Her words sounded as if they were spoken by someone familiar.
Jiang Xi was surprised and asked, "How does the princess know that Fong Yang won't make things difficult? Have you two met before?"
Shu Qingcheng smiled faintly and said, "Not personally; I just have some understanding of him from before."
Jiang Xi fell silent. Every word from Shu Qingcheng carried deep meaning. Although she was curious, it was inappropriate to pry further since they had just met.
Outside the Empress Dowager's chamber, Jiang Xi instructed the palace maid to announce her arrival. "This Princess Consort has come to pay respects to the Empress Dowager."
Inside Cian Palace's Inner Chamber, several concubines were flattering the Empress Dowager, greatly satisfying her vanity.
However, when the maid entered to report that the Regent Consort had come to pay her respects, the laughter and chatter abruptly ceased.

The Empress Dowager was furious, her anger visibly twisting her features.
She exclaimed, "The Regent Consort truly has some nerve. What does she think of herself?"
The Empress Dowager was seething with rage.
Meanwhile, Jiang Xi and Shu Qingcheng were leisurely strolling through the Imperial Garden. Jiang Xi asked, "Did the princess really embarrass the Crown Prince in front of so many people? Will he make things difficult for you afterward?"
Shu Qingcheng casually brushed her hair aside and replied, "Let him die."
Jiang Xi turned in surprise, clearly intrigued by the drama.
Shu Qingcheng smiled lightly and asked, "What? Are you scared by that look in your eyes?"
Jiang Xi snapped back to reality and said, "No, I just feel that your true nature seems quite different from your appearance."

Once a lofty and cold Regent, he had become more expressive thanks to Jiang Xi, who now playfully pouted and expressed jealousy over other women.

Fong Yang shook his head and replied, "I didn't know at first, but later learned some details from Yun Ting."
