Beibei performed very well in kindergarten and was loved by both teachers and classmates.
In the afternoon, while Liu Yuan was busy at the store, someone suddenly delivered 99 roses.
"Wow, how romantic!" exclaimed the employee Li Mengmeng, filled with envy.
Liu Yuan glanced at the roses but didn’t pay them much attention.
"Jiejie Liu, who sent these flowers? Is it Manager Chen?" Li Mengmeng asked curiously.
Liu Yuan shook her head. "I don’t know."
"Don’t know?" Li Mengmeng looked at Liu Yuan in confusion. "Don’t you like roses?"
"I don’t like them," Liu Yuan replied bluntly.
"What will happen to the flowers then?" Li Mengmeng asked, looking regretfully at the large bouquet.
"Throw them away," Liu Yuan said without hesitation.
"Huh? Throw them away?" Li Mengmeng was stunned; such beautiful flowers seemed too good to waste.
"Yeah," Liu Yuan nodded and returned to her tasks.
Li Mengmeng sighed as she looked at the bouquet of roses.
Once Liu Yuan finished her work, she checked the time—it was almost six o'clock. She took out her phone to send a message to Chen Yan, asking if he was free for dinner.
At that moment, a message from Chen Yan came through first: "Are you free tonight? Want to go out for dinner?"
Liu Yuan replied, "I have dinner plans with colleagues tonight; let’s do it another day."
"Okay, let’s reschedule then," Chen Yan responded.
Liu Yuan put her phone away and continued with her work.
Later that evening, Liu Yuan gathered with her colleagues for dinner.
"Jiejie Liu, where are we going to eat tonight?" Li Mengmeng asked excitedly.
"You decide," Liu Yuan said.
"I know a new barbecue place that has great food; should we try it?" another employee suggested.
"Sounds good, I’m in," Li Mengmeng agreed enthusiastically.
"What about you, Jiejie Liu?" the employees turned to Liu Yuan.
"I’m fine with anything," Liu Yuan replied.
"Then it’s settled! We’re going for barbecue tonight!" Li Mengmeng cheered happily.
Meanwhile, Chen Yan took Beibei out for dinner, but instead of going to the big villa Beibei had been longing for, they went to eat on a cruise ship. At first, Beibei was upset that her mother wasn’t taking her along, but when she heard that her father was taking her out to play, she immediately became excited.
As she gazed at the grand cruise ship, Beibei's eyes widened in wonder.
"Dad, are we taking this to the sea?" Beibei asked in surprise.
"No, we're just going to take a look around nearby," Chen Yan replied.
"Oh," Beibei nodded and followed Chen Yan onto the cruise ship.
There were quite a few people on the cruise ship, but they were all familiar faces.
Chen Yan took Beibei to have dinner, and she enjoyed it very much.
After dinner, as Chen Yan was preparing to leave with Beibei, a voice suddenly called out from behind them. "Manager Chen."
Chen Yan stopped and turned around to see Wang Chen.
"Manager Han," Chen Yan nodded slightly.
"Manager Chen, what a coincidence to run into you here," Wang Chen said with a smile.
"Yes, it is quite a coincidence," Chen Yan replied.
"Since we have such fate, why not hang out together?" Wang Chen proposed.
"Maybe another day," Chen Yan declined.
"Oh, who is this little beauty?" Wang Chen finally noticed Beibei beside Chen Yan and asked with a smile.
"My daughter," Chen Yan answered.
"Your daughter?" Wang Chen looked at Chen Yan in surprise. "When did you have a daughter?"
"For some time now," Chen Yan replied.
"What about your wife?" Wang Chen asked.
"She's busy," Chen Yan answered.
"How about I take your daughter out for some fun tonight? You don't mind, do you?" Wang Chen looked at Beibei and asked with a smile.
"I don't mind," Chen Yan replied.
"Great, then we'll see you tonight," Wang Chen said before leaving with his friends.
Chen Yan took Beibei off the cruise ship and drove home.
...
At eight o'clock in the evening, Liu Yuan returned home from work and found the house empty. She called Chen Yan, and after a long wait, he finally answered.
"Hello?" Chen Yan's voice sounded somewhat noisy.
"Where are you?" Liu Yuan asked.
"I'm outside," Chen Yan replied.
"And Beibei?" Liu Yuan inquired.
"She's with me," Chen Yan answered.
"Where are you? I'll come pick you up," Liu Yuan said.
"No need, we'll be home soon," Chen Yan said.
"Alright then, I'll be waiting for you," Liu Yuan said before hanging up the phone.
Chen Yan took Beibei to the KTV, and it was Beibei's first time in such a place, making her very excited.
"Daddy, where is this place?" Beibei asked curiously.
"This is KTV," Chen Yan explained.
"Oh," Beibei nodded and followed Chen Yan into the private room.
A few people were already sitting inside, all familiar faces of Chen Yan and Wang Chen.
"Hey, Manager Chen is here," Jiang Ze greeted with a smile.
"Hello, Jiang," Chen Yan nodded in response.
"Who is this beautiful young lady?" Jiang Ze asked, looking at Beibei with curiosity.
