When she woke up, the world before her had completely changed. The house was larger than before, and the decor was more exquisite. 0

Liu Yuan got out of bed, looking at the unfamiliar environment in confusion. She remembered lying down to sleep around eleven o'clock; how did she end up here when she woke up? 0

Just as she was at a loss, her phone rang. Picking it up, she froze. It wasn't her phone. 0

Opening WeChat, the latest message was from someone named Li Li: "I've arrived, where are you?" 0

Liu Yuan felt even more bewildered. Before she could respond, another voice message came through: "Yuan Yuan, I'm downstairs at your place buying something, just wait a moment." 0

That voice... 0

A jolt ran through Liu Yuan as she held her phone, staring blankly for a while. It wasn't until her legs started to ache that she slowly moved to the edge of the bed and sat down. After taking a moment to collect herself, she finally understood. 0

She had likely crossed into a book. 0

She had become the ex-wife of the male lead in a novel titled "Sweetheart's Pet." The story revolved around the male lead, Chen Yan, who divorced his wife Liu Yuan and left with their daughter. Three years later, he encountered a little girl who was about the same age as his ex-wife's daughter, leading to a series of events. 0

The point in time Liu Yuan had crossed into was shortly after the divorce. 0

Rubbing her temples, she recalled the plot. In the book, Chen Yan and Liu Yuan's marriage began with an accident. After more than a year of marriage, their feelings faded, and they failed to communicate effectively, leading to increasing estrangement. Ultimately, Liu Yuan chose to divorce him. 0

During the divorce proceedings, she discovered she was pregnant. Initially intending to terminate the pregnancy, she changed her mind upon feeling her belly at the hospital. So, keeping it a secret from everyone, she gave birth to the child. 0

For over three years after the divorce, she raised the child alone until Chen Yan discovered the child's existence. 0

Liu Yuan felt somewhat speechless. If she had to cross into a book, why did it have to be as the male lead's ex-wife? She despised such tropes the most. Wasn't it enough for the female lead to be beautiful and independent after the divorce? Why did there have to be any connection with the male lead? 0

Though frustrated, there was nothing she could do but accept it now that it had happened. Liu Yuan set her phone down and stood up to take a look around the room. 0

There was no sign of the little girl. As she walked to the door, about to go outside to look for her, a strange noise suddenly came from under the sofa. Liu Yuan went over and crouched down to peek beneath the couch. 0

A delicate little girl was lying there, holding a paper airplane and blowing on it with all her might. 0

"Beibei?" 0

Hearing her name, the little girl looked up, blinking her big eyes. "Mommy?" 0

Liu Yuan was charmed by her adorable appearance and couldn't help but laugh. "What are you doing?" 0

Beibei raised the paper airplane in her hand. "Shh—don't talk!" 0

Amused by her cuteness, Liu Yuan stopped asking questions and lay down on the floor to watch her fold the paper airplane. 0

After finishing one, Beibei held it above her head and gently waved it forward. The paper airplane shot out with a whoosh. 0

Excited, she climbed up to retrieve it, but when she turned around and saw Liu Yuan still lying on the ground watching her, she asked curiously, "Mommy, why aren't you getting up?" 0

Liu Yuan pushed herself up and sat on the sofa, pulling Beibei onto her lap. The little girl was puzzled by her mother's actions and tilted her head, asking, "Mommy, what's wrong?" 0

"Nothing at all," Liu Yuan said as she kissed Beibei's cheek. "I just suddenly think that Beibei is so cute!" 0

"What does cute mean?" 0

"It means Mommy really really likes Beibei." 0

Feeling shy from her mother's affection, Beibei covered her face and giggled. "I like Mommy too." 0

Beibei was two years old this year, just at the age where everything was fun. The more Liu Yuan looked at her daughter, the cuter she seemed, and she finally understood why the original owner insisted on having a child. 0

Feeling shy under her mother's gaze, Beibei struggled to get off Liu Yuan's lap and ran behind the sofa to hide. Peeking over the back of the couch with just her little head showing, she asked, "Mommy, why do you keep staring at me?" 0

Seeing the serious expression on the little girl's face made Liu Yuan unable to resist teasing her. "Because Mommy likes you." 0

Beibei blushed at her mother's words and covered her small face, too shy to show herself. 0

Liu Yuan looked at her daughter's adorable demeanor and felt her heart melt completely. 0

After hiding for a while and seeing that Mommy had no intention of leaving, Beibei couldn't help but ask, "Mommy, why aren't you talking?" 0

Liu Yuan chuckled at being teased. "What should Mommy say then?" 0

Beibei tilted her head in thought. "I don't know." 0

Liu Yuan found her daughter's cuteness amusing and couldn't help but pinch her cheek gently. "Mommy just woke up and is a bit dazed." 0

