Jin Chengyan felt that his feelings were beyond words.
When Jono asked him if he loved her, he hesitated. If it had been the old Jono asking, he would have naturally denied it.
But the old Jono would never have asked him if he loved her; she would only say that she liked him, and his response wouldn’t matter.
Now, Jono was asking him if he loved her.
“I’m your husband, what do you think?” Jin Chengyan countered.
Jono blinked her big eyes a couple of times, tilting her head as she said, “Oh right, you are my husband. How could you not love me? I must have loved you a lot before, right?”
After losing her memory, Jono’s emotions were more straightforward. Perhaps because she didn’t understand everything, she acted purely based on her feelings.
While they were chatting, a nurse knocked and entered the room.
“Jin Shao, your stitches can be removed today.”
“Did you get hurt too, hubby?” Jono asked as she listened to the pretty and cheerful nurse, quickly shifting her gaze to Jin Chengyan. However, he didn’t seem to show any signs of discomfort.
Jin Chengyan nodded. “It’s nothing serious.”
“But you need to have the stitches removed! Where are you hurt? How did you get injured?” Jono asked anxiously.
How should Jin Chengyan explain his injury to Jono? He had argued with Yan Beiting over a woman and ended up stabbing himself to avoid dragging anyone down with him?
If he said that out loud, Jono would definitely press for details.
“I accidentally cut myself; it’s nothing serious,” Jin Chengyan said casually.
“Oh…” Jono nodded. “That must hurt a lot! Can I accompany you when they remove the stitches?” Her concerned gaze was completely genuine and sincere.
With that, Jin Chengyan couldn’t refuse. The current Jono was truly someone one couldn’t help but want to protect; he couldn’t bear to do anything that might hurt her.
“Jin Shao and Young Mistress are truly in love!” the nurse said enviously.
For so many days, Jin Chengyan had been by Jono's side without leaving her for a moment, handling everything personally and even sending numerous people to protect her!

So when Jono expressed such concern for him, his heart melted.
He placed his hand gently on the back of Jono's neck, softly caressing it. He could only rest his hand there; her head was bandaged and couldn’t be touched. At night, she had to sleep on her side.
This moment was beautiful…
“Let me in… let me in! I’m a friend of Ayan…”
“Sorry, if you don’t leave, we’ll have to take action…”
The sounds of arguing from outside broke through, causing Jin Chengyan to frown slightly. The tranquility of these past few days had been shattered.
“What’s happening outside?” Jono turned her head toward the door but could see nothing. Her hospital room had changed; there were no large windows to look out of, and there wasn’t even a vertical pane of glass on the door.
Her hospital room was like a luxurious suite; it felt less like a hospital and more like a hotel.
"I don't know, let me check," Jin Chengyan said as he stood up.
"I'll go with you!" Jono followed suit, grabbing Jin Chengyan's hand.
Jin Chengyan glanced at Jono's hand, hesitating for a brief moment. He recognized the voice outside belonged to someone he knew. Was it appropriate to go out with Jono at this moment?
However, Jono's innocent gaze made it impossible for him to refuse.
"Alright."
Outside the door, Ruan Shengyu was dressed in nurse's attire, but her sharp-eyed bodyguards quickly recognized her and began to usher her away step by step.
Ruan Shengyu fixed her gaze on the door of Jono's room. "Step aside! I'm here to see Ayan! Who are you to block me?"
Having not seen Jin Chengyan for so many days, Ruan Shengyu was truly anxious. She couldn't let Jono ruin everything she had worked so hard to achieve. Even if Jono told Jin Chengyan that it was Ruan Shengyu who had hit him over the head with a brick, she would find a way to make Jin Chengyan believe her.
But if she couldn't even see him, how could she explain anything?
After thinking it over, she decided she had no choice but to force her way in.
"Bang—" The door swung open from the inside.
Ruan Shengyu and the bodyguard turned their attention to see Jin Chengyan stepping out from within.
The bodyguard lowered his head, acknowledging his mistake; it was his failure that allowed unauthorized people to intrude.
Meanwhile, Ruan Shengyu finally revealed a hint of a smile. As long as she could see Jin Chengyan, all problems could be resolved.
However, there was someone else following Jin Chengyan out.
Jono's body stiffened; Jono had really woken up, and she was fine!
So she told Jin Chengyan everything!
"I'm sorry, Young Master. I'll have her removed right away," the bodyguard said in a low voice, immediately turning to grab Ruan Shengyu by the arm to escort her out. It didn't matter that she was a star; disturbing the rest of their Young Mistress was unforgivable.
"Ayan—" Ruan Shengyu called out to Jin Chengyan in a hurry.
Jin Chengyan looked at Ruan Shengyu with calm eyes. For some reason, in that moment, he didn't want to react at all; watching her being taken away was fine with him.
