"Jono, when will you wake up?" It had already been three days, yet there was no sign of Jono regaining consciousness.
The surgery went smoothly, and all vital signs were normal, but Jono remained unresponsive.
Jin Chengyan had been by Jono's bedside without leaving for even a moment since the stitches were redone.
His dedication did not go unnoticed by the Jin family.
After all these years, Jin Chengyan had finally focused all his feelings on Jono!
Meanwhile, Ruan Shengyu, who was also in the hospital, had not seen Jin Chengyan visit him even once in these three days.

Just days ago, he had been arguing with someone who now lay in bed, uncertain of when he would awaken.

Jin Chengyan remained silent, staring through the glass of the hospital room at Jono lying in the bed, her face even showing a hint of color.
Look, her bodily functions are fine, yet she refuses to wake up. She must be angry!
Angry that he had come so late, allowing those people to hurt her and making her suffer such injustice.

Jin Chengyan's inner monologue contained words only he understood; Jono would never know them, and neither would anyone else.
"Take care of yourself. I need to get back to work," Qi Ziluo said as she looked at Jin Chengyan, unable to find more comforting words to say.

On the sixth day, Jono still had not woken up. The hospital room was adorned with the colorful cranes folded by Jin Chengyan, and the air was filled with the scent of sunflowers.
Feeling tired from reviewing documents, Jin Chengyan leaned back in the chair beside Jono's bed and fell asleep.
He dreamed of a grand wedding.
A red carpet stretched for hundreds of meters, flanked by blooming sunflowers. Beyond the red carpet stood a large crowd of onlookers, and he even recognized some familiar faces.
Qi Ziluo, Yan'an City, Jin Mengli… and even Yan Beiting!
He also saw Qiao Chen standing coolly to one side, smiling at him.
He had no idea what was happening!
But when he looked down at himself, he realized he was wearing a groom's outfit, with a boutonniere pinned to his chest.

"Thank goodness you're awake! I'll go call the doctor to check on you!" Jin Chengyan quickly pressed the button at the head of the bed. The fact that she had woken up made his voice much more cheerful when he spoke to the people at the Nurse Station. "Get the doctor over here; Jono is awake!"
He thought she would really sleep like this for a lifetime. He could stay here for a week, half a month, but what about a month? A year?
Jin Chengyan realized he might not be able to do it.
He had many things he needed to take care of and couldn’t devote all his energy to someone who might wake up at an unknown time.

"Listen, they are here to check your body!" He lowered his voice. If it had been before, Jono would have listened.
But today, injured Jono clung to the blanket, determined to resist even if she had no strength left!
"I don't want to!" Having woken up for a while, Jono's strength had somewhat returned, and her voice was much louder as she glared at Jin Chengyan, refusing to back down.
"Get out!" Jono pointed at the group of people behind Jin Chengyan. For some reason, she just didn't like them. Perhaps it was fear and uncertainty about this world; she preferred it quiet here!
Jono's emotional turmoil was too intense. Jin Chengyan couldn't allow her to move around too much; she still had an injury on her head! But he couldn't let her continue causing a scene.
Qi Ziluo immediately instructed the doctors and nurses to leave, leaving only him and Jin Chengyan behind. However, he already held a dose of sedative in his hand.
"Jono, what's wrong? They are here to check your body; why are you refusing?" Jin Chengyan frowned. Was Jono throwing a tantrum?
"Why are you always here? You said your name is Jin Chengyan; what exactly is our relationship?"
"I am your husband!" Jin Chengyan blurted out.
After saying it, he realized how strange it was for Jono to ask such a question!
"Jono... you... don't remember who I am?" Jin Chengyan asked Jono in shock.
"Should I remember you?" Jono asked, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't recall anything about this person. So, she must not know this man!
Jin Chengyan looked at Qi Ziluo, wanting to ask what was going on.
Qi Ziluo gave Jin Chengyan a glance, indicating the sedative in his hand. The two of them had silently agreed on their plan.
Quickly, Jin Chengyan stepped forward and restrained Jono!
Before Jono could react, Jin Chengyan had her under control, and Qi Ziluo swiftly injected the needle into Jono's arm!
The liquid was gradually pushed into Jono's body, and as she struggled, her body slowly relaxed until she finally closed her eyes.
Once Jono was settled, Jin Chengyan was already sweating profusely, likely from the scare Jono had given him.
"What is going on?" Jin Chengyan asked Qi Ziluo.
Qi Ziluo was also sweating; after all, this person was Jin Chengyan's wife. What would they do if something went wrong?

But even though Qiao Chen was mentally prepared, he felt completely bewildered when he saw his sister looking at him with a pair of confused eyes!
"Who are you?" Jono clearly wasn't as agitated as she had been when she first woke up. She gradually realized that she was indeed in a hospital, and the person who had been in her room was her husband!
His name was Jin Chengyan!
As for the others, she had no recollection of them at all.
Jin Chengyan was also somewhat surprised by Qiao Chen's arrival. Who had informed Qiao Chen?

