More than half a month ago, Jono discovered that her boyfriend, Shen Fengye, was cheating on her with her friend, Ni Yue. Heartbroken, she found solace in her father, who devoted himself to comforting and caring for her. However, just when he decided to return to handle issues with the Qiao Family business, it was already too late. He had accumulated a significant amount of debt and suffered a stroke due to the immense pressure, now lying in a hospital bed.
Today, Jono came to the hotel specifically to gather evidence of Shen Fengye and Ni Yue's affair. Her father's medical bills were substantial, and with her credit cards frozen, she had no choice but to resort to this desperate measure—taking photos to blackmail them.
She was not someone who could swallow her grievances quietly; since these two had acted unjustly, she would not hesitate to retaliate.
Little did she know that the person in the room was none other than Jin Chengyan!
She could only blame herself for not checking the calendar before stepping out.
"Now that you know I'm not a reporter, can I go?" It seemed that taking the wrong path led to no good outcome. She would have to find another way to cover her father's treatment costs; if worse came to worst, she would have to swallow her pride and borrow from those snobbish relatives.
Jin Chengyan scoffed lightly. Upon realizing she was the bankrupt heiress of the Qiao Family, his wariness lessened somewhat, but it did not diminish his annoyance.
"Leave." Jin Chengyan turned his back, genuinely not wanting to see someone who irritated him.
Jono pouted, thinking that Mr. Jin certainly had quite the temper. Moreover, she felt sorry for her phone; with no money left on hand and her phone gone, it would be difficult for the hospital to contact her in the future.
However, she couldn't continue arguing about her phone. After all, it was already generous of Jin Chengyan to let her go. This man held significant power in Qin Cheng and was known for being decisive—his word was law!
If only half a month ago there had been someone like him willing to lend a hand to the Qiao Family, they might not have faced such ruin. But then again, the Qiao Family and Jin Family were hardly familiar with each other.
Jono let out a soft sigh and turned to leave.
Just as she took a step outside, the suite door was flung open from the outside. Before Jono could comprehend what was happening, a flashlight was repeatedly flashing in her direction, followed by a rush of seven or eight figures resembling reporters armed with cameras and recording equipment!
Jono was completely taken aback. Alice, whom Jin Chengyan had called, was a reporter?
"Miss Qiao, after the Qiao Family's bankruptcy, have you really fallen to the point of selling yourself for money?"
"Miss Qiao, how much do you sell for?"
"Miss Qiao..."
One question after another was hurled at Jono. These inquiries were so absurd; why would her bankruptcy mean she had to sell herself for money? What connection did the two have? And those people's gazes—why were they so revolting?
She was forced back into the room, but those people showed no signs of giving up, determined to extract something from her!
Just as Jin Chengyan was about to step into the room, he suddenly heard commotion at the door. Frowning, he turned back and felt the intense glare of the flashlight. How could these reporters be so brazen? What were the security guards at Prosperity doing?
Before he could get angry, one of the reporters rushed in holding a recording device: "Do you have any objections to this kind of transactional relationship?"
This was also a question Jin Chengyan couldn't understand. He shot a sidelong glance at the reporter, unable to hold back his urge to call security!
"Isn't that Mr. Jin Chengyan, the president of Juefeng?" A sharp-eyed reporter recognized Jin Chengyan, and instantly, chaos erupted in the suite!
It turned out that the Bankrupt Heiress, Jono, and the Prosperity President, Jin Chengyan, were involved in a scandalous affair!
Silence fell as Jin Chengyan noticed Jono not far away, surrounded by reporters and looking equally bewildered. From the questions being thrown at her, it was clear they weren't targeting Jin Chengyan.
He cleared his throat, and as soon as he opened his mouth, the reporters fell silent. "If you continue to spread nonsense, I reserve the right to pursue legal action against you."
His unusually cold voice dropped the temperature in the suite by several degrees. Yes, this was Jin Chengyan; dealing with a few newspapers was hardly a challenge for him.
Meanwhile, Jono finally understood why everything had turned upside down. She spotted Ni Yue and Shen Fengye standing by the door, observing the chaos.
