These words, piercing through the soul and reaching the depths of life, lingered in Jin Chengyan's mind.
Every time he closed his eyes, he could see Jono lying in his arms four years ago, gripping the collar of his suit with blood-stained hands, fiercely declaring those words.
At that moment, her eyes were filled only with hatred.
Jin Chengyan lifted his head and rubbed his shoulders. He had dozed off at his desk earlier but hadn’t slept well.
For four years, he hadn’t slept soundly. He didn’t know if Jono’s curse had truly taken effect; either way, he was tormented.
Knock, knock, knock—The office door was rapped upon. Jin Chengyan rubbed his temples and allowed the person to enter.
Alice placed a document in front of him. “Mr. Jin, the collaboration with the company has been finalized. They will send a representative tomorrow afternoon to sign the contract with us. However, they are still keeping the architect's selection confidential. Is that really okay?”
The Jin Family planned to build a skyscraper in Qin Cheng, aiming to create the tallest building there, which would essentially become a landmark for Qin Cheng. The boss of this company was a middle-aged German woman in her forties. Jin Chengyan had seen her photo and found her somewhat different from the competent woman he had imagined.
"Alright, I'll instruct them to prepare for tomorrow's signing ceremony," Alice said, holding a stack of documents signed by Jin Chengyan as she prepared to leave.
"Alice!" he called out, hesitating slightly.
"Is there anything else, Mr. Jin?" Alice replied with her usual smile. However, upon seeing the hesitant expression on her superior's face, she understood a bit more. "Mr. Jin, there’s still no news from A-Shan."
Jin Chengyan nodded, but his expression had clearly darkened.
Alice chose not to say anything further and quietly exited the office.
It had been four years, Alice thought suddenly.
The explosion four years ago had left no trace of Jono's body; not even a fragment of DNA could be found—he had simply vanished! But at that time, she had been performing surgery! How could anyone escape from such a catastrophic scene?
After all, Ruan Shengyu, who was operating on the fifth floor, hadn’t survived that disaster either. When the bodies were brought out, they were charred beyond recognition!
Yet Jono remained missing!
Some speculated that since the sixth floor was the epicenter of the explosion, Jono might have been obliterated beyond recovery.

"I missed you too!" He planted a kiss on Qiao Lovely's cheek before carrying her over to Jono.
After such a long time apart, Jono felt his eyes welling up as he looked at him. No matter how many years had passed, the softest spot in Jono's heart was still reserved for his brother.
"Welcome back, sis!" Qiao Chen extended his other arm wide open, tilting his head slightly with confidence and emotion.
Unable to hold back any longer, Jono stood up and walked over to embrace Qiao Chen.
Qiao Chen held Jono tightly, one arm around each of them. This was what he had longed to see for four years, and he had worked hard for this moment; now it had finally come true.

He was no longer the naive boy he had been four years ago.
