Jin Chengyan quickly got off Jono and went to his room.
Under the cold shower, icy water flowed over Jin Chengyan's body, dispelling the heat that had enveloped him.
He pressed his hands against the wall, his mind filled with Jono's shy expression from earlier, the warmth of her fingers brushing against her lips, her graceful figure, her lively big eyes, and...
"Damn it!" He slammed one hand against the wall, and in that moment of looking down, he noticed his own arousal declaring itself—he was indeed reacting to that woman, Jono.
However, these feelings should have been directed towards Ruan Shengyu!
After hastily finishing his shower, Jin Chengyan changed clothes and went downstairs, only to run into Jono.
She was holding an ice pack. "Here."
"You have a cut on your lip." Jono placed the ice pack directly on the corner of Jin Chengyan's mouth without waiting for him to take it.
Jono seemed a bit oblivious and didn't seem to mind what had happened earlier on her bed.
Jin Chengyan snapped back to reality because of Jono's action and realized she was less than ten centimeters away from him.
She didn't appear to have any ulterior motives; she just wanted to help him ice the injury he had sustained from sparring with A-Shan yesterday.
"How did you get hurt? Does someone dare to hit you?" Jono said softly, unaware that her words carried a hint of concern.
Of course, Jin Chengyan picked up on that.
He reached out and pressed down on Jono's hand, which was resting on the ice pack.
His hand was still warm, and when it covered hers, Jono was taken aback.
Only then did she realize how inappropriate her actions were, and she quickly withdrew her hand from Jin Chengyan's grasp.
Jin Chengyan took in all her movements. He noticed her blush from being flustered and her tension from his touch. He couldn't hide his fondness for such subtle emotions.
However, this person was Jono.
Jin Chengyan tossed the ice pack onto the table and stepped back, creating distance between himself and Jono.
"Do you remember what I told you?"
Jono felt a bit confused by Jin Chengyan's sudden withdrawal. But seeing his cold and distant expression made her feel as if she were in an ice cellar.
"..." She couldn't recall; he had said so many things that it was impossible for her to remember them all.
"Jono, don't fall for me. Don't get too deep." His words fell into Jono's ears, each one resonating in her heart.
"..." Jono found herself speechless, her words caught in her throat. She stared at Jin Chengyan in shock; she hadn't even reached the clouds before she had fallen hard back to earth. "But..."
That kiss from that day. Yesterday, he had held her and said he would always be there whenever she needed him!
Is it all a lie?
Although it started with her taking the initiative, eventually he took control of the situation. He nearly suffocated her, leaving her intoxicated by that kiss!
"If you're going to talk about that kiss from that day!" Jin Chengyan seemed to guess what she was about to say, his expression unusually cold. "Any man would not refuse a kiss offered by a woman; taking advantage is a man's inherent flaw."
"Slap—"
The sound of a slap echoed in the living room as Jono trembled with anger, staring at Jin Chengyan. How could he say such a thing about that kiss!
But he replied, "You kissed me and slapped me; I won't hold it against you."
Seeing the budding feelings, Jin Chengyan wanted to extinguish them immediately. He couldn't bear for things to unfold outside of his plans!
And Jono was completely unexpected!