Fine...
"Honey, does she know you?" Jono asked, gazing at the unadorned yet exquisite and beautiful face. She really was stunning. If she knew her husband, did she perhaps like him?
After all, her husband was so handsome, so wealthy, and particularly gentle. Who wouldn't like such a man?
Jin Chengyan turned to look at Jono, who only wore a questioning expression, nothing more.
"Yes," Jin Chengyan nodded. He couldn't tell Jono that they had married because he wanted to be with another woman.
Their marriage wasn't based on love; he didn't love Jono as much as she thought he did, and he didn't even know if he loved her at all.
"Since she knows you, don't let anyone drive her away. Maybe she's just here to see you! We can't treat our guests like this," Jono said, placing her hand over Jin Chengyan's and gently stroking it as if seeking his opinion, urging him not to treat a guest that way.
Before Jin Chengyan could respond, Jono simply told the bodyguard, "Let her go; we know her."
The bodyguard looked at their Young Mistress in shock but seeing no reaction from the young master, he followed Jono's orders and released Ruan Shengyu.
However, Ruan Shengyu felt extremely surprised. When Jono looked at her, there was no trace of anger; logically speaking, she should hate her.
She should hate her for plotting against her, causing her to be misunderstood by Jin Chengyan, and for hitting her with a brick just when she was about to escape, making her face death itself.
But now, Jono looked at her with a gaze devoid of love or hate, as if she were a stranger.
Ruan Shengyu felt anxious in her heart as she walked step by step toward Jin Chengyan and Jono, not missing the sight of Jono's hand resting in Jin Chengyan's.
They were holding hands right in front of her!
Yet Jono had also said that Jin Chengyan had always loved her, Ruan Shengyu. Why were they holding hands now?
“Ayan…” Ruan Shengyu tentatively called out to Jin Chengyan, wanting to gauge his attitude. “Your injury…”
Ruan Shengyu knew that Jin Chengyan had had a conflict with Yan Beiting, but she didn’t know the specifics. Was it because of Jono or because of her?
In any case, Jin Chengyan had ended up getting hurt.
“My husband is fine; the doctor will come by later to remove his stitches,” Jono answered before Jin Chengyan could respond. She viewed the situation from a woman's perspective.
She felt that Ruan Shengyu's presence seemed to threaten her position. The way she looked at her husband was different from how others looked at him.
She didn’t like it!
Ruan Shengyu stared at Jono in shock.
Husband?
How could she even call him that?
But when faced with Jono's gaze, Ruan Shengyu couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt; after all, she was the one who had hurt him!
When Jono looked at her, there was no other emotion present.
This left Ruan Shengyu feeling perplexed.
Even more puzzling was Jin Chengyan's attitude.
He seemed to be drifting further away from himself.
"Yes, I'm going to have my stitches removed later. You should head back," Jin Chengyan responded to Jono's words.
Such an ambiguous attitude left Ruan Shengyu completely unable to guess what Jono had or hadn't said.
"I..."
"Enough, Shengyu. Jono has suffered a severe head injury and can't remember many things. He needs to rest, so you shouldn't come back anymore," Jin Chengyan interrupted Ruan Shengyu. He didn't want her to linger here; he seemed a bit afraid of what might happen if Ruan Shengyu continued talking and Jono discovered something.
So he could only send her away.
Ruan Shengyu's mind was filled with that one phrase: severe head injury, can't remember many things.
So she couldn't recall the details of being kidnapped? So she hadn't told Jin Chengyan anything at all?
But that didn't make sense. If Jono hadn't told Jin Chengyan anything, then why hadn't Jin Chengyan come to see her? Not once in all these days had he visited; he had only stayed by Jono's side.
Why?
However, Jono didn't give Ruan Shengyu more chances to see Jin Chengyan. She grabbed his hand and walked toward the hospital room.
"She knows you're injured too, right?" Jono glanced back slightly and saw Ruan Shengyu still standing at the doorway.
She had mentioned that she disliked the look in Ruan Shengyu's eyes; at this moment, not seeing Jin Chengyan, Ruan Shengyu looked at him with a face full of hatred.
Jin Chengyan nodded. He didn't even need to turn around; he knew Ruan Shengyu was still watching them.
He felt that this situation was increasingly beyond his control. Initially, he had only wanted to use Jono to provoke Ruan Shengyu into admitting her feelings.
But after Jono got involved, he began to hesitate, torn between not wanting to hurt Jono and not wanting to let go of Ruan Shengyu.
Yet now he had no choice but to take care of Jono; he couldn't allow Jono to get hurt again.
They had not been inside for long when the doctor came to remove Jin Chengyan's stitches.
