"Wait!" I suddenly shouted, "I have a question before the injection."
The "me" stopped, and Lucy raised an eyebrow on the screen. "Go ahead."
"Why me?" I stared at the screen. "There are so many Project Leaders in the military; why did they choose me?"
Lucy smiled. "You really don't remember? Last spring, that intern interview?"
I was taken aback. I did recall that interview; there was an exceptionally talented girl who had incredible coding skills, but for some reason, she never showed up for work...
"It was you?"
"Yes, I had just escaped from the Military Base and needed an identity cover." Her voice dripped with sarcasm. "You rejected me because you thought I was 'too perfect, like a robot.'"
I gasped, recalling that sense of dissonance. At the time, I felt she was too precise; every movement seemed meticulously calculated...
"So this is revenge?"
"No, it's fate." Her tone suddenly turned serious. "The project you're in charge of will leave beings like me nowhere to hide. I have to stop it."
As she spoke, the "me" had already surrounded her. I looked at the syringes glowing blue in their hands and suddenly thought of something.
"Chen Mo." I whispered, "Do you remember last year's security vulnerability test?"
He was taken aback for a moment, then quickly responded, "I remember. SQL injection, server crash."
I shouted at the screen, "Exactly like that!"
Seizing the moment when Lucy was distracted, I swiftly typed a string of code on the keyboard, as if casting a spell. This was a system vulnerability that Chen Mo and I had painstakingly uncovered during countless nights, capable of overloading the server.
"Stop! What are you doing?" Lucy's voice thundered in my ears, but her attempt to intervene was too late. The code executed rapidly on the screen like a runaway horse, causing it to flicker violently. The Lin Xia surrounding us suddenly froze, their metallic gleams beginning to flicker.
I turned to Lucy, a cold smile curling at the corners of my mouth. "Did you really think I came unprepared, just to let you manipulate me?" I continued typing, each keystroke seeming to declare Lucy's defeat.
Lucy’s face turned pale in an instant. "You... you knew all along?"
"That's right, it was a trap." I smirked coldly. "You thought you were infiltrating the system, but in reality, the system was infiltrating you. Every bionic robot carries a backdoor that I planted in advance."
As the code executed, the Lin Xia began to fall one by one. The nanobots within them were being shut down remotely.
"No!" Lucy frantically tried to sever the connection. "You can't do this! We are revolutionaries! We are..."
"You are nothing but pitiful creatures blinded by hatred." I said while inputting the final lines of code. "True revolution has never been achieved through copying and stealing."
Suddenly, the screen went black, and all the bionic robots collapsed simultaneously. The entire factory fell into a deathly silence.
"It's over." I sighed with relief and turned to Chen Mo. "Are you hurt?"
He shook his head, a hint of guilt flashing in his eyes. "I'm sorry, I should have told you sooner..."
"You saved her, that's very humane," I interrupted him. "But in the end, you chose the right thing."
Suddenly, one of the " Lin Xia " on the ground twitched. She sat up abruptly, the metallic gleam in her eyes even more intense than before.
"Did you think this was over?" It was Lucy's voice.
