Jonas was about to sprint towards the exit, his only thought being to escape this bizarre hell. However, just a few steps in, a cold and sticky black tentacle suddenly shot out from behind him, wrapping tightly around his ankle. Jonas instantly lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground, the sharp stones scraping against his arm, sending a jolt of pain through his nerves. 0

"Damn it!" he gritted his teeth, trying to break free from the tentacle's grip, but its strength was extraordinarily powerful, as if it aimed to crush his bones. A wave of terror surged through Jonas; just as he reached for his knife to cut the tentacle, it yanked him back violently, dragging him like a rag doll. 0

"Ah!" Jonas roared, helplessly flailing his arms, struggling to grasp anything on the ground. Yet all was in vain. His fingertips grazed the surface, smeared with blood and dirt, but he could not halt the force of the black tentacle. 0

In the next moment, the tentacle lifted Jonas high into the air as if he were a toy in a claw machine. He hung suspended above the ground, surrounded by an air thick with decay and dampness. Jonas could only watch helplessly as he was hoisted several meters up, feeling an overwhelming sense of suffocation pressing down on him. 0

"No!" Jonas screamed inwardly, but the black tentacle showed no mercy, swiftly and brutally slamming him back down to the ground. 0

With a thunderous crash, Jonas's body hit the hard stone floor, pain piercing through his spine like steel needles. In that instant, he felt as if his bones were about to shatter, his organs crushed into a mass. Everything before his eyes blurred, and a buzzing sound filled his ears as everything around him shook violently. 0

Gasping for breath, Jonas felt intense pain in his back; it felt as if a hammer had struck his chest. Each breath came with sharp agony. He sensed blood slowly oozing from the corner of his mouth, completely immobilized by pain. 0

"Damn it... I can't die here..." Jonas fought against the fog clouding his mind, attempting to break free once more. But the black tentacle would not relent; it lifted him again as if to toy with a helpless prey, preparing for a final lethal strike. 0

His heart raced; he knew that if he were slammed down again, his body might not withstand such torment. He had to find a way to escape this damned tentacle. 0

Once more lifted high by Raymond, Jonas dangled in midair, his chest heaving violently as pain spread throughout his body like thousands of needles piercing him. Raymond's mutated form emitted nauseating sounds as those bony tentacles coiled around Jonas's body, holding him firmly in place. 0

"You can't escape, Jonas," Raymond taunted with a manic voice, a sickly smile creeping across his face. "Accept purification; it's your only salvation. The Black Rope Deity will grant you... a new life." 0

Breathing heavily, Jonas's eyes burned with anger and determination. He raised his head to look at Raymond—no longer his friend—and fury surged within him. Just as Raymond waited smugly for him to submit, Jonas spat out a mouthful of blood-tinged saliva directly onto Raymond's face. 0

"Fuck you, Raymond!" Jonas spat, his voice filled with anger and defiance. 0

Raymond's face twisted in an instant, black blood sliding down his features as the fury in his eyes intensified. He seemed devoid of humanity, completely enraged by the provocation, and he let out a roar, preparing to exact his final revenge on Jonas. 0

Just as Raymond was about to strike, Jonas, drawing on years of combat experience, seized the fleeting moment of vulnerability. With agility, he reached for his waist, pulling out a sharp knife and swiftly slicing at the tentacle that coiled around his ankle. 0

"Crack!" The sound was sharp and piercing, like bones breaking. Raymond's tentacle was not merely flesh; it was composed of mutated bone and twisted muscle. Yet under Jonas's lethal strike, it snapped cleanly, black liquid spraying forth. 0

"Ahhh!" Raymond screamed in a mix of rage and pain, thick blood dripping from the severed tentacle with a nauseating sound. 0

In that instant of severing the tentacle, Jonas felt a surge of liberating power. His body plummeted heavily to the ground, but his will remained unyielding. He gritted through the pain, rolling away quickly to escape Raymond's attack range and breaking free from his control. 0

"Damn it!" Raymond roared in fury, his twisted face growing more deranged as the remaining tentacles writhed in the air, seemingly ready to strike again. 0

Gasping for breath, Jonas felt the pain coursing through him but knew he had to seize this fleeting opportunity. He tightened his grip on the knife, squinting to clear his thoughts. 0

Raymond charged at Jonas like a mad beast, roaring as his tentacles flailed wildly in the air like claws of a ferocious predator, creating a low whistling sound. His figure became increasingly distorted and monstrous, exuding an aura of violence. Jonas's body was exhausted; the sharp pain in his shoulder nearly immobilized him, yet he understood that this battle was far from over. 0

Like a rampaging bull, Raymond lunged at Jonas with devastating force. His roar mingled with the whispers of the Black Rope Deity, as if seeking to devour Jonas's very soul. 0

Jonas gritted his teeth against the pain coursing through him and desperately dodged. Just as Raymond's massive arm was about to strike him down, he leaped sideways and rolled on the ground, skillfully evading the deadly blow. Raymond's attack missed entirely and crashed into the ground with a thunderous boom that cracked the floor beneath him. 0

Seizing this brief moment of respite, Jonas caught sight of a corpse not far away—a fallen mercenary with a rifle lying beside him. His heart sank; he knew this was his only chance. He quickly rolled over to grab the rifle, expertly adjusting its position and aiming at Raymond, who had just turned back around. 0

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" A series of bullets erupted from the gun, striking Raymond's mutated body. Black liquid splattered alongside the sound of flesh bursting, each bullet engaging in a desperate struggle against this transformed demon. 0

Raymond staggered backward under the force of the bullets, his body swaying as a look of pain twisted across his distorted face. Yet he did not stop; his steps continued to close in on Jonas. The bullets hit his mutated bones and muscles, causing damage but failing to effectively halt him. 0

A flicker of fear ignited within Jonas. It seemed that Raymond had completely lost his humanity; that relentless power and mutated form were pushing him toward a terrifying abyss. 0

"Damn it!" Jonas muttered under his breath, his anxiety intensifying. He continued to fire while trying to create distance, seeking enough time to think about his next move. 0

Raymond roared, the tentacles on his body thrashing wildly once more. These mutated appendages appeared impervious to pain; the more they were attacked, the angrier they became. Jonas knew he could not drag this out any longer—he had to find a more effective way or end this fight, or else his fate would likely end up like the corpses strewn across the ground. 0
