Although I understood that this was a farce, I was still inexplicably startled. I couldn't help but marvel at how these two had managed to bring in such a beautiful woman. Were they trying to seduce me as a test of my loyalty to Nansanen? (After all, you threw away your domestic wife; it would be strange if they didn't test you, you lecher! Hearing this, I didn't know where my anger came from, probably due to the aftermath of the Mooncake Love Letter incident.) 0

I quickly straightened up, keeping my gaze fixed ahead, with a hint of fear in my eyes. 0

"You are very punctual," the woman said, her voice incredibly pleasant. 0

"Zi Yi?" I struggled to recall the fleeting glimpses of Zi Yi and Zi Shan when I first entered school years ago. To my surprise, this woman bore an uncanny resemblance to them, even the small red mole on her face was in exactly the same spot. 0

"Yes, it's me. I didn't expect you to remember what I looked like after all these years," she smiled lightly, her left cheek always hidden behind her hair. 0

I burst into laughter and pointed at the woman named Zi Yi. "How much did Nansanen and Shang Da pay you to go through all this trouble for this act?" 0

Zi Yi looked at me in confusion. 0

I couldn't hold back any longer. Laughing, I stood up and quickly turned over every corner of the Coffee Shop where someone could hide. I was sure that if there was anyone—let alone a person, even a fly—I would find them. 0

I shouted, "Come out already; stop messing around!" 0

Everything in the room remained unchanged. I even looked up at the ceiling; aside from a few dim hanging lights, there was nothing else. When my voice faded away, the Coffee Shop fell into an eerie silence. Suddenly, I felt that things were not as simple as they seemed because I noticed the waiter's gaze on me was that of a madman—this was definitely not an act. 0

I froze in place, cold sweat pouring out of me. 0

"Do you think this is a prank?" Zi Yi said with a half-smile. "Time is short; I hope you can sit quietly and listen to what I have to say." 0

"Isn't this just Nansanen playing a prank on me?" I grabbed the servant's hand, urgency in my voice. "Tell me quickly, stop pretending." 0

"What do you want me to tell you?" The servant pulled away from my grip, stepping back in fear. 0

"Only you can see me; they can't see me," Zi Yi said, a hint of helplessness in her tone. 0

I pointed at Zi Yi and asked, "Did you see that woman?" 0

The servant looked at me blankly, then followed my gaze. Instantly, he recoiled in terror against the liquor cabinet behind him, pressing his back tightly against it. With a look of someone who had seen a ghost, he stammered, "What... what are you talking about? It's just you and me here." 0

My hand flailed in the air aimlessly; I must have looked quite bizarre at that moment. The servant shrank into the corner of the counter. I took deep breaths, trying to calm myself. "It's nothing. I was just thinking of a scene from a horror script. Just doing a little live simulation to scare you." 0

The servant looked at me skeptically. "That could really give someone a heart attack." 0

I smiled apologetically and slumped back into my seat. 0

Zi Yi gazed at me sadly. "Father, do you believe me this time?" 0

I felt an inexplicable surge of anger and snapped, "Don't call me Father! I don't believe any of this." 0

The servant asked cautiously, "Do you want to see a doctor?" 0

Zi Yi raised her index finger to her lips in a shushing gesture. "Speak quietly or don't speak at all. He can't see me or hear my voice. If you keep talking loudly to yourself like this, they might really think you're insane and send you to the hospital." 0

I stared wide-eyed, my mind had already accepted the fact that I had encountered a ghost, yet I couldn't help but resist. Especially since it was a female ghost who called me father! 0

Zi Yi gently shook her head and extended her hand towards me. "Try to see if you can touch me." 0

Ghosts have a visible form but lack substance; those who encounter them can only see their shape but cannot touch them. Trembling, I reached out my hand toward her jade-like soft wrist. My hand passed through hers without any resistance, the two hands merging together in a grotesque manner, as if another half-hand had sprouted from my palm. I continued to reach forward, my hand completely passing through her face and extending out from the back of her head. There was an indescribable sensation on my hand, a chilling feeling, as if a faint electric current was coursing through it. 0

I had truly encountered a ghost! 0
