As the team ventured deeper into the mist, the strange natural phenomena kept everyone on high alert. Trees suddenly bent, the wind howled, as if nature itself was speaking to them. Chu Yun, relying on Lei Ling's perception, led the team to evade the unseen threats.
After a brief calm, a group of mysterious creatures leaped out from behind the trees. These creatures had emerald green skin and eyes that shimmered strangely. Their appearance was not hostile, but rather curious.
Fang Yi immediately opened his ancient books, trying to find records of these creatures. "These should be Forest spirit people," the ancient books mentioned that they are the guardians of the forest, rarely interacting with the outside world.
Liu Qing slowly lowered his sword, signaling to everyone not to launch an attack. He spoke to the Forest spirit people in a gentle tone, "We come in peace, seeking a path through this forest."
A seemingly leader-like Forest spirit responded, his voice like the wind through the leaves: "Outsiders, your arrival disturbs the peace of the forest, but in consideration of your lack of ill intent, we can guide you on a path. However, you must first prove your sincerity."
Yun Xiang gently played a piece on the Xianyin Qin, infusing the music with reverence and praise for nature. This music seemed to ease the guard of the Forest spirit people, who sat down and listened, their wariness gradually fading from their eyes.
Xiao Zhe skillfully shuttled between the team and the Forest spirit people, his light footsteps and friendly demeanor further bridging the gap between the two sides.
When the music ended, the leader of the Forest spirit tribe stood up and pointed to a hidden path: "This path will take you through the forest, but the challenges along the way will require your wisdom and courage. Remember, respect nature, and it will treat you the same way."
The team expresses gratitude for the help of the Forest spirit people and continues to follow the guided path. Along the way, they encounter various natural challenges, including rapids, mazes in the dense forest, and even rapidly growing thorns. Each challenge requires teamwork, utilizing their individual abilities and previously acquired treasures to solve the problems.
As they near the edge of the forest, a huge misty maze appears ahead, seemingly the final test. Chu Yun concentrates their power, unleashing thunderstorm once again, attempting to use the power of lightning to clear the mist ahead and open a path for the team.
As the mist dispersed, a vast expanse of land unfolded before them, symbolizing their successful journey through this mysterious and challenging forest.
When the team stepped through the threshold of the Phantom Ancient City, they were immediately struck by the fantastical and magnificent sight before them. The entire city seemed to float in mid-air, with buildings and streets constantly shifting and distorting, as if each moment was portraying a different historical scene.
Chu Yun took out the Heavenly Illusion Pearl in an attempt to use its power to stabilize the surrounding illusions, allowing the team to discern reality more clearly. She gently rotated the jewel, and the pearl emitted a soft glow, gradually bringing clarity to the surroundings.
Fang Yi was completely focused on studying the ancient texts in his hands, searching for records about the city and methods to decipher the illusions. He pointed to a passage and said, "Here it mentions that the illusions in the ancient city are sustained by an ancient magic array. If we can find and destroy the control center, the illusions will dissipate."
Liu Qing and Yun Xiang were on guard, watching their surroundings in case unexpected illusions suddenly attacked. Liu Qing tightly gripped the hilt of his sword, ready to respond to any potential threats, while Yun Xiang prepared to use the power of the Xianyin Qin to calm any disturbances.
Xiao Zhe used his agile skills to explore possible paths, and his Heart of the Wind gemstone was particularly useful in this illusion-filled environment, helping him perceive the impending changes in spatial flow.
Under Chu Yun's leadership, the team slowly advanced towards the city center. In what seemed like an ordinary square, they discovered a huge crystal ball, inside of which complex lights and runes were flashing, serving as the core of the magic array that controlled the entire illusion.
Fang Yi carefully studied the surrounding runes and guided Liang Xiao to use his Dragon Soul Sword to precisely strike a specific part of the crystal ball. "Right there, use your sword to strike that rune, it should disrupt the control system."
Without hesitation, Liang Xiao made a swift strike, the tip of his sword hitting the rune precisely. The crystal ball emitted a loud noise, followed by a dazzling light. The light flashed and disappeared, causing the entire Phantom Ancient City to start disintegrating, revealing the true appearance of the city.
As the illusion fades, the Discover team finds themselves standing in an ancient and tranquil relic. The true face of the city is a site of long history, with every stone and brick exuding an ancient aura.
Chu Yun gazes at the scene before her and sighs deeply, "The history of this city is even older than we imagined. Every stone carries the brilliance and wisdom into the past." She gently touches a broken mural, trying to sense the memories left behind by this city.
Fang Yi continued to search for the history of this city in ancient texts and was pleasantly surprised to discover a passage: "This city was once a center of a powerful civilization, possessing magical technology far beyond its time, which explains the complex illusions and mechanisms."
The team further explored the ruins, gradually uncovering the hidden secrets of the city. In what seemed like an ordinary square, Xiao Zhe unexpectedly discovered a hidden underground entrance. He deftly moved aside the covering stone slab, revealing a descending stone staircase. With him leading the way, the team cautiously entered the underground tunnel.
The inside of the tunnel is unusually cool, with ancient runes and patterns carved on the walls, vividly depicting the daily life and religious rituals of the ancient civilization. Chu Yun continuously uses the Thunderstone to detect the energy flow ahead, in order to avoid potential traps or hidden dangers.
Yun Xiang, on the other hand, uses his Xianyin Qin to emit subtle sound waves, which resonate in the stone tunnel, providing not only illumination but also helping the team identify hidden mechanical devices and potential threats within the tunnel. His qin music acts like a beam of light, piercing through the darkness of the tunnel and guiding the team to safety.
As they ventured deeper into the tunnel, Fang Yi suddenly stopped and pointed to a blurry relief on the wall. "The relief here depicts an ancient legend about a sorcerer and his mythical beast, who together guarded this city and prevented the invasion of evil forces. This may explain the origin of the illusions in this city."
Liu Qing carefully observed their surroundings, his gaze firm and ready to face any potential crisis. "These stories have given us important clues. This city is not just a relic of civilization, but also a sacred place guarding an ancient power."
Xiao Zhe noticed a peculiar mechanical device hidden behind a massive stone carving. He approached it cautiously, carefully inspecting the structure of the machine. "It seems that this device is connected to the entire tunnel's security system. If we can unlock its mechanism, we might uncover more secrets," he said, gently turning what appeared to be an inconsequential gear.
As the gear turned, a hidden door at the other end of the tunnel suddenly opened, revealing a secret room. The room was well-lit, with a massive crystal ball placed in the center, shimmering with light and seemingly connected to the energy network of the entire city.
Chu Yun walked forward and reached out to touch the crystal ball, feeling a warm energy flow through her body. "This crystal ball seems to store all the memories and knowledge of this city. It may be the key to finding a way out of here," she said.
Guided by the crystal ball, the team began to unravel the secrets of the ancient city, and each member felt that this was an unprecedented adventure. As they gradually uncovered layer after layer of mysteries, the truth of the entire city slowly became clear, revealing not only its past glory but also why it had fallen into oblivion.
