Despite pressing against the stone wall, at the farthest point from the White Phosphorus Fire Sea, we maneuvered around it and the Long-Tailed Monster within. The intense heat generated by the Fire Sea continued to torment us. I felt as if my hair was being scorched, and the exposed skin on my face and arms experienced a severe pain akin to sunburn in the summer, cracking and peeling. 0

The closer we got to the Fire Sea, the louder the sounds of flames and the struggles of the Long-Tailed Monster became, drowning out any noise from our footsteps. I was genuinely worried that Tang Yumo might choose to retreat; if she left this team, there was no way she could escape on her own. No matter how familiar she was with this place, unless she could fly, her only option would be to run around the Flood Barrier. There was no way she could manage that alone. 0

As we ran, I couldn't help but glance back. To my surprise, two people were trailing behind me. What shocked me wasn’t that Tang Yumo hadn’t made a wrong choice, but that Fatty was at the back. 0

Fatty was the first to realize that running back offered no chance of survival; his instinct for self-preservation was undoubtedly stronger than any of ours. His stamina and speed were certainly not inferior to Tang Yumo's, so it puzzled me why he was lagging behind. However, I didn’t have time to ponder this now. Seeing that Tang Yumo had made the right choice, I quickly turned my focus back to escaping. 0

The Long-Tailed Monster thrashed in the Fire Sea, its massive tail swinging aimlessly. It was trapped in the Fire Sea and wasn’t consciously attacking us; it seemed disoriented by the flames. We dashed past one side of the Fire Sea, still in grave danger; its Long-Tailed appendage could easily lash out at us. If it struck, there would be no hope of survival. 0

Fortunately, the fire illuminated our path ahead brightly, allowing us to conserve our energy for watching out for that tail which could appear at any moment. 0

Jack's M16 rifle remained aimed at the direction of the Fire Sea. I did the same; although my pistol lacked power, I was prepared to unleash a barrage of bullets at any Long-Tailed appendage that might show up. 0

Although the Fire Sea was vast, our survival instincts were even stronger. Fortunately, Jack and I managed to cross the Fire Sea safely, one after the other. 0

As soon as we left the scorching heat of the Fire Sea, Jack instinctively turned back, aiming his Muzzle towards the direction of the Fire Sea to cover Fatty and Tang Yumo. 0

I focused my attention on the path ahead. My handgun was insufficient against the massive Long-Tailed Monster. Whether it was this Heimanluo transformed creature or the usual Long-Tailed Monsters, my 9mm pistol would struggle to take down even one, even if I emptied five rounds into it. It was better to do something within my capabilities, like determining an escape route. 0

I switched on the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight to its high beam, illuminating the path ahead in search of the best escape route. Jack and I had run this way before; although we had fled in opposite directions during our two escapes, I still had some impression of this road, which would help me find an easier way out. Especially during our last escape when Jack was barely hanging on to life and we were moving slowly, I had a deep impression of this route, making it easier to identify a safer escape path. 0

Suddenly, a series of gunshots rang out behind me. 0

When I turned around, I saw a Long-Tailed Monster rising from the Fire Sea, emitting black smoke as it roared and lunged towards Fatty and Tang Yumo. The two were running closely towards us; it seemed that Tang Yumo was struggling with her stamina while Fatty pushed her from behind. 0

However, they were too close together; if that Long-Tailed Monster struck downwards, it would be hard for either of them to escape unscathed. 0

The Long-Tailed Monster sliced through the air with a sharp whistle, reminiscent of a whistle I had heard before. The gunfire was as dense as a hailstorm, with bullets concentrated on a specific point at the base of the Long-Tailed Monster's tail. It seemed Jack intended to sever that tail and completely eliminate this threat. 0

The Long-Tailed Monster generated by Heimanluo is vastly different from a true Long-Tailed Monster. If it were a genuine Long-Tailed Monster, such dense and precise bullets would ensure that even if they couldn't sever its tail instantly, they would at least render it useless, turning it into a mere decoration or even a burden. 0

However, the Long-Tailed Monster created by Heimanluo possesses the most powerful characteristic of Heimanluo: regeneration. This regenerative ability occurs almost instantaneously. In the blinding White Phosphorus Fire Sea, I clearly saw the bullets penetrate the Long-Tailed Monster's tail, but the bullet holes were not fully through. Even before the bullets could completely pierce its tail, the entry wounds had already begun to regenerate. 0

Jack and I had experienced this property of Heimanluo before. The last time we were pursued by Heimanluo, we suffered greatly from this ability. No matter how much we burned it or shot at it, even if we split it in half, it could instantly reassemble itself, seemingly impervious to any physical attack. 0

Jack's magazine of bullets did not change the direction of the Long-Tailed Monster's thrashing tail; if anything, it only slightly delayed its speed. 0

In the brief moment while Jack was reloading, my handgun fired. Even a slight delay was valuable; after all, we were racing against death. 0

Before my handgun's bullets were exhausted, Jack's M16 spat fire once more. However, this time he did not aim for the Long-Tailed Monster's tail but instead unleashed a barrage of bullets directly at the body of the Long-Tailed Monster within the Fire Sea. 0

It seemed Jack was dissatisfied with the efficiency of shooting its tail and sought to improve it by changing tactics. He succeeded. 0

In an instant, as Jack's M16 bullets rained down on the body of the Long-Tailed Monster, its raised tail arced through the air and swung horizontally toward Jack and me. 0

Caught off guard by this sudden turn of events, both Jack and I were momentarily stunned. The sharp whistling sound and smoke-emitting tail rushed toward us in an instant. 0

Amidst Jack's furious curses, I shouted at the top of my lungs, "Jump rope!" 0

I couldn't care less about him anymore. Who knows if the American Guy could understand what I just said? After shouting, I found myself inexplicably excited and leaped into the air. 0

I could clearly feel the Long-Tailed sweeping beneath me, the tremendous wind and piercing sound it created made me feel as if I were being swept up like a train rushing past. For a moment, I felt as if I was being lifted into the air. 0

However, this sensation was quickly disproven by gravity and the Severe Pain of hitting the ground. 0

The deafening roar faded away like a train speeding off, almost instantaneously. But another sound filled the void, causing my heart to tremble. It was Jack's voice, a heart-wrenching scream. 0

"Ah! My leg!" 0

My heart instantly turned cold. I knew that steel-like tail, combined with the speed of a train, was enough to bisect anyone, let alone sever a leg. 0
