"Let's do better than those two." 0

"Of course, losing to the American Guy is just as embarrassing as losing to a girl." Fatty grinned proudly. "Watch me blow its head off and make it stare at me with that weird eye." 0

I didn't expect Jack and Tang Yumo to deal such a heavy blow to the Humanoid Monster, which gave me confidence that we could defeat or even take down Heimanluo. I didn't think my confidence was overly inflated; the facts were clear. 0

The Humanoid Monster had indeed been battered by Jack and Tang Yumo, looking disheveled and on the verge of collapse. 0

Although the massive Humanoid Monster stumbled, its strides were so large that it quickly appeared before us. 0

As the Humanoid Monster approached, Fatty began to run towards it, charging at the giant creature. 0

I couldn't let him take the risk alone. Even though this behemoth was already injured, a single hit could easily cost Fatty his life. I moved from the other side, closer to the stone wall, circling around to run towards the Humanoid Monster. This way, we could flank it, making it harder for the monster to defend itself while also providing support for each other. 0

I stowed away my White Phosphorus Incendiary Grenade, gripping the safety lever of a Grenade in my left hand while pulling out my handgun with my right. 0

Jack's M16 assault rifle hadn't dealt a significant blow to the Humanoid Monster; their success against Heimanluo was mainly due to Grenades and incendiary devices. My handgun certainly wouldn't be able to take down a humanoid monster either. However, the accuracy of a handgun was unmatched by Grenades or incendiary devices. My target was its eye. If I could blind it in one eye, it would make our task much easier. 0

After a brief run-up, Fatty confidently jumped onto a broken stone pillar. From that height, he still had to look up to see the Humanoid Monster's head, but compared to being on the ground, his angle and chances of hitting the monster's exposed skull were significantly improved. 0

Of course, when I mentioned hitting it, I meant Fatty throwing a Grenade into the open skull of the Humanoid Monster. And that's exactly what Fatty intended to do. 0

In the moment he leaped onto the stone pillar, Fatty gathered all his strength and threw the Grenade towards the open skull of the Humanoid Monster. Instead of taking evasive action, he drew out the sharp Straight Blade he had honed and stared excitedly at the approaching Humanoid Monster. 0

Excitement and tension surged in my mind. I knew Fatty was playing with fire. The Grenade had a delay of only three to four seconds, and since he didn’t jump off the stone pillar to evade at the moment he threw it, there would be no time left to dodge. 0

I really didn’t understand where his confidence came from. If that Grenade didn’t land accurately in the Humanoid Monster’s empty skull, the shrapnel from the explosion would definitely incapacitate him in an instant. Even if the Grenade did hit its target, the blast could still injure him; they were too close together, and Fatty was in a very obvious position with no cover. 0

I felt my adrenaline spike instantly. Without thinking, I shouted at Fatty, “If you want to die, don’t drag me down with you!” 0

I yelled this to draw the attention of the Humanoid Monster, but my intention fell flat. 0

As the smoking Grenade flew toward the Humanoid Monster’s empty skull, a large hand shot out like lightning and grabbed it. It was one of the Humanoid Monster's hands. 0

I thought back to how badly Jack and Tang Yumo had beaten it. In fact, its other arm had already been severely damaged by them. Below the elbow, it was barely hanging on by a bit of flesh; as it ran, its severed arm swung back and forth grotesquely. I imagined that if it could feel pain, it would have died from agony by now. 0

Even this remaining hand, which could still move, had a broken finger and two gaping holes in its palm—one large enough to let an egg slip through. Yet this hand was surprisingly agile. It caught the flying Grenade. 0

Seeing this scene made my heart drop. 0

I was only worried that Fatty ’s Grenade wouldn’t be accurate enough to land in the Humanoid Monster’s empty skull; I never expected that the Humanoid Monster would resist at all, let alone with such precision and intent. This was based on my understanding of Heimanluo. 0

Through this entry into the Underground Cavern and my encounters with Heimanluo, I discovered that it possessed the ability to morph. It seemed to have completely abandoned its most primitive lichen form, preferring to switch between various shapes it was ill-suited for rather than reverting to a form it was already adept at and familiar with. 0

However, whether it transformed into the Prehistoric Crocodile, the Long-Tailed Monster, or Tang Yumo, its ability to adapt to and master the new body was still rudimentary, unable to utilize even the basic capabilities of its new form. This was likely our greatest advantage in defeating it. 0

Yet the scene before us seemed to indicate that Heimanluo was quickly adapting to this new body and could now maneuver it with a degree of agility. This was nothing short of a disaster for us. 0

The hand gripping the Grenade was tight. However, through the gaps in its mangled fingers and the holes in its palm, one could clearly see the Grenade inside, emitting wisps of black smoke. The Humanoid Monster appeared to revel in its newfound ability to maneuver this body, seemingly more surprised than we were at being able to grasp the Grenade in mid-air. It held the Grenade with a sense of intoxication, bringing it closer to its single eye, which gleamed with excitement. 0

But its expression of exhilaration lasted only a few seconds. 0

“Bang!” 0

With a deafening explosion, the Humanoid Monster's hand and its remaining eye vanished under the shrapnel from the Grenade's blast. 0

Fatty also disappeared in that instant. At such close range, there was no way he could escape unscathed. 0

I had maneuvered to one side of the Humanoid Monster, positioning myself closer than Fatty. However, I did not fully expose myself to the explosion radius of the Grenade; I could find cover on the Ground. Although my vantage point was not as good as Fatty's, some things were obvious without needing to see them unfold. So at the moment the Humanoid Monster grasped the Grenade, I quickly hid behind a rock. 0

“ Fatty! Are you still alive?!” I shouted hoarsely as Fatty and his One-Eyed Beast Flashlight vanished simultaneously. 0

“My Flashlight is broken.” 0

“Forget about your Flashlight for now. Is your head intact?” 0

“Are you wishing death upon me? I'm tough; I won't die easily. Damn it, I think I got disfigured.” 0

“Well then, that's good. If your honor isn't ruined, just consider it cosmetic surgery.” 0

"Dammit. Don't shine that light on me. I'll throw a grenade at it. This time, I'll make sure it goes right into its head." 0

Hearing Fatty's tone, I realized he was dead set on confronting the Humanoid Monster. I quickly rolled out from behind the rock, lifted my head, and aimed the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight at Heimanluo. 0

I underestimated Heimanluo's resilience and regenerative abilities. Losing one hand and its remaining eye did not stop the Humanoid Monster from advancing; it was almost parallel to me on the ground. 0

Fatty jumped back onto the broken stone pillar once again. I imagined he must be regretting his hasty decision to leap out without seeing what lay before him. Because right in front of him was a massive figure, almost within reach. 0
