Today, there were two updates. 0

Third nodded solemnly and whispered, "I will." 0

Li the Old Man fell silent. 0

Second, who had already stepped outside, urged him to hurry. The sun was already high in the sky. Third responded with an acknowledgment, threw a punch towards Li the Old Man in farewell, and turned to catch up with the three people ahead. 0

The three in front were heavily burdened, carrying loot taken from the 'hollow mountain.' It was a stroke of luck that they had managed to come out from inside, and now returning fully loaded made them even more jubilant. 0

They laughed and chatted all the way. 0

Leaning against the wooden gate, Li the Old Man watched their retreating figures and sighed softly. 0

After walking for a while, the sun hung high above, and the three burdened individuals were drenched in sweat. Second remarked, "We can't just walk all the way to Eastern Pass!" After saying this, he realized they had already covered quite a distance. He sighed again and cursed, "Damn it, what a blunder!" 0

Seven chimed in, "Where do we go now to get horses?" 0

"Here they come," Third suddenly said. 0

"What do you mean?" Second asked. Third replied, "The horses are coming. Listen." The noisy chatter instantly quieted down. 0

The sound of galloping hooves grew clearer. Then came a shout: "Surround them!" 0

The group hadn’t even processed what was happening when confusion set in. 0

Third warned, "It's bandits; be careful." 0

The three responded in unison; this was bad news—their lives and possessions might be at risk. Wang Er Gou tightened his grip on his pack and stared at the hundred or so people forming a surrounding circle. 0

"Damn it! We've run into soldiers; it's military bandits," Second muttered. 0

They were pressed against by hundreds of guns, unable to move an inch. Third whispered, "Everyone stay calm; don't act recklessly." 0

Any movement now could turn them into porcupines. The four stood back-to-back, remembering that saying: never turn your back on the enemy to avoid being caught off guard. 0

A gap quickly opened in the Surrounding Circle, revealing two tall horses. On top sat two men dressed in military uniforms. The one at the front shouted, "Come on! Tie them up!" 0

Hearing the command, over a hundred people rushed forward. Second, feeling anxious, yelled, "I dare anyone to try!" He pulled out his gun. 0

The Bearded Officer, a portly man on horseback, exclaimed, "Oh ho! We have a fiery one here. Come on, anyone who dares to resist will be shot on the spot!" 0

The sound of gun bolts being pulled echoed through the air as Third pressed down on Second's gun barrel and exchanged a glance with him. Second took a deep breath; when did anyone dare to point a gun at him? Slowly, he tucked his gun back into his waistband. 0

The Bearded Officer continued issuing orders, "Disarm everyone and tie them up!" 0

As soon as he finished speaking, several soldiers moved in to bind them and searched their bodies thoroughly. 0

A few soldiers, unable to contain their excitement, rushed forward to report to their superior, "Report! We found a lot of gold." 0

Upon hearing this, the officer's eyes lit up as he murmured, "If we can catch a few strong men, we might strike it rich!" The Bearded Officer signaled to the soldiers, who immediately understood and laughed as they stepped back. 0

The officer who had spoken earlier fell silent. 0

The Bearded Officer then commanded, "Take them all away. The four of them are now tightly bound and can only endure whatever comes next." 0

Second struggled against his restraints but received a kick for his trouble. He shouted, "Do you believe I’ll skin you alive?" The soldier was momentarily taken aback by Second's outburst. 0

Recovering quickly, he cursed back, "Kid, you're in deep trouble and still so arrogant! Let me show you what I can do." He was about to make a move when Wang Er Gou timely interjected. 0

"Sir," Wang Er Gou said calmly, gesturing towards the soldier. 0

The soldier paused his actions and retorted gruffly to Wang Er Gou, "What’s it to you?" Nevertheless, he approached Wang Er Gou. 0

Wang Er Gou whispered something in the soldier's ear. The soldier chuckled and reached into one of Wang Er Gou's pockets to pull out a pocket watch, glancing at it briefly. 0

Wang Er Gou said, "Please spare my brother; he doesn't know any better." The soldier was too busy admiring the watch to respond meaningfully. "Alright, alright," he said before walking away. 0

Second was about to speak again when Seven quietly advised him, "Second, a wise man doesn’t suffer losses for the sake of pride." 0

Second let out a sigh, choosing not to speak anymore. 0

"Damn it, I must have run out of luck to escape this ordeal," Second muttered under his breath. 0

A few of them were being pushed towards the Eastern Pass. Along the way, several soldiers guarding them were joking around, sharing crude jokes and laughing. 0

Second quietly asked, "Third, what are we going to do now?" Just as Third was about to respond, a soldier interrupted him. 0

Third speculated in his mind, estimating that there was chaos at the North Gate and Eastern Pass; they were likely rounding up able-bodied men for battle. 0

As expected, they were taken to a military encampment where many new recruits were training, along with several others who were bound. "Damn it, it feels like we've walked into a den of thieves," Seven spat. 0

"Let's wait and see," Second said calmly. 0

The four were not taken to a detention area for conscripts but were instead led directly into a room. 0

Outside, the sun shone brightly, but inside it felt somewhat dim. The usual layout featured a table in the center with two chairs, and additional tables and chairs on either side. 0

Upon entering the room, the person seated at the table told the soldiers, "You may leave now." The soldiers complied with a nod. 0

Then he stepped down to untie the four of them and said, "Gentlemen, I apologize for the lack of hospitality." Second grunted in response, ignoring him. 0

The Bearded Officer approached and remarked, "Why bother being polite? They're just a bunch of prisoners." 0

The officer who had untied them replied, "No need to be rude; they are now my esteemed guests." 0

The ropes fell to the ground. After being bound for so long, the four felt uncomfortable but began to stretch their limbs once freed. 0

Second took the lead and unceremoniously found a seat at the table. 0

The officer named Zhou Li asked, "May I inquire where you gentlemen hail from?" 0

Wang Er Gou felt a sense of unease wash over him as if he understood something deeper. Third pondered for a moment. Yet none of the four spoke up. 0

"Bring me some tea!" Zhou Li shouted. Two soldiers quickly brought in four cups of tea. 0

Second took a sip, feeling frustrated, and decided to drink some tea to calm his nerves. 0

"I'm not going to beat around the bush; let's talk calmly," Zhou Li said. 0

Third responded affirmatively. The mood among the group began to settle. It was only then that they turned their attention to the two officers: one was a middle-aged man with a bushy beard, and the other was a young man with a fairly handsome face. 0

Second exclaimed, "What do you want to discuss?" 0

Zhou Li looked at everyone and said, "We're all reasonable people here, so there's no need for secrecy." 0

In these times, who would have thought of running around fighting battles? To be honest, my brother and I used to be involved in Tomb Raiding. 0

Later, through a series of unexpected events, we ended up as soldiers. 0

The middle-aged Bearded Officer confidently interjected, "We are the one hundred thirty-eighth generation direct descendants of the Tomb Raiding Sect." 0

Zhou Li coughed twice, prompting him to immediately stop speaking. 0

Upon hearing the words "Tomb Raiding Sect," Wang Er Gou glanced at the middle-aged man. 0
