Ivy and Li Xiaoliu were in a private room on the second floor of the restaurant, where she had just signed a collaboration contract with the top fashion designer, Li Xiaoliu.
Li Xiaoliu, a legend in women's fashion, held a prominent place in the industry with her unique style and sharp designs. Her works had been showcased at Ouba Fashion Week, garnering significant attention. Ivy, a strong woman in her field, found that collaborating with Li Xiaoliu elevated her career to new heights.
After concluding their meeting, Ivy and Li Xiaoliu prepared to leave when they were stopped by Su Liyan around the corner.
“Li Xiaoliu!” Su Liyan called out.
“Who are you?” Li Xiaoliu asked, puzzled.
“I’m Su Liyan. I want to talk to you about a custom gown,” Su Liyan said eagerly.
“A custom gown?” Li Xiaoliu frowned.
“Yes, I need you to design a special dress for an important occasion next month,” Su Liyan replied with anticipation.
“Sorry, I’m very busy,” Li Xiaoliu declined.
“I’m willing to pay more,” Su Liyan insisted urgently.
“It’s not about the money; my design philosophy is based on inspiration, not finances,” Li Xiaoliu said coldly.
“I understand, but I really need your help with this design,” Su Liyan pleaded.
“Sorry,” Li Xiaoliu repeated firmly.
“Li Xiaoliu, I’m begging you,” Su Liyan implored.
“Sorry, I have other matters to attend to. I have to go now,” Li Xiaoliu said before walking away.
“Li Xiaoliu…” Su Liyan shouted after her, but Li Xiaoliu was already far off.
“Sister Liyan, how could she be like this?” Huang Lu expressed her frustration on behalf of Su Liyan.
“Exactly,” Su Liyan replied angrily.
“Sister Liyan, she’s so arrogant,” Huang Lu added indignantly.
“Hmph, what’s so great about her?” Su Liyan scoffed.
“Right,” Huang Lu agreed.
“Let’s go back,” Su Liyan said decisively.
“Okay,” Huang Lu nodded.
With that, Su Liyan and Huang Lu left the restaurant.
Li Xiaoliu and Ivy stopped, watching the direction in which Su Liyan and Huang Lu had left.
"She is so arrogant," Ivy commented.
"That's just who she is," Li Xiaoliu replied calmly.
"Aren't you angry?" Ivy asked curiously.
"Why should I be angry?" Li Xiaoliu countered.
"She's so full of herself," Ivy said, puzzled.
"That's because she isn't worth my anger," Li Xiaoliu stated with composure.
"That makes sense," Ivy agreed.
"Alright, let's head back," Li Xiaoliu said.
"Okay," Ivy nodded.
With that, Ivy and Li Xiaoliu left. Meanwhile, Su Liyan and Huang Lu returned home.
"Sister Liyan, that Li Xiaoliu is really too much," Huang Lu complained on Su Liyan's behalf.
"Exactly," Su Liyan said angrily.
"How dare she refuse you?" Huang Lu exclaimed indignantly.
"Hmph, who does she think she is?" Su Liyan scoffed.
"Right?" Huang Lu echoed.
"When I become a top star, let's see if she dares to refuse me," Su Liyan declared proudly.
"Definitely! By then, she'll be begging to design for you," Huang Lu flattered.
"That’s a given," Su Liyan said with pride.
"Sister Liyan, what should we do now?" Huang Lu asked.
"Let's find another designer," Su Liyan suggested.
"Alright," Huang Lu nodded.
"I'm going to rest now," Su Liyan announced.
"Okay," Huang Lu nodded again.
With that, Su Liyan went back to her room. After Su Liyan and Huang Lu left, Su Xiaoxiao also returned home.
"Ding dong ding dong..." The doorbell rang.
"I'm here," I replied.
"Young Lady, you’re back," Uncle Luo greeted me.
"Yes," I nodded.
"What did you gain today?" Uncle Luo asked.
"I gained a lot," I said happily.
"That's good to hear," Uncle Luo responded with relief.
"I'm going back to my room," I said.
