Li Lin's heart raced as he struggled to believe what he was seeing. "Lao Zhang, what did you say? Raiders Group?"
Lao Zhang's face was pale, cold sweat beading on his forehead. "I was forced to monitor this place. They believe there are secrets of ancient weapons hidden in the ruins."
Liya watched Lao Zhang warily. "So Xiao Xing really has a connection to these ruins?"
Lao Zhang nodded, a flicker of fear in his eyes. "That creature might be the key, but I don't know the specifics."
Li Lin's mind raced as he needed to make a decision quickly. Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed from the passageway.
"Damn it, it's the raiders!" Lao Zhang hissed in panic.
Li Lin quickly scanned the surroundings, his gaze landing on Liya and Lao Yang. "You two take Xiao Xing and go ahead. I'll hold them off."
"No way!" Liya insisted firmly. "We're leaving together."
At that moment, Xiao Xing let out a sharp cry, its body radiating a brilliant light that caused the entire ruins to tremble violently.
"It's protecting us," an unusual feeling surged within Li Lin.
The light enveloped the entire team as the ground began to collapse. Li Lin felt darkness engulf him, and he lost consciousness.
After an unknown amount of time, Li Lin slowly opened his eyes to find himself in a desolate wasteland. Xiao Xing curled up against his chest, breathing weakly.
Li Lin gently stroked Xiao Xing's feathers, filled with questions and worries. "Wake up, guys! We need to get out of here fast."
Liya and Lao Yang gradually regained consciousness, but Lao Zhang was nowhere to be seen. Li Lin frowned. "Damn it, where did Lao Zhang go?"
"He might have been captured by the raiders," Liya said, scanning their surroundings cautiously. "We need to find a way to rescue him."
Li Lin took a deep breath as his thoughts raced. "No, we need to find a safe place first."
At that moment, a strange voice suddenly rang out, "Need help?"
Li Lin turned sharply, seeing a tall man standing not far away. His gaze was sharp, and he exuded an air of danger.
"Who are you?" Li Lin asked warily.
"My name is Kane," the man smiled. "I have a proposal that might help you deal with the Raiders Group."
Li Lin narrowed his eyes. "How do you know about the Raiders Group?"
Kane chuckled lightly. "In this wasteland, nothing escapes my notice. I know you have a history with the raiders."
Liya interjected, "What makes you think we would trust you?"
"Because we have a common enemy," Kane's eyes flashed with coldness. "The Raiders Group took everything from me."
Li Lin fell silent for a moment, his instincts telling him he could trust this stranger. "Tell me your plan."
Kane revealed a mysterious smile. "The Raiders Group isn't as united as they seem. Iron Fist has always been dissatisfied with Black Blade's leadership."
"Iron Fist?" Lao Yang asked in confusion.
"The second-in-command of the Raiders Group," Kane explained. "We can exploit this conflict to sow discord."
Li Lin pondered for a moment. "What specific plan do you have?"
Kane slowly laid out his strategy. The more Li Lin listened, the more feasible it seemed, but doubts still lingered in his mind. "Why should we trust you?"
Kane looked directly into Li Lin's eyes. "Because we all have our reasons for revenge."
After a moment of silence, Li Lin finally nodded. "Alright, we'll cooperate."
A few days later, Li Lin and Kane devised a detailed action plan. Utilizing Kane's intelligence network, they successfully obtained information about the Raiders Group's supply routes.
"Are you ready?" Li Lin asked, looking at Xiao Xing, who nodded gently.
The operation commenced. Li Lin and Xiao Xing were responsible for reconnaissance, while Kane led a squad to carry out the assault. Liya and Lao Yang provided support from the rear.
At a critical moment, Iron Fist suddenly appeared. He hesitated for a moment but ultimately chose to stand with Li Lin. "Black Blade must be brought down."
The battle was exceptionally fierce, but with Iron Fist's assistance, Li Lin and his team successfully dealt a heavy blow to the Raiders Group's supply line. Everything seemed to be going according to plan.
However, just as they prepared to retreat, a cold laugh echoed through the air. "Did you really think you could defeat us so easily?"
Li Lin spun around sharply and saw Black Blade standing not far away, with the captured Lao Zhang beside him.
"Let him go!" Li Lin shouted angrily.
Black Blade sneered. "Want to save him? Then trade your secrets for his freedom."
Li Lin's heart sank as he realized that things were far more complicated than he had imagined. Suddenly, Xiao Xing let out a sharp cry, sensing an immense danger.
"This is just the beginning," Black Blade said, a glint of madness in his eyes. "Did you think you won? The real game is only just starting!"
