Jono returned to the small apartment and found that Qiao Chen was already gone. He had left a note saying that the school had called him back for class and promised not to make the same mistake again.
Jono chuckled as he looked at the little note. This guy was too scared to call for fear of being scolded, so he only dared to leave a small piece of paper. She could just imagine Qiao Chen's conflicted expression while writing that note.
However, if Qiao Chen was able to go back to school, it meant… Jin Chengyan.
Had he stopped retaliating against him?
Did he believe she was framed?
Jono quickly took out her phone, intending to call Jin Chengyan, but when she rummaged through her bag, her phone was missing!
That was her diamond-encrusted phone! If it was lost, how much would that cost?
Perhaps it had been left in Yan Beiting's car; after all, she had tossed it in there after he hung up on Jin Chengyan.
But none of that mattered right now. Jono needed to find Jin Chengyan immediately to thank him for not being a man blinded by love.
She took a taxi back to Jin Mansion, but Jin Chengyan wasn't there. All she could do was wait… and wait…

Jono fell asleep on the sofa while waiting. She woke up to some noise and checked the time—it was already midnight.
The lights at the entrance turned on, and Jono thought it might be Jin Chengyan returning. She rubbed her eyes and walked over in that direction.
Sure enough, it was Jin Chengyan who had returned.
However, he reeked of smoke and alcohol, stumbling as he entered from outside, clearly intoxicated.
Just as he was about to collapse onto the floor, Jono rushed forward to support him.
"Jin Chengyan, how could you drink so much? Did someone force you to drink at the gathering?" Jono strained with all her might to hold him up, only to realize that this man was unusually heavy.
His weight pressed down on her almost entirely!
Jono nearly lost her balance, almost falling along with him. Fortunately, she managed to grab onto the shoe cabinet to steady herself.
"Hey... don’t fall! I’ll help you back to your room!" Jono's drowsiness vanished in an instant; all she could think about was getting Jin Chengyan to his room.
But a drunken Jin Chengyan was hardly compliant.
Suddenly, he wrapped his arms around Jono, burying his head in the crook of her neck and holding on tightly.
"You... can’t leave..." Jin Chengyan murmured softly, his voice sounding as if he had suffered a great blow.
"Okay, I won’t leave. But I need to get you into your room," Jono replied, also holding onto Jin Chengyan. She planned to get him onto the sofa; she realized that getting him upstairs would be quite a challenge.
"No... no... you can’t... like someone else... you can’t!"
Three black lines appeared on Jono's forehead. Did she really need Jin Chengyan's permission to like someone?
"Alright, alright, I don't like others. Can you just go to the living room obediently?" She knew she couldn't think like a normal person when dealing with someone who was drunk; she needed to resolve this situation quickly!
However, upon hearing her response, Jin Chengyan felt delighted. He released Jono and cupped her face in his hands.
Jono was momentarily stunned by Jin Chengyan's sudden action. Even in his drunken state, when he looked seriously at another person, his gaze was electrifying. At that moment, there was only one person in his eyes.
Jono's heart inexplicably raced.
But what surprised her even more was when Jin Chengyan leaned in to kiss her!
It was a real kiss, not like that teasing incident in the office!
His mouth carried a strong scent of alcohol, and as he pried her lips apart, the taste flooded into her mouth.
It was spicy, and there was... a suffocating sensation.
