I have been married to my husband, Liu An, for five years, and we have always treated each other with respect.

"There’s an urgent matter at the company; I have to leave. Lulu, please take care of everyone for me."
I nodded in response, but inside I felt quite strange.
The look Liu An had when he read the message didn’t seem like one he would give to work.
Before our wedding, during our passionate romance, Liu An had often gazed at me with that same affectionate look.

Zhao Fan's voice trembled. "About that snorkeling thing, An Ge didn’t swim up by himself; a beautiful woman brought him up. That woman didn’t get on our boat; she just stayed in the water and swam away in a flash."
"Later at the hotel, An Ge said he wanted to stay for a couple more days and told us to go back first. I vaguely heard laughter coming from his room..."
"Sister-in-law, I've told you everything I know. Please don’t expose me in front of An Ge!"
My voice was somewhat hoarse. "Don’t worry, I won’t."
After hanging up the phone, I was overwhelmed with mixed emotions.
I had thought that Liu An had suffered a traumatic experience and felt an urge to care for him even more. Little did I know, he not only had a romantic encounter but also brought the person back with him!
I stared intensely at the entrance of the community, wishing I could rush in and tear apart that couple.
However, the security guard at the gate, armed with a stun baton, watched my car warily, ready to use it on me if I dared to force my way in.
A wise person doesn't take unnecessary risks.
I calmed myself down and turned to leave.
The first thing I did when I got home was hire a lawyer to help me assess the division of marital assets in case of a divorce.
The lawyer informed me that unless the husband agreed voluntarily, the most I could expect was a 50-50 split of the marital property.
After taking stock of our assets, I was shocked to discover that during my year as a housewife, Liu An had secretly transferred some of our assets without my knowledge.
This man is ruthless!
I decided not to act recklessly.
For the sake of the child I was carrying, I took three actions.
The first was to reach out to friends who understood law and business to help me discreetly manage our finances.
The second was to reconnect with former company executives and begin establishing my own influence.
The third thing I did was to take advantage of Liu An's deep sleep to find his keys in that neighborhood and make a copy.
With these three tasks completed, I was ready to confront that woman.
It wasn't that I still cared about Liu An; I just couldn't accept it.
I had helped Liu An rise from a poor boy to accumulate this substantial wealth, and now I was supposed to hand over the fruits of victory to another young and beautiful woman.
Moreover, I wanted to see if I could obtain some leverage from the mistress to force Liu An into a clean break.
While Liu An was on a business trip, I took the keys and went to that neighborhood. I showed the security guard our marriage certificate, and he immediately let me in.
Following the room number on the key, I found the corresponding apartment.