Jin Chengyan took off his shirt, revealing his muscular torso.
This was Jono's first time seeing Jin Chengyan's body since his amnesia, and just like when she had seen him before, her cheeks flushed.
He had a great physique; he looked slim in clothes but had muscle when undressed. There was not a hint of excess fat on his waist, and the muscle definition in his arms was evident, a clear result of years of working out.
"Mr. Jin, can you handle it without anesthesia?" the doctor asked.
"Yes," Jin Chengyan nodded.
"Will it hurt a lot?" Jono was more anxious than Jin Chengyan, the one getting the stitches removed.
"Young Mistress, don't worry. We will be very gentle."
Even if it was gentle, they were still removing stitches from flesh. Jono tightly grasped Jin Chengyan's hand, surprised to find that she was the one feeling nervous; her palms were sweaty.
Seeing that Jin Chengyan was ready, the doctor began the procedure.
In truth, it did hurt a bit. Jin Chengyan could feel the stitches being cut, but as a man, he thought it would be too embarrassing to cry out in front of his wife.
So he kept smiling gently at Jono, reassuring her that he was fine.
Jono felt a pang of heartache; she knew that Jin Chengyan was actually in pain, his hand trembling slightly.
"Does it hurt a lot?" Jono whispered.
The hospital bed was large, with the doctor on one side removing Jin Chengyan's stitches while Jono knelt on the other side, holding his hand.
She didn't dare look at how the doctor was handling the removal.
"If you kiss me, it won't hurt," Jin Chengyan joked lightly, not wanting Jono to worry so much.
The doctor and nurses who were removing the stitches from Jin Chengyan couldn't help but smile slightly. Jin Shao and Mrs. Jin truly were a loving couple! Even during a simple procedure like this, they managed to show their affection!
Moreover, Mrs. Jin took it seriously; after Jin Chengyan said those words, she really leaned in and kissed him on the lips!
This scene was something even seasoned doctors had never witnessed, let alone the nurses.
Yet, it felt entirely appropriate, and they found it particularly heartwarming! Taking advantage of the moment while Jin Chengyan and Jono were kissing, they hastened their movements, gently and steadily removing the stitches from Jin Chengyan's wound. After re-dressing it, they quietly exited the room.
Unaware that the stitch removal was already complete, Jono's mind was consumed by one thought: if she kissed him, he wouldn't feel pain anymore.
However, she didn't expect Jin Chengyan to deepen the kiss. He parted her lips with his tongue, entangling with her while wrapping an arm around her waist, pulling her closer.
He knew the doctor had left, so he could do what he desired.

After a passionate encounter, Jono nestled in Jin Chengyan's embrace, her smooth back pressed against his warm chest, his heat lingering within her.
"I really want to stay inside you for a lifetime," Jin Chengyan's slightly exhausted voice reached Jono's ears, a result of their vigorous activity.
Jono buried her head into the pillow, feeling shy.

In the evening, Jin Mengli knocked and entered. Upon seeing Jono and Jin Chengyan together, a hint of ambiguity crossed her face.
Jono felt as if she were completely exposed under her gaze and lowered her head in embarrassment.
"Ahem. Originally, our parents came by this afternoon, but the doctor said you needed to rest after your stitches were removed, so I told them not to come in," Jin Mengli said as she placed some supplements on the table, speaking subtly.
Jin Chengyan remained expressionless, but Jono was another story.
Perhaps it was because of what had happened earlier that afternoon; she felt incredibly tense and blushed deeply upon hearing Jin Mengli's words.
After all, even if she suppressed her voice in the afternoon, there was still a chance it could get out.
Seeing Jono's face turn red, Jin Chengyan quickly changed the subject. "Are you free? Don't you need to take care of Chuyu Xiu?"
"Her father is watching!" Jin Mengli's words put an end to Jin Chengyan's concern. "How about this: once Jono is discharged from the hospital, you two can go home for a while. Let your family take care of Jono until she's recovered, and then you can move back to Jin Mansion. What do you think?"
Finally shifting the topic, Jono was able to calm down.
"No need. Jono doesn't like living with so many people. We are fine at Jin Mansion," Jin Chengyan immediately rejected the idea. He opened the thermos on the table and served some food that looked good, remembering how hard Jono had worked in the afternoon but lacked stamina, so he wanted her to eat more to regain her strength.
"I'm just conveying Mom's opinion. If you refuse, you'll have to talk to her yourself," Jin Mengli said, growing fonder of Jono with each passing moment. In truth, her amnesia didn't affect anything at all.
If Jono could move in with them, it would solidify her position.
Given the passion she almost revealed in the afternoon, if things continued like this, Jono would eventually replace Ruan Shengyu and become the apple of Jin Chengyan's eye!
