The tranquil moment was easily interrupted.
Jono had only rested her head on Jin Chengyan's shoulder for ten minutes when his phone rang.
She was awakened by the ringtone and opened her eyes just in time to see Jin Chengyan silencing his phone, catching a glimpse of the caller ID.
Ruan Shengyu.
Jono knew she couldn't pretend any longer, so she lifted herself off Jin Chengyan's shoulder.
She was aware that Jin Chengyan had a woman he cherished deeply, and that woman was Ruan Shengyu.
Yet, when Jin Chengyan saw the call, he hesitated slightly, knowing that Jono wasn't in a good state right now.
"Why aren't you answering? Isn't that your girlfriend?" Jono had already distanced herself from Jin Chengyan, as if their relationship had always been nothing more than a mere contract.
With Jono saying that, Jin Chengyan had no reason not to answer.
He stood up and walked toward the window.
His back was turned to Jono, so she couldn't see his expression or know what he was saying.
Jono's ears still echoed with the words Jin Chengyan had just spoken to her; his voice was so pleasant, so soothing, and he clearly understood her thoughts.
A woman must fear encountering such a man!
So even now, Jono couldn't understand why someone as exceptional as Jin Chengyan wasn't liked by Ruan Shengyu. Did she have someone more important or more outstanding than Jin Chengyan who loved her?
