhao Guangcai. “Let’s go back.” 0

“Okay.” Zhao Guangcai nodded and walked toward the courtyard with Zhang Xiaoxiao. 0

Li Xiumei panicked at the sight. “Brother Zhao, you haven’t said whether you’re selling the rabbit or not!” 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao stopped and looked back at her. “Not selling.” 0

“You…” Li Xiumei was so furious she stomped her foot. “Brother Zhao, look at her!” 0

Zhao Guangcai gave her a calm glance. “Xiaoxiao is right; we’re not selling the rabbit.” 0

“What?” Li Xiumei’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Brother Zhao, you actually…” 0

"We plan to braise one and steam the other," Zhang Xiaoxiao said, grinning widely. "Why don't you stay and eat with us?" 0

"You..." Li Xiumei trembled with anger. "Zhang Xiaoxiao, you're going too far!" 0

"How am I going too far?" Zhang Xiaoxiao blinked innocently at her. 0

"You..." Li Xiumei pointed at Zhang Xiaoxiao. "You eat so much, aren't you afraid of bursting!" 0

"What I eat is none of your business," Zhang Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes. "Even if I do burst, it's still better than some people who can't even fill their stomachs." 0

"You..." Li Xiumei was left speechless by her retort. 0

Seeing Li Xiumei's defeated expression, Zhang Xiaoxiao felt a surge of delight. She looked at Li Xiumei and continued, "Besides, if I can't finish it, I can always save it for the next meal. Anyway, there are plenty of ingredients in my fridge." 0

"You..." Li Xiumei's face turned green with anger as she pointed at Zhang Xiaoxiao. "You... you..." 0

"What about me?" Zhang Xiaoxiao interrupted impatiently. "If you have nothing else to say, just hurry up and leave." 0

"I..." Li Xiumei wanted to say something more. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao suddenly narrowed her eyes and looked at her. "I warn you, don't point at others casually, or else..." 0

"Or else what?" Li Xiumei asked instinctively. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao smiled as she stepped closer to Li Xiumei and whispered, "Or else I'll chop off your fingers!" 0

"You..." Li Xiumei was so frightened that she quickly pulled back her hand. "You... you wouldn't dare!" 0

"Heh." Zhang Xiaoxiao chuckled lightly. "Want to give it a try?" 0

Li Xiumei took several steps back in fear. "I... I have no money, I'm not buying anything!" 0

With that, she turned and ran away. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao watched her retreating figure and couldn't help but snicker. With such little courage, how could she dare to challenge her? 0

Once Li Xiumei was gone, Zhang Xiaoxiao's smile faded. She lowered her head and stared at her toes, her expression turning cold. She remembered how she used to be a very likable little girl when she was younger. 0

But later, she didn't know when it started, she became the "bad kid" in the eyes of others. Her parents didn't like her, her classmates hated her, and even the neighbors looked down on her. She once pondered endlessly about what she had done wrong and why everyone disliked her. But now, she understood. Because she had grown up. 0

The hearts of children are the purest; they can express their joys and sorrows without reservation. But adults are different. Adults care about appearances, they calculate, and they complicate things. So when they realize that a child is no longer under their control, they reject and distance themselves from that child. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao couldn't help but smile self-deprecatingly at this thought. She supposed she could also be considered a child hated by adults now. 0

“Xiaoxiao?” Zhao Guangcai's voice suddenly rang in her ear. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao snapped back to reality and turned to look at him. “What’s wrong?” 0

Zhao Guangcai frowned. “What’s wrong with you?” 0

“Huh?” Zhang Xiaoxiao was taken aback for a moment. “What do you mean?” 0

“Your complexion doesn’t look good,” Zhao Guangcai said with concern. 0

“Oh.” Zhang Xiaoxiao realized and smiled lightly. “I’m fine; I might just be a bit tired from arguing with Li Xiumei earlier.” 0

“Oh.” Zhao Guangcai nodded, not saying anything more. 0

Zhang Xiaoxiao glanced at the rabbits in his hands. “What do you plan to do with these two rabbits?” 0

“What do you want to do?” Zhao Guangcai countered. 0

“Me?” Zhang Xiaoxiao furrowed her brow slightly, thinking for a moment before pointing at one of the white rabbits. “Let’s keep this one; you can handle the rest.” 0

“Okay.” Zhao Guangcai nodded. “Don’t worry; I’ll take care of it.” 0

“Mm.” 0