Nodding like a little adult with an understanding expression, Beibei said, "I know; Mommy is still sick." 0

Liu Yuan paused for a moment before realizing what she meant. 0

The original owner must still be recovering from a cold. She gently patted Beibei's head and said, "Yes, Mommy is still sick, so I feel a bit strange." 0

Beibei, being clever for her age, immediately understood and replied, "Then Mommy, you need to rest well and not tire yourself out." 0

Liu Yuan smiled and nodded, "I will." 0

Beibei hid behind the sofa while Liu Yuan sat on it, and they chatted casually. After a while, they heard the sound of the door opening outside. 0

Beibei's ears perked up, and she quickly ran out from behind the sofa to greet at the door, "Godmother!" 0

Liu Yuan got up and walked to the door, where she saw a woman with long hair carrying two large bags entering. It was Li Li, a close friend of the original owner. 0

As soon as Li Li stepped inside, she spotted Liu Yuan standing there and couldn't help but exclaim, "You finally woke up! You have no idea how high your fever was yesterday..." 0

Before she could finish her sentence, she noticed Liu Yuan's attire and asked in surprise, "Yuan Yuan, what happened to you?" 0

Liu Yuan looked down and realized she was still in her pajamas. Feeling a bit awkward, she tugged at the hem of her shirt and said, "I didn't have any clothes to wear, so I put on my pajamas." 0

Li Li set the bags down on the table and walked over to circle around Liu Yuan. "This pajama looks great! How come I've never seen you wear it before?" 0

Liu Yuan chuckled nervously, "I just bought it a couple of days ago." 0

Li Li nodded without giving it much thought and moved to the table to open one of the bags. "I brought you some food. Wait here; I'll get you a bowl." 0

Liu Yuan responded affirmatively and helped at the table. 0

Li Li ladled some porridge into a bowl and brought it to Liu Yuan. "Try this; I heard this place has really good porridge." 0

Liu Yuan took the bowl and tasted it. Her eyes lit up. "It's really delicious!" 0

Seeing that she liked it made Li Li very happy. "I told you! This place has a great reputation." 0

The two sat down to eat while Beibei happily munched on her favorite snacks beside them. 0

Li Li looked at Liu Yuan and felt that something about her was different today, but she couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she asked, "Yuan Yuan, have you had any good news lately?" 0

Liu Yuan paused for a moment. "No, why do you ask?" 0

Li Li shook her head. "I just feel like you've changed somehow." 0

"Changed?" Liu Yuan's heart skipped a beat. "In what way?" 0

Li Li stared at her for a long time before finally shaking her head again. "I can't say for sure; it just feels like you're different." 0

Feeling nervous under Li Li's gaze, Liu Yuan forced herself to remain calm. "I've always been like this." 0

Li Li nodded slowly. "Maybe I just misread things." 0

After finishing her meal, Li Li sat for a while before getting up to say goodbye. 0

Once Li Li left, Liu Yuan closed the door and leaned against it, letting out a long sigh of relief. She had been worried that Li Li might notice something unusual. 0

Beibei walked over, hugging her doll with a concerned look on her face. "Mommy, are you okay?" 0

Liu Yuan couldn't help but pinch her daughter's adorable little face. "Mommy is fine." 0

Beibei pouted unhappily at her mother’s teasing. "Mommy, please don’t keep pinching my face." 0

Seeing Beibei's cute pout made Liu Yuan laugh. "Alright, Mommy won’t pinch you anymore." 0

Hearing this, Beibei smiled and ran off with her doll. 0

Liu Yuan watched her daughter’s retreating figure, a smile creeping onto her lips. She had never thought about getting married or having children, let alone becoming a mother. But now, looking at Beibei's sweet demeanor, she suddenly felt that perhaps being a mother wasn't such a bad thing after all. 0

She walked over to the table and opened her computer to check the original owner's account balance. The savings were not much—only a few tens of thousands. 0

She sighed; it seemed she would have to be frugal from now on. 0

Next, she checked the property situation. The original owner had two houses: one in Beishi and another in South City. The house in South City had already been sold, and the six hundred thousand from the sale was deposited into the bank. 0

Looking at the balance in her bank account, Liu Yuan began to plan what to do next. The original owner had been in business before, but after failing, she hadn’t worked since. 0

Thinking back to when she had saved some money from her previous job, along with the money from selling the house, it should be enough to open a small shop. 0

Opening a store had always been Liu Yuan's dream. Ever since she was little, she had dreamed of owning a shop where she could sell things she loved and live freely. In the past, lack of funds had kept that dream out of reach. Now that she finally had some money, she wanted to give it a try. 0