"Jin Chengyan, what have you done to my sister?" Qiao Chen said angrily, stepping forward to glare at Jin Chengyan!
Jin Chengyan put down the apple he was peeling for Jono. He didn't even know why he was doing these things himself; he just felt uneasy if someone else took care of Jono.
Seeing her so sensitive and filled with uncertainty about the world made him worry that she wouldn't be able to handle the stress.
"What are you being so fierce for?" Before Jin Chengyan could say anything, Jono shouted at Qiao Chen, her face filled with a protective expression for Jin Chengyan.
Qiao Chen was once again taken aback; his sister was defending someone else!
He immediately looked at his sister, "Sister, it's me, Qiao Chen, your real brother! How could you..."
"Brother?" Jono repeated the word, but her mind was blank. She desperately wanted to remember, pressing her hands against her head, her brows furrowed as she struggled to recall something.
Seeing her anxious attempt to remember causing her pain, Jin Chengyan felt a pang in his heart. He stepped forward and gently took Jono's hands away, softly soothing her.
"Alright, if you can't remember, don't force it. We can think about it slowly later. It's okay..." Jin Chengyan spoke softly while patting her back.
Jono's troubled expression finally settled down. She leaned against Jin Chengyan's embrace, her expression gradually softening, though her unfamiliar gaze remained fixed on Qiao Chen and Huo Yawen.
She couldn't remember them at all.
After calming Jono down, Jin Chengyan placed her back on the hospital bed.
"You should take a nap. I have some things to take care of outside."
"You have to come back soon..." Jono reluctantly tugged at Jin Chengyan's sleeve.
"Okay." He nodded, his tenderness overwhelming.
It was no wonder Jono relied on the current Jin Chengyan so much.
However, when he turned around, Jin Chengyan's expression towards Qiao Chen and Huo Yawen became much colder.
"Jono needs to rest, you two should leave," he said, blocking Huo Yawen's path.

Huo Yawen had remained silent the entire time. Since she saw Jono, she had been quiet, and now that she met Jin Chengyan's gaze, there was a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes.
"Your sister is safe with me. I have so many people protecting her and will hire the best medical team to treat her. She cannot be stimulated right now. If you try to provoke her or cause any accidents, even if you are Jono's brother, I will not let you off easily."
"On what grounds will you not let me off? She is my sister!" Qiao Chen had been rough around the edges since childhood, but despite that, he had nothing but respect for his sister.
"I am her husband; from now on, her life is my life."
As soon as those words were spoken, silence fell outside the hospital room.
Having a brother-in-law who could say such things, let's temporarily refer to him as Qiao Chen, even though the brother-in-law he meant was not Jin Chengyan.
"I'll come back to see my sister when I have time! If she gets hurt again, I will definitely take her away from you! I don't care if you're her husband!" Qiao Chen was furious, storming off in anger without even acknowledging Huo Yawen.
With Qiao Chen's matter settled, Jin Chengyan needed to deal with Huo Yawen properly now.
Earlier, Jono had mentioned that he was her childhood sweetheart.
What a load of nonsense about childhood sweethearts; it was just a cover for secretly liking someone. Jin Chengyan despised such relationships.
What was there that couldn't be said openly? Hiding feelings like that was truly unmanly.
"You wanted to see Jono; there was no need to bring Qiao Chen along," Jin Chengyan said coldly.
Huo Yawen met Jin Chengyan's gaze.
This man exuded a powerful aura; despite being dressed casually and sporting a bit of stubble on his chin, he still commanded an air of dominance over everything.
"Even though you are Jono's husband, you cannot cut off her connections with the outside world and keep those who care about her in the dark about her situation." If it weren't for bringing Qiao Chen along, Huo Yawen would have had no way to see Jono.
But now that she had seen her, things were even more troubling.
"You like Jono." Jin Chengyan's statement was definitive, leaving Huo Yawen with nowhere to hide.
Huo Yawen, caught off guard by the truth of his feelings, paused. He thought he had concealed his emotions well, that no one would notice, but Jin Chengyan saw right through him with just one look.
"But if you really like Jono, you shouldn't have brought Qiao Chen here, making someone who cares about her worry!" Jin Chengyan stepped closer to Huo Yawen, his powerful presence pressing down on him.
Huo Yawen was usually the aloof type at the hospital, but he found himself somewhat overwhelmed in front of Jin Chengyan.
"Jono is now my wife. Please keep your feelings to yourself and don't let them show at all. Don't let Jono find out anything! Don't make it difficult for her! Between you and me, she will choose me without hesitation! You, as her childhood friend, must not dig your own grave!" Jin Chengyan was clearly displeased with Huo Yawen for bringing Qiao Chen along, so he spoke with a weight that left no room for misunderstanding.
Huo Yawen's face paled slightly; he realized he couldn't utter a single word in front of Jin Chengyan.
"Please... take good care of her," Huo Yawen quietly managed to say. It seemed to be the only thing he could express at that moment.
He lacked a proper identity; he wasn't even Jono's brother—just an awkward presence.
"Even if you don't say it, I will," Jin Chengyan said as he raised his hand, summoning two bodyguards immediately.
"Please escort Mr. Huo out. From now on, if he wishes to see the Young Mistress, do not obstruct him."
Huo Yawen looked at Jin Chengyan in surprise. Was he really allowing him to come and go freely to see Jono?
But then he realized that even if he could come and go as he pleased, Jono wouldn't remember him!
Disappointed, Huo Yawen left feeling utterly dejected.
After seeing off Qiao Chen and Huo Yawen, Jin Chengyan rubbed his temples.
As he turned to head towards Jono's hospital room, he suddenly realized what he had just said.
He opened the door and saw Jono lying on the bed. A part of him softened; it seemed that what he had said earlier was not wrong at all—he truly was Jono's husband!
Suddenly, Jono on the bed opened her eyes. She stretched her small hands out from under the covers, subtly placing them at the edge of the blanket, pulling it down slightly to reveal her bright, lively eyes.
When she saw Jin Chengyan enter, her smile grew wider, and her joy was completely unmasked.
"You’re back! I thought you were going to be gone for a long time," Jono's voice came from beneath the covers, muffled yet particularly pleasant to hear.
Jin Chengyan smiled lightly. "How could that be?"
Upon hearing this, Jono decided to emerge from under the blankets and sat cross-legged on the bed.
"Was that person earlier really my brother? But I don’t remember him at all. Since I woke up, I've only seen you; you’re the only one by my side. Do you really love me?"
Does Jin Chengyan truly love Jono?
