Two days later, Jin Chengyan brought Jono home from the hospital. He felt that hospitals were always crowded and noisy, and he would rather have the doctors and nurses come to Jin Mansion all day than let Jono continue staying there.
A-Shan was driving, while Jono and Jin Chengyan sat in the back seat, facing the streets they had passed by multiple times. Jono did not feel any sense of familiarity.
As they approached the entrance of Jin Mansion, Jin Chengyan pointed to the old building and said, "That is our home."
Our home.
The phrase felt comforting, and Jono's lips curled up slightly as she listened.
During these past few days spent with Jin Chengyan, she felt a profound strangeness toward this world; she couldn't remember anyone and felt as if her past twenty years had been in vain.
However, with Jin Chengyan by her side, everything seemed less significant!
As the car slowly drove past, Jono suddenly caught sight of a car parked by the roadside. A man in the driver's seat and a woman in the passenger seat were kissing!
Feeling a bit shy, she glanced at Jin Chengyan. After all, they had both shared intimate moments together.
Jin Chengyan also noticed the couple inside the car, and his brow instinctively raised.
If he wasn't mistaken, that car belonged to Jasper.
"A-Shan, honk the horn," Jin Chengyan suddenly commanded A-Shan.
A-Shan complied, even though there were no obstacles ahead.
"Beep—" The sharp sound of the horn echoed on the lazy afternoon street, and Jin Chengyan looked at his handiwork with satisfaction.
The man in the car reluctantly released the woman in the passenger seat and turned to catch a glimpse of the vehicle passing by, heading into Jin Mansion.
As the Bentley disappeared from sight, the two men in their respective cars exchanged a brief glance.
Of course, all of this was happening while Jono was still in a fog.
The car drove into Jin Mansion, and Jono stepped out, looking at the architecture around her. The familiar yet strange feeling made her feel somewhat uneasy.
It was frustrating not to be able to remember anything.
"What should I do? I still can't recall anything..." Jono said, a hint of frustration in her voice as she looked at Jin Chengyan. The doctor had suggested that visiting places she used to frequent might help jog her memory, but clearly, Jin Mansion was not doing the trick.
Jin Chengyan ruffled Jono's hair. "It's okay, just go with the flow."
In fact, it might be better for Jono not to remember; at least Jin Chengyan wouldn’t have to use a woman to achieve his goals, which would minimize the harm to Jono.
"Young Master, there's a Mr. Jasper outside who says he wants to visit Young Mistress," the doorman informed Jin Chengyan before they could enter.
Waiting outside to see Jono was Jasper.
Jin Chengyan recalled what he had just seen and replied, "Alright, let him in."
Jono noticed the slightly sinister expression on Jin Chengyan's face and wondered about this side of him. Who exactly was this Jasper?
"Do I know this Jasper who's coming to see me?" Jono asked Jin Chengyan.
Jin Chengyan's expression instantly changed as he looked at Jono with a hint of affection. "Of course I know him; Mr. Ji even sent you a beautiful dress."
"Oh, so he used to have a good relationship with me? Sending dresses, huh?"
"Haha," Jin Chengyan chuckled lightly. "No, your relationship isn't good. This person is cunning and treacherous, always exploiting others' weaknesses and attacking when they're unprepared. His association with you is solely because you are my wife. It's best if you keep your distance from someone like him." Jin Chengyan spoke without a flicker of emotion.
Jono took his words to heart. "So that's the kind of person he is. He must be going against his conscience just to see me..." She shook her head, indicating her lack of fondness for such a heartless individual.
Meanwhile, A-Shan, standing nearby, could only remain silent, pretending not to hear or see his young master's behavior. After all, this was their young master, and being a little willful was acceptable.
"Jono!" A voice called out before the person even arrived, prompting Jono to turn and search for the source.
She spotted a girl running toward her from the entrance, dressed in a light gray wool coat and a white sweater, topped off with a wide-brimmed hat. The girl approached Jono enthusiastically.
Before Jono could react, the girl had already thrown her arms around her!
Jono looked at Jin Chengyan in confusion, unsure whether to embrace the girl or push her away.
