"Are you cold?" Chen Yan asked as he took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders.
"It's fine," Liu Yuan replied, adjusting the jacket around her.
"The night view on the river is quite nice," Chen Yan remarked.
Liu Yuan nodded in agreement. "It's beautiful."
"If only we had some fine wine," Chen Yan said, glancing at her meaningfully.
Liu Yuan understood his implication and pursed her lips. "Don't start with that."
"I'm just saying we could drink," Chen Yan said with a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"You think I don't know what you're implying?" Liu Yuan shot him a playful glare.
"What about you? Are you thinking about it?" Chen Yan leaned closer, whispering in her ear.
Liu Yuan's cheeks flushed, and she avoided his gaze. "I don't know."
"Since you don't want to, shall we head back?" Chen Yan's tone carried a hint of disappointment.
Liu Yuan pondered for a moment. "Do you think Beibei will be upset if we leave her at home?"
"So what are you saying?" Chen Yan raised an eyebrow.
Liu Yuan looked at him. "It means we're not going back tonight."
Chen Yan smiled broadly. "That suits me just fine."
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?" Liu Yuan glared at him.
"I didn't say anything," Chen Yan feigned innocence.
Liu Yuan huffed and turned away from him.
Chen Yan chuckled softly and reached out to pull her into his embrace.
"What are you doing?" Liu Yuan struggled slightly.
"Don't move," Chen Yan held her tightly. "Let me hold you for a while."
Liu Yuan stopped resisting.
They stood quietly together, gazing at the distant scenery.
It wasn't until after eleven that Chen Yan finally spoke up. "Are we heading back or watching the sunrise?"
"Let's watch the sunrise," Liu Yuan answered without hesitation.
"Alright, then we'll watch the sunrise," Chen Yan agreed cheerfully.
He directed the cruise ship toward the horizon where the sea met the sky.
Liu Yuan settled onto the sofa while Chen Yan went to get some water.
When he returned, he found Liu Yuan already lying on the sofa.
Chen Yan's expression darkened slightly as he set down the cup and walked over to her.
With her eyes closed, Liu Yuan felt her heart race as she sensed his footsteps approaching.
Chen Yan crouched down and gently brushed aside the strands of hair that clung to her cheek.
Liu Yuan slowly opened her eyes, their gazes locking and sparking with electricity.
Chen Yan leaned down, kissing her softly on the lips.
Liu Yuan wrapped her arms around his neck, responding to his kiss.
They became entangled, clothes partially disheveled, skin touching skin.
Chen Yan pressed her back against the sofa while Liu Yuan gasped for breath, her cheeks flushed.
He kissed along her neck, trailing downward.
Liu Yuan closed her eyes, allowing him to do as he pleased. The room was filled with a romantic atmosphere.
After it was over, both of them were left exhausted. Chen Yan carried her into the room, and they embraced as they fell asleep. They didn’t wake until dawn.
Chen Yan looked at her charming face and couldn’t help but kiss her again. Liu Yuan let out a soft moan in response to his kiss. They tangled together for a while longer before getting out of bed.
After showering and changing clothes, Chen Yan finally let the cruise ship dock. By the time they returned to shore, it was nearly nine o'clock.
"Are you hungry?" Chen Yan asked, tilting his head.
"Mm." Liu Yuan nodded.
"I'll have someone bring breakfast over. We can eat and then head back," Chen Yan said.
Liu Yuan nodded again, remaining silent. They ate breakfast in silence, neither of them speaking. Once they finished, they set sail back home.
Upon arriving home, Liu Yuan received a message from Chen Yan: [Let’s take Beibei out for lunch and shopping this afternoon.]
[Why?] Liu Yuan replied.
Chen Yan: [We didn’t take her out last night; she must be upset, so we should make it up to her today.]
Liu Yuan thought he had a point and agreed: [Okay.]
[Then I’ll come pick you up this afternoon.]
[Mm.]
Liu Yuan put down her phone and turned to enter Beibei's room. Beibei was reading a picture book, and when she saw Liu Yuan come in, she immediately put it down. "Mommy, you're back!"
"Mm." Liu Yuan walked over and sat beside her. "Beibei, how about Mommy and Daddy take you out for lunch and shopping this afternoon?"
"Yay!" Beibei clapped her hands excitedly.
"Then you can play by yourself for now; Mommy will go change clothes," Liu Yuan said, patting her head.
"Okay." Beibei nodded.
Liu Yuan got up and returned to her room.
In the afternoon around three o'clock, Chen Yan arrived. Liu Yuan took Beibei to his car.
"Where do you want to go play?" Chen Yan asked as he turned to them.
"I want to eat hamburgers," Beibei immediately replied.
"No way, that's junk food," Liu Yuan refused.
"Mommy, I just want to eat it once," Beibei pleaded.
"No," Liu Yuan insisted firmly.
Beibei pouted in grievance.
Seeing this, Chen Yan said, "How about we let her have it just this once?"
"You've spoiled her," Liu Yuan shot him a glare.
"Occasionally having a treat isn't a big deal," Chen Yan replied with a smile.
"Daddy is the best," Beibei exclaimed happily as she jumped into his arms.
Chen Yan patted her head, saying, "Daddy has always been good."
"Mommy is great too," Beibei added, eager to flatter.
"You sure know how to sweet-talk," Liu Yuan teased her with a playful glare.
"Then let's go get hamburgers," Chen Yan decided.
Though Liu Yuan was somewhat reluctant, she didn't protest further.
At the hamburger restaurant, Chen Yan bought Beibei a kids' meal and even got her a cup of cola.
Beibei enjoyed her meal with great enthusiasm.
Liu Yuan watched her with a hint of helplessness but chose not to say anything more.
After finishing their meal, they took Beibei shopping.
"I want to play in that ball pit," Beibei pointed at the colorful inflatable pool in the mall.
"Do you want to change your shoes?" Chen Yan asked.
"Can I go in without changing?" Beibei inquired.
"Sure," Chen Yan nodded.
"Then I won't change my shoes!" Beibei exclaimed eagerly, ready to dive in and play.
Chen Yan led her inside while Liu Yuan sat nearby watching them play.
Beibei was having a blast with the other kids, her laughter ringing out joyfully.
Chen Yan stayed close by, making sure she had water and wiping the sweat from her brow with a towel.
Watching this scene, Liu Yuan felt warmth spread through her heart.
