Wang Chao instructed, "Make sure to only open the door when you hear my voice. No matter who it is, do not open the door, understood?"
"I understand. Be careful," Yang Mengying said, holding onto Yiyi with a worried expression.
"Uncle, Uncle, Yiyi will wait for you to come back," little Yiyi chimed in with her sweet voice.
Wang Chao felt warmth in his heart as he grabbed two kitchen knives and stepped outside.
Wang Chao and Yang Mengying rented an apartment on the sixth floor, while Yiyi's home was on the seventh. Yiyi's mother was a strong woman who raised Yiyi alone. Every day when she went to work, she would bring Yiyi here. Sister Yiyi was still a university student and was Wang Chao's sister. It was said that school wasn't fun, so she decided to come home instead.
As it turned out, Sister Yiyi met a senior at school. Although their romantic sparks didn't fly, it left Wang Chao with quite a mess to deal with, as he ended up taking care of Yiyi most of the time.
Damn it, she was still his sister; Wang Chao couldn't just stand by and do nothing. He tiptoed up to the seventh floor. The door to Yiyi's house was ajar, and after glancing around without noticing anything unusual, he let out a sigh of relief. Upon entering Sister Yiyi's home, he saw clothes scattered everywhere.
It seemed that girls had a habit of leaving their clothes in disarray. Wang Chao couldn't help but feel a bit disdainful; even the goddess in others' eyes was like this at home. He checked several rooms but found no zombies. Finally, he stood before Sister Yiyi's bedroom door.
God forbid a zombie bursts out! With that thought in mind, Wang Chao gently knocked on the door. There was no response, so he knocked harder. Being so close to the bedroom door, his knock elicited a faint "ow" from inside.
Wang Chao's heart sank; his sister might have turned into a zombie!
He tightened his grip on the knives and gritted his teeth. With Sister Yiyi's fiery personality, even if she were dead, she wouldn't want to become a zombie. If that were the case, then let her senior finish her off. Wang Chao kicked the door hard, and it swung open with a thud.
What greeted him was a zombie without pants, still hanging onto its manhood. Wang Chao felt nauseated; after living for over twenty years, he had seen many things but never a zombie like this. He thought nothing could be more disgusting than this sight.
Without hesitation, Wang Chao swung one knife at the zombie's neck. This poor creature was probably the most wronged zombie ever; unable to pull up its pants meant it had no fighting capability at all—standing up was already difficult for it, let alone eating people! After dealing with this one, Wang Chao looked inside.
To his horror, there truly were things more disgusting than seeing a zombie's private parts.
On the bed lay a woman sprawled out in an X shape—completely naked from the waist down. Wang Chao could see everything clearly. If this were before, he would have been nosebleeding by now; however, now he noticed that this woman's stomach had been torn open and she was still alive, writhing on the bed and making terrifying sounds. The reason she couldn't fall off was that her limbs were tied to the headboard and foot of the bed.
Looking around at the items scattered about—whips and candles—Wang Chao could guess what these two had been up to before they turned into zombies.
At that moment, Wang Chao finally couldn't hold back any longer and vomited. He regretted coming in; what kind of situation was this? He never imagined his sister could be such an open person—how had he not noticed before? Shaking his head, Wang Chao took one last look at the woman.
I never expected your hobby to be so twisted.
"Yiyi, I'll take care of you."
Goodbye.
With a swift motion, Wang Chao slashed the throat, pulling the curtain over Sister Yiyi's body. Damn it, what kind of situation is this? He pulled out a cigarette and lit it. After experiencing such an event, even the thick-skinned would find it hard to remain indifferent. Just as he was about to take a drag, he suddenly noticed the entrance—the door was wide open! In his haste to check for zombies inside, he had completely forgotten to close the door! After making such a commotion, there was no doubt that zombies would come!
Wang Chao couldn't care less about smoking now; he rushed toward the entrance in a few quick strides.
A mangled hand had already reached in from outside, followed by one face, then two faces, then three. Wang Chao could no longer tell how many zombies were pouring in from outside. Damn it, closing the door now would clearly be futile! With that thought in mind, he quickly turned back.
Damn it, Wang Chao had never hated anyone as much as he hated this dead zombie exposing itself. It was right between the bedroom door—was he going to die? Wang Chao thought about it; damn it, if I die, what will happen to Yang Mengying? What about Yiyi?
Get out of my way!
Wang Chao kicked violently at the exhibitionist zombie. The creature weighed at least one hundred forty pounds, yet it was sent flying by Wang Chao's kick. This little zombie had fulfilled its last mission, buying Wang Chao a moment of time.
Finally, the door was locked from the inside.
Listening to the banging sounds outside, Wang Chao collapsed onto the floor. Trembling, he fumbled in his pocket for his lighter. This time, after several attempts, he still couldn't light the cigarette. He could almost hear his own heartbeat—so loud and clear it felt like it might leap out of his mouth. The sensation of having one foot in hell was something no human should have to endure. As Stephen Chow would say, life’s ups and downs are just too damn thrilling!
However, being able to kick away something weighing over one hundred forty pounds was something Wang Chao had never dared to imagine before. He clenched his fist and felt that his strength seemed greater than before. With a punch, he slammed his fist into the floor; the floor showed no reaction at all. Damn it, that really hurt!
But this strength—it seemed greater than before? Was he about to ascend to immortality? Wang Chao thought excitedly.
Yet soon after, he calmed down. Even if he could punch through the floor, he couldn't withstand so many zombies outside. How ironic! Right now, he was trapped in this room with nothing—no balls to play with and no food or water. Even if he wasn't eaten by zombies, he'd die of thirst here.
The night hid deadly dangers.
“Why hasn’t Wang Chao come back yet?” Yang Mengying sat on the floor, feeling helpless. “Could it be that he… no way!”
“Sister, why hasn’t Uncle come back yet?” Yiyi asked innocently while munching on some cookies.
"He... he might not come back," Yang Mengying said, unsure of how to express the situation.
"Uncle will come back," Yiyi chimed in. "Because Uncle is a hero. I remember when that chubby kid in our class took my toy, it was Uncle who helped me get it back. My sister said he's a strange uncle, but I think he's a great hero!"
Looking into Yiyi's watery eyes, Yang Mengying felt a sense of reassurance wash over her. "You're right, Yiyi. Uncle is a great hero, and he will come back."
If Wang Chao knew that he was considered a hero by Yiyi just for helping her retrieve her toy, he wondered what he would think about it. At that moment, however, Wang Chao felt quite calm. The thumping sounds outside continued relentlessly. Damn it, couldn't they let him live? Did Zombies not need to sleep? Did Zombies not need to use the restroom?
That's right, Zombies didn't sleep and didn't need to use the restroom.
But Wang Chao was not a Zombie.
Was he really just supposed to wait for death?