"Jono! I heard you were hurt! I wanted to come see you, but your bodyguards were too fierce; I couldn't get through! I had to wait around your house for you to show up. Thank goodness you're okay! You scared me to death!" Xining's tone was exaggerated, but her emotions were genuine.
After learning from Jasper about Jono's incident, she hadn't slept for several days. Jasper had given strict orders that she was not allowed to get involved in the matter, which is why it took so long for her to be permitted to visit Jono.
"I... I'm fine... but could you let go of me first?" Jono gasped as Xining's embrace tightened around her.
Of course, she also noticed the man who had walked in with Xining, the one called Jasper.
It seemed that Jasper was not as cunning and deceitful as Jin Chengyan had described. He wore a light smile on his face, the kind that felt warm and friendly, not someone who would manipulate others to achieve his own goals.
After all, bad people wouldn’t openly label themselves as such.
Since Jin Chengyan said he was not a good person, then he must not be one!
Xining released Jono and carefully examined her from head to toe. Only after confirming that she was alright did she feel relieved.
Faced with Xining's straightforward expression, Jono thought that this little girl should be a good friend of hers. But why had she come with Jasper?
Earlier, she had seen a girl kissing inside a car outside, and it seemed like that girl was wearing a gray overcoat... Was she Jasper's girlfriend?
"I'm sorry, I had an accident and can't remember who you are. I'm really sorry," Jono explained to Xining.
Xining's eyes widened in disbelief; she could hardly believe that amnesia could happen to Jono.
"Jono, do you really not remember me? It's me, Xining! Xining! I'm your best friend!" Xining spoke with a hint of tears in her eyes.
Jasper: "..."
Jin Chengyan: "..."
When did Xining become Jono's best friend? They had only known each other for about a month. Given Jono's personality, it seemed unlikely that she would open up to someone to that extent...
"I'm sorry, I really don't remember..." Facing Xining, Jono could only apologize.
But soon, Xining perked up, "It's okay! Since you don't remember me, let's start over as good friends. We can definitely become inseparable friends again!"
"Thank you, but the one who is inseparable from her is me." With that, Jin Chengyan pulled Jono closer to himself.

Well, he was indeed the one who was inseparable from Jono! They were a couple, sharing the same bed!
At that moment, Jasper had also stood beside Xining. He smiled slightly at Jono, "If you've lost your memory, then I must have forgotten too. Hello, I'm Jasper."
Jasper politely extended his right hand.
Jono glanced at Jin Chengyan, recalling what he had said about Jasper not being a good person. Thus, he hesitated to shake hands.
Jasper noticed Jono's reluctance, which seemed to stem more from Jin Chengyan than from Jono himself. He understood and withdrew his hand.
"Jono, here are some flowers for you. I hope you recover soon." Xining took a bouquet of tulips from Jasper and handed them to Jono.
"Thank you for coming to see me." Just as Jono was about to take the tulips, Xining instead wrapped her arm around Jono's.
"I still can't believe you don't remember me! We went to eat Soup Dumplings together and had milk tea; it was you who took me to the ancient town..." As Xining spoke, she linked arms with Jono and led her inside, continuously recounting their past experiences.
Although they didn't have much of a past together.
Jasper watched the figures of Xining and Jono, his expression softening.
However, when he turned his gaze back to Jin Chengyan, it became much more subdued.
"The Jin Family has done a good job of keeping things under wraps. It took me quite some effort to find out that Xining is very worried about Jono, which is why I took the liberty of bringing her along." He said it was a liberty, but Jin Chengyan couldn't detect any hint of hesitation in his tone.
Jin Chengyan snorted lightly; he simply did not like Jasper. Even though he had been closer to Jono before, that didn’t change his feelings.
"This is the first time I've noticed Young Master Ji showing interest in his sister. If you want to kiss in the car, you might as well find a quieter place where you won't be discovered."
Jasper remained unfazed by being caught kissing Xining; he merely smiled lightly.
"Don't you know? Xining isn't my sister." The implication was clear: even if they were rolling in the sheets, Jin Chengyan had no right to comment. "But I am quite surprised. If Jin Shao knew that Ruan Shengyu was involved in this kidnapping case, how would you choose?"
Both men were testing each other's limits. On such a languid afternoon, two evenly matched men faced off in the garden, their eyes reflecting a determination to defeat one another.
