"Ah, I'm so sorry! I blocked your car, didn't I? I hope I didn't delay you," Min Yueyue said sweetly, her voice almost like a playful pout. 0

She was a girl from Su Nan, speaking in a way that felt almost flirtatious. Jiang Wen loosened his grip, replying, "It's fine." 0

"Just wait a moment, I'll move it right away," she said. 0

With two beeps, Little Pink flashed and unlocked. Min Yueyue opened the car door and called out to Feng Ning, "Ning Ning, step aside; I'm going to reverse." 0

After getting in and starting the engine, Min Yueyue honked twice to hurry things along. Feng Ning shifted her feet and walked toward Jiang Wen. 0

Standing about a meter away, she glanced around and asked, "Where's your friend?" 0

"He went back," he replied. 0

Feng Ning responded with an "Oh," trying her best to act like they were old friends catching up after a long time. "Are you getting used to being back home?" 0

She didn't even look at Jiang Wen's face while speaking. 0

"It's okay; nothing feels out of place," Jiang Wen said nonchalantly. 0

Feng Ning stared at the ash by her feet, wanting to ask when he had started smoking, but the words stuck in her throat. 0

Their conversation was as flat as water, seemingly unable to stir any waves. 0

Just when Feng Ning thought it was about to end, Jiang Wen suddenly pulled her close. "Watch out." 0

A deafening crash echoed from the parking lot as the rear of a Maserati slammed into the front of a Bentley. 0

Feng Ning's chin collided with Jiang Wen's shoulder, causing a bit of pain. Both stumbled slightly. 0

Perhaps fearing she would hit the wall, Jiang Wen instinctively wrapped his arm around her waist while his other hand pressed against the wall beside her ear to steady them. 0

They were pressed closely together; through their clothes, she could feel the warmth of his skin. 0

Feng Ning let him hold her. 0

The distance was too close; her vision blurred before refocusing. 0

Jiang Wen's face was mere inches away, his brows furrowed. She could even see the mole beside his brow. 0

—Once, it had been her favorite mole. 0

He lowered his gaze and asked softly, "Are you okay?" 0

"I'm fine." After a brief moment of distraction, Feng Ning pushed Jiang Wen away slightly, though not enough to really move him. Worrying about Min Yueyue, she said anxiously, "Let go of your hand!" 0

Jiang Wen complied and released her. 0

Min Yueyue hurriedly got out of the car and ran to the back, staring at the wreckage with a scream of despair. 0

Feng Ning rushed over and grabbed her to check, "Are you hurt?" 0

"Woo woo woo, I'm not hurt, but my Little Pink is damaged. My heart hurts so much." 0

"How could you drive like that and still crash?" 0

Min Yueyue pouted and stomped her foot. "It's all your fault for making me drink and drive!" 0

"..." 0

Feng Ning's temple twitched. "Miss, you only had two sips of beer." 0

"That just means I have a low tolerance!" 0

Min Yueyue felt a bit embarrassed, her face long as she turned toward Jiang Wen. "Sorry, handsome. Did you have insurance on this car?" 0

"I'm not sure. I just returned to the country; this is my friend's car." 0

Jiang Wen picked up his phone and called Bai Hongyi. 0

Min Yueyue leaned closer to Feng Ning and whispered, "I can tell your ex-boyfriend comes from a wealthy family." 0

"What?" 0

Min Yueyue continued, "He remained so calm during that car crash, not even blinking an eye." 0

Feng Ning thought for a moment. "His family is quite rich, I suppose." 0

"Why didn't you hold onto him more tightly back then? I'm worried for you!" 0

"There wasn't much of a connection." 0

Min Yueyue lowered her voice. "A man like that is too good to miss! The heavens brought you two back together; isn’t that fate?" 0

After finishing the call, Jiang Wen walked over. He bent down to pick up the keys that had fallen to the ground. 0

Feng Ning took them from him and sincerely said, "Thank you." 0

After a brief silence, he replied with three words: "No need to thank." 0

Perhaps it was the pride he had shown in high school that left a deep impression on her; Feng Ning still found it a bit strange to see him so... gentle now. "You've changed quite a bit." 0

