Yun Qingyu frowned slightly, a glint of cold light flashing in her eyes as she coldly regarded the guards of the Third Prince before her, as if she were looking at a group of corpses.
The guards were visibly intimidated by Yun Qingyu's gaze, exchanging anxious glances and trembling slightly, yet they steeled themselves to speak. "Your Highness's guards injured the prince; this is an act of rebellion and should be punished."
A mocking smile curled at the corners of Yun Qingyu's lips as she leisurely drew the whip from her waist. The whip coiled in her hand like a serpent, and she looked at the Third Prince with an icy demeanor, her voice chilling. "Who wants to come first?"
It was clear she was determined to protect her own. In Western Chu, few could match Yun Qingyu in a fight.
Seeing this, the Third Prince suppressed his rising anger. He knew well how formidable Yun Qingyu was; if things escalated, he would not come out unscathed either. Thus, he ordered coolly, "You all step back!"
Upon hearing the command, the guards quickly sheathed their swords and retreated.
The Third Prince gritted his teeth against the pain in his arm, which felt as if it were shattering, and approached Yun Qingyu. His gaze was cold and wary as he looked at Xin Yao standing beside her. "Sister Seven, your servant is quite well-trained under your guidance!"
Yun Qingyu replied nonchalantly, "Indeed, Third Prince. Just remember to keep your distance from me in the future; otherwise, next time it might not just be an injury—one of your hands might truly be broken."
Hearing Yun Qingyu's words warmed Xin Yao's heart.
As a shadow guard, his duty was to protect the princess at all costs. Now that he was being defended by her in such a manner, a feeling he had never experienced began to blossom within him.
The Third Prince suddenly felt that his royal sister's aura seemed even more powerful than before; he pondered this inwardly.
Thinking about his difficult situation in the struggle for succession and Yun Qingyu's recent elevation to Eldest Princess, along with her headstrong temperament and the enmity they had recently formed, he took a deep breath. He understood that until the Crown Prince position was secured, he could not afford to offend her again.
Yun Qingyu had already walked out of Lu's Mansion with Xin Yao, preparing to get into the carriage to return home.
The Third Prince had come here today specifically to see Yun Qingyu, and he was naturally unwilling to watch her leave without doing anything.
He hurriedly strode to the front of the carriage and called out, "Sister Seven!"

With that, she reached out to pull down the curtain of the carriage. The Third Prince wanted to argue further, but before he could speak, Xin Yao had already swiftly taken his seat at the front of the carriage. He grasped the whip and cracked it sharply, causing the spirited horse to rear up and let out a piercing neigh before galloping away with Yun Qingyu.
"Your Highness, be careful!" a guard rushed forward and pulled the Third Prince back just in time.
Although the Third Prince was not hit by the carriage, he was still quite startled and ended up covered in dust.
His face turned ashen with anger as he glared in the direction where Yun Qingyu had disappeared, shouting furiously, "This is simply outrageous—utterly outrageous!"
At that moment, the newly arrived Sixth Princess lifted the carriage curtain and looked in the direction of the departing carriage, puzzled. "Was that Sister Seven? She just left like that?"
The Third Prince glanced at her with a frown. "Sixth Sister, don't you think Sister Seven has been acting strangely lately?"
