Target Eye, the number one assassin under Jin Bing, also known as the nemesis of Daredevil.
With impressive combat skills and extraordinary throwing abilities, he has demonstrated his prowess in several ways: using playing cards to slice open a person's throat, spitting out his own teeth to penetrate an enemy's skull, throwing a paper airplane onto a distant rooftop, and launching a toothpick into a window a hundred yards away, killing someone in the process.
Such an assassin is not someone that Shasha can handle at this moment.
As for Shasha, he was unaware that Jin Bing would place such 'importance' on him. After receiving news that Erika had already taken Chris out of the city, he decided to abandon the continued hostage situation with Fino, realizing that staying any longer would put him in danger.
Upon leaving the police station, Shasha naturally became a target for the furious Fino. However, it wasn't long before a strange yet familiar figure appeared in his office. The moment Fino laid eyes on this person, he knew he was in grave danger.
“Bss sends his regards,” the newcomer sneered, and a playing card flew out, instantly slicing through Fino's throat.
As blood splattered, the assailant vanished. By the time Fino was discovered dead in his office, it was already some time later, and the wanted Shasha naturally became the perfect scapegoat for this incident.
He chose not to reunite with Erika and the others because he felt it wasn't the right time yet. It wasn't until dawn approached that he finally found Erika and Chris in southeastern Orange County.
When Erika saw that Shasha was unharmed, her expression was somewhat strange. “I never expected you to succeed.”
Shasha shrugged noncommittally, feeling a bit proud of himself; after all, accomplishing this task was no small feat. “Although we are safe for now, we can't be sure that Jin Bing's pursuers won't come after us.”
At this point, he turned to the ever-silent Chris. “Our only chance to turn things around lies within that data. If it gets released, then Jin Bing will have no time to deal with us. Surely Mr. Edmund won't let us down?”
Surprised by Shasha's sudden question, Chris hesitated before forcing a laugh. “Of course.”
Seeing this reaction from Chris, Shasha couldn't shake off an uneasy feeling. Just as he was about to probe further, a sudden rush of wind caught his attention. Instinctively dodging, he then heard a scream.
A playing card was embedded deep in the driver's forehead. Realizing what had happened, both Shasha and Erika quickly pulled Chris behind the car for cover. Their expressions were grave, especially Shasha, who recognized such tactics all too well.
"The assassin from Jin Bing has arrived, and it seems they are no amateur," Shasha exhaled heavily, contemplating for a moment before saying, "As usual, you take him away while I hold off that guy."
This time, Erika did not heed Shasha's advice. Seeing her shake her head, she smiled faintly. "You've already shown your sincerity; now it's my turn to demonstrate mine."
Without waiting for Shasha to stop her, she drew out the Mitsubishi Steel Spike and dashed out from behind the car for cover.
There was no time to prevent what was happening. He knew that Erika alone might not be enough to handle that person if it was indeed who he suspected.
Shasha gritted her teeth and coldly addressed Chris, "You stay put. If I find out you've run away, I'd rather give up those documents than let you off the hook!"
Chris wiped the cold sweat from his brow, fully aware of what would happen to him without Shasha's protection.
At that moment, Erika was already engaged with the assassin. It was worth noting that the opponent moved quickly, so fast that she barely caught a glimpse of their appearance before she began to fall behind.
No one had ever been able to confront her unarmed. From initial confidence to sudden surprise, an unexpected attack forced her back several steps. Just as she prepared to strike again, a thin playing card sliced across her striking face.
A line of blood appeared as it dripped down. Erika looked grimly at the assassin in the blue tight-fitting suit, whose face was twisted into a malicious grin. This was the first time she had experienced such pain.
"Good reaction; you're worth killing," the assassin smirked darkly and flicked another card at her.
Erika dodged the card, but at that moment, the assassin closed in and seized her wrist with one hand, forcefully driving it toward their knee. The Mitsubishi Steel Spike fell with a thud.
Just as the steel spike was about to hit the ground, the assassin kicked it up and caught it with their left hand, blocking one of Erika's attacks. The two steel spikes clashed against each other as he mockingly stared at her furious face and whistled. "You're quite impressive. If you weren't my target, I'd actually want to get to know you better. But alas..."
Faced with the regretful expression of the assassin, Erika's anger intensified. When had she ever been toyed with like this? She lifted her leg and delivered a fierce kick, channeling all her pent-up fury into it.
However, the attack was easily blocked. With a slight force, he pushed Erika away, and with his left hand, he reversed the steel spike, looking utterly bored as he said, "You really are a woman who doesn't understand romance."
With that, his figure suddenly vanished, moving faster than the eye could follow.
Erika's pupils constricted, instinctively sensing danger, but it was too late; she felt the impending sting of injury as something was about to pierce her skin.
But at that moment, a sudden gunshot startled Erika, who had thought she was about to be hurt. She saw the assassin retreating five meters away, looking grimly at something behind her.
Turning around, Erika saw Shasha holding a handgun, watching the assassin with a wary expression. She couldn't help but frown. "Didn't I tell you to leave?"
"I never abandon my companions," Shasha said firmly as she walked up to Erika.
Hearing this, Erika was taken aback. In that moment, Shasha seemed to embody someone entirely different to her, yet distinctly the same.