Jiang Wen casually remarked, "You haven't changed much." 0

"Huh?" 0

"You’re still the same towards me." Jiang Wen paused for a moment before flatly stating one word: "Indifferent." 0

Feng Ning fell silent, saying nothing. She smiled lightly, as if to brush it off. 0

Min Yueyue noticed the underlying tension in their exchange and glanced around, taking in the scene between the two of them. 0

She suddenly became a bit curious. "Jiang Handsome." 0

"Just call me Jiang Wen," he replied. 0

Min Yueyue responded with an "oh," "I heard Ning Ning say you two were high school classmates. Did you go abroad right after graduating?" 0

Jiang Wen didn't answer immediately. After a moment, he said, "No." 0

Min Yueyue hesitated slightly. "So you went to university in China?" 0

"I studied my undergraduate degree in the United States," Jiang Wen answered. 0

Min Yueyue was momentarily at a loss and voiced her lingering question, "So you studied halfway in China before going abroad?" 0

"Yeah." 0

Just as she was about to ask more, Feng Ning interrupted, "Alright, are you conducting a census here?" 0

"I'm just being concerned," she replied. 0

Jiang Wen's phone rang, and he answered it. 0

"Bai Hongyi: I'm here." 0

"Where are you?" 0

"At the entrance. Where are you guys?" 0

"In Area C, 47." 0

A few minutes later, Bai Hongyi arrived at the scene. Min Yueyue went over to talk to him, leaving Feng Ning and Jiang Wen alone. 0

Perhaps it was psychological, but once Min Yueyue left, the atmosphere between the two became a bit strange. Feng Ning felt somewhat uneasy. She took out her phone and began looking at some information. After a while, she sent a voice message to Xiao Zhu, "Please send me the translation from the previous business visit with Tina to my email." 0

"Feng Ning, could you check on Guan Tongfu's progress first? I just want to enjoy a nice weekend, please!" 0

With that, Feng Ning sent a message to Guan Tongfu: 0

"Have you finished the PPT for that hotel project you mentioned before? I need to see the final product when we get back to work on Monday." 0

After a moment of thought, she decided to call him. 0

As soon as he picked up, he shouted, "Sister, are you a devil? Why are you pushing me for work at this hour?" 0

Feng Ning replied, "I’m worried you might slack off." 0

"Just half an hour ago, the boss asked me about it too. You should go talk to the boss about life; you two workaholics are a perfect match!" 0

"Has Shixiong returned?" 0

"He landed at noon." 0

Feng Ning responded with an "Oh." 0

Suddenly, Guan Tongfu sensed something was off. "Sister Ning, why do I feel like something's strange with you?" 0

"What do you mean?" 0

"Are you on a blind date?" 0

Guan Tongfu's unexpected remark left her speechless. "It's ten o'clock; who goes on a blind date at this hour?" 0

"Then how come you have the time to call me and chat aimlessly?" Guan Tongfu analyzed. "It’s like you're looking for trouble, just like I was when I went on a blind date a few days ago." 0

Without saying another word, Feng Ning hung up the phone. 0

Jiang Wen glanced over and asked, "Are you busy with work?" 0

Feng Ning was much shorter than Jiang Wen and wore a baseball cap, so she didn't have to worry about making eye contact with him. She politely replied, "I'm doing okay. How about you? You must be busy after just returning to the country." 0

"Not as busy as you." 0

Feng Ning fell silent, her expression betraying her thoughts. In the dim light, illuminated only by her phone's faint glow on her face, she remarked, "After years in America, you've certainly become more articulate than before." 0

"Really?" 0

Feng Ning's calm demeanor was merely a facade. Her tone carried a hint of sarcasm as she added, "Of course! I say one thing, and you can retort with ten." 0

Noticing her slight irritation, Jiang Wen smiled faintly and said softly, "I just want to see how long you can keep up this act of being old classmates getting along." 0

Feng Ning turned her gaze away to look at Min Yueyue and the others. "I just don't want either of us to feel awkward." 0

"Awkward?" 0

At that moment, Bai Hongyi turned around and called out, "Ryan, come here for a second!" 0
