The car arrived at Jin Mansion, and Jin Chengyan wasted no time pulling Jono out, roughly dragging her into the living room.
Jono had no idea what was happening as she was thrown onto the sofa, her head hitting the cushions.
She covered her head and looked up at the furious Jin Chengyan. "Jin Chengyan, are you out of your mind? What have I done to deserve this? And let me make it clear, I do not like you at all, not even a little bit! This does not violate the Contract!"
Thinking back to Jin Chengyan's vague comments in the car, Jono felt a surge of anger.
Did this man really have to be so narcissistic, randomly claiming that she had feelings for him?
There was no denying that Jin Chengyan was indeed impressive, possessing qualities that attracted women. Jono found herself drawn to him despite her better judgment.
But that was far from liking him!
However, it seemed that Jin Chengyan was not concerned with her feelings.
He took out his phone and played a recording.
"Jono, let me tell you, in sales, if you can't talk your way through, then use your body! Of course, I'm not saying you should sell yourself. In this world, money can move mountains. You know President Zhao? He loves those little stars. Recently popular ones like Leisurely and Ruan Shengyu—I've heard President Zhao has a thing for that kind of vibe."
"Haha..."
"Don't brush this off; it's my advice to you."
"Alright then, I'll arrange for one or two little stars for President Zhao tonight."
The recording abruptly cut off.
Inside, one voice belonged to Jono, while the other was that of a salesperson from the company.
Yet she couldn't recall when she had ever said such words.
As she looked at Jin Chengyan, her expression was one of confusion, but all she saw in his eyes was fury.
Suddenly, Jono realized there was an undeniable name mentioned in that recording—Ruan Shengyu.
"Jono, I told you before, Ruan Shengyu is mine. You dare to use such despicable means? You've got some nerve!" Jin Chengyan slammed his phone down onto the coffee table.
The phone hit the table with force, causing both the device and the table to crack in various places.
"This matter hasn't gone your way. If anything happens to her, not even a hundred of you could make up for it!"
In the midst of Jin Chengyan's rage, Jono understood; he believed that Ruan Shengyu had been harmed because of her actions.
Suppressing the pain in her forehead, she stood up from the sofa. "Jin Chengyan, I clearly and unequivocally tell you that I found out about Ruan Shengyu's situation online! As for your accusations, I can only say that if you keep piling on charges, you'll run out of words!"
Jono truly had no idea how this had come about.
"Then how do you explain this recording? Is that voice not yours?" Jin Chengyan pointed at the broken phone. His trust in Jono was minimal, and before the incident involving Ruan Shengyu, he had not been rational at all.
Jono was speechless; the voice was hers, but she couldn't remember when she had said those words.
So much had happened over the past few days; there hadn't been any time to spare.
"Then let the police investigate. After all, they are already involved in this matter. I have nothing to fear if I'm innocent. If they find me guilty later on, I won't deny it!" Jono would never admit to something she hadn't done!
Jin Chengyan let out a cold laugh. "Call the police? You know she's a public figure, yet you want to report her. Your intentions are more venomous than a snake!"
With that, Jin Chengyan slammed the door and left.