"My daughter," Chen Yan replied.
"Your daughter?" Jiang Ze looked at Chen Yan in shock. "When did you have a daughter?"
"For a while now," Chen Yan answered.
"What about her mother?" Jiang Ze inquired.
"Her mother is at home," Chen Yan replied.
"I see," Jiang Ze nodded.
"Hello, Uncle Jiang," Beibei politely greeted.
"Hello there, little beauty," Jiang Ze said with a smile.
"Hahaha, Jiang Ze, you've been called 'uncle' again," someone nearby laughed.
Jiang Ze shot them a glare. "Shut up!"
Everyone laughed and began chatting. Beibei was curious about everything around her, looking around with wide eyes.
At that moment, the door to the private room was pushed open, and a uniformed waiter walked in.
"Sir, do you need any service?" the waiter asked with a smile.
"No need, thank you," Chen Yan replied.
"Alright," the waiter smiled and was about to leave when he suddenly noticed Beibei and exclaimed, "Beibei?"
Beibei's eyes widened in surprise upon seeing the waiter. "Godmother!"
"What are you doing here?" Li Li looked at Beibei in astonishment.
"I came with Daddy," Beibei answered.
"Daddy?" Li Li turned to look at Chen Yan, her eyes widening in shock.
Chen Yan nodded at Li Li. "Hello."
"Hello." Li Li nodded mechanically, feeling completely bewildered.
"Godmother, what are you doing here?" Beibei asked curiously.
"I... I'm working here," Li Li replied.
"Oh," Beibei nodded.
"You can go out first," Jiang Ze said to Li Li.
"Okay," Li Li nodded and walked out of the private room.
Once outside, Li Li immediately called Liu Yuan.
"Hey, Yuan Yuan," Li Li exclaimed excitedly.
"What’s up?" Liu Yuan asked, puzzled.
"Do you know who Beibei's dad is?" Li Li inquired.
"Yeah," Liu Yuan answered.
"You know?" Li Li's eyes widened in shock. "Then why didn't you tell me?"
"You never asked," Liu Yuan said innocently.
"You..." Li Li was momentarily speechless before saying, "Do you know who I ran into here?"
"Who?" Liu Yuan asked.
"Chen Yan!" Li Li exclaimed.
"Oh," Liu Yuan responded calmly.
"Oh? That's your reaction?" Li Li asked incredulously.
"What reaction should I have?" Liu Yuan retorted.
"You..." Li Li was once again at a loss for words.
...
Inside the private room, Chen Yan and Wang Chen were playing cards, with Beibei sitting beside Chen Yan, watching them play.
Jiang Ze played cards while observing Chen Yan. This Chen Yan was incredibly powerful, and the family business behind him was vast. If he could collaborate with him, his company would reach new heights.
With this in mind, Jiang Ze decided to find an opportunity to have a good talk with Chen Yan.
"Manager Chen, I heard you're looking for project investments recently?" Jiang Ze asked tentatively.
"Mm," Chen Yan nodded.
"I wonder which field interests you, Manager Chen?" Jiang Ze continued.
"I'm interested in any field," Chen Yan replied.
"That's perfect; I have a project in hand. I wonder if Manager Chen would be interested?" Jiang Ze asked.
"What project?" Chen Yan inquired.
"It’s a resort project," Jiang Ze replied.
"A resort?" Chen Yan raised an eyebrow.
"Yes," Jiang Ze nodded. "This is a project I have been following. If Manager Chen is interested, we can discuss it in detail."
"Sure, let's set a time to talk later," Chen Yan said.
"Alright," Jiang Ze agreed happily.
The card game came to an end with Liu Yuan's arrival.
Liu Yuan walked into the private room and, seeing Chen Yan and Beibei there, let out a sigh of relief. "You’re here."
"Mom!" Beibei exclaimed, rushing over to Liu Yuan with joy.
Liu Yuan embraced Beibei and ruffled her hair. "Did you have fun?"
"Yes!" Beibei nodded vigorously.
"Let's go home," Liu Yuan said.
"Okay," Beibei replied, nodding.
Chen Yan stood up and said to Wang Chen and the others, "We’ll head back now."
"Alright, Manager Chen. Let’s get together another day," Wang Chen nodded.
"Sounds good," Chen Yan agreed, leading Liu Yuan and Beibei out.
Jiang Ze watched the three of them leave, a smile creeping onto his face.
…
Once they got home, Beibei excitedly shared her experiences from KTV with Liu Yuan.
"Mom, I met so many uncles today, and they even gave me red envelopes!" Beibei said happily.
"Red envelopes?" Liu Yuan paused for a moment.
"Yes." Beibei nodded and took out the red envelopes that Wang Chen and the others had given her.
Liu Yuan glanced at the thickness of the envelopes and estimated that each one contained at least five thousand.
"Mom, these red envelopes are for you," Beibei said, handing them to Liu Yuan.
"You keep them; you don’t need to give them to me," Liu Yuan shook her head.
"No way! I might lose them if I hold onto them. Please keep them for me, Mom," Beibei insisted.
"Alright then," Liu Yuan relented and accepted the envelopes.