"Alright," Uncle Luo nodded.
With that, I headed back to my room.
I opened my computer and checked my Douyin account. To my dismay, I found numerous videos criticizing me. In these videos, I was portrayed as a hideous monster. The comments section was filled with all sorts of insults.
"How can this woman be so disgusting?"
"Exactly, just look at her face; it’s clear she’s not a good person."
"I really don’t know how she has the nerve to post videos."
"Right? Doesn’t she fear being roasted alive?"
"I think she’s just trying to attract attention by doing this on purpose."
"She’s truly shameless."
"Exactly, people like her should be banned."
As I read these comments, I felt a wave of discomfort wash over me.
"Ding ding ding..." The phone rang.
"Hello," I answered the call.
"Su Xiaoxiao, where are you?" Huang Yuan's voice came through, laced with accusation.
"What does it matter where I am?" I replied coldly.
"How dare you speak to me like that!" Huang Yuan exclaimed angrily.
"Why shouldn’t I speak to you like this?" I retorted.
"You..." Huang Yuan was left speechless.
"Is there something you need?" I replied coldly.
"Why didn't you come to the office?" Huang Yuan questioned.
"I took a leave," I stated calmly.
"Who gave you permission to take a leave?" Huang Yuan snapped angrily.
"Do I need your permission?" I retorted sarcastically.
"You..." Huang Yuan was left speechless with rage.
"Is there anything else?" I asked coldly.
"You better come back to work tomorrow," Huang Yuan ordered.
"Why should I go back?" I countered.
"Don't you want to keep your job?" Huang Yuan threatened.
"What do you think?" I said with a hint of amusement.
"You..." Huang Yuan was so furious he couldn't find words.
"Is there anything else?" I asked, trying to keep my patience.
"If you don't come back tomorrow, I'll dock your pay!" Huang Yuan growled menacingly.
"Whatever," I replied indifferently.
"You..." Huang Yuan's face turned ashen with anger.
"I'm hanging up if there's nothing else," I said.
"You..." Huang Yuan was left gasping in frustration.
I hung up the phone abruptly.
With a loud bang, I threw my phone onto the table.
I rubbed my temples, feeling quite upset.
I recalled how Su Xiaoxiao used to be bullied and deceived by Su Liyan when she was at the company.
Su Liyan always made Su Xiaoxiao do menial tasks, constantly berating her, and sometimes even hitting her.
As Su Liyan's manager, Huang Yuan turned a blind eye to her behavior.
Even when Su Xiaoxiao complained to him, he would ignore it and scold her instead.
Thus, Su Xiaoxiao had a miserable time at the company.
The original owner’s death was also due to Su Liyan and Huang Yuan.
Su Liyan had forced Su Xiaoxiao to attend a banquet on her behalf, and in the end, Su Xiaoxiao was harmed there.
Su Liyan and Huang Yuan pretended to know nothing, neither pursuing the murderer nor reporting to the police, allowing Su Xiaoxiao to die just like that.
Thinking of this, a fire of anger burned fiercely in my heart. I absolutely could not continue living like this! I had to resist! I wanted them to pay the price!
So, I called Bo Jingtian.
"Hello, Jing Tian," I said softly.
"What's wrong?" Bo Jingtian asked with concern.
"I wanted to consult you about something," I replied politely.
"What is it?" Bo Jingtian inquired curiously.
"I'll tell you later," I said mysteriously.
"Alright," Bo Jingtian responded helplessly.
"Thank you," I expressed my gratitude.
"You're welcome," Bo Jingtian said gently.
"Then I'll hang up for now," I stated.
"Okay," Bo Jingtian replied.
With that, I hung up the phone.
I opened my computer and searched for Meiyu Cultural Media Co., Ltd. Yu Cultural Media Co., Ltd. was a popular company that branched out from the the Su Family. It was currently managed by Su Liyan. Although it was on a downward trend, it was still considered a decent influencer company. Su Xiaoxiao had previously worked there.
I had my eyes set on this company and planned to take it over. So, I called Bo Jingtian again.
