In the depths of the ancient church, Arya and her teammates discovered a gloomy hall, in the center of which stood a stone altar.
The air was filled with an uneasy silence, and pale, translucent shadows floated around, as if silently screaming, sometimes approaching and sometimes receding, each soul's face contorted with despair.
"These are trapped souls," Selena said softly, her eyes filled with compassion and determination, "they cannot find peace, bound by eternal suffering. We must help them so they can find the path to the next level."
Garys and Logan exchanged a solemn glance, then nodded in support. Arya approached Selena and asked in a low voice, "Do you have a plan?"
Selena took a deep breath and began reciting the ancient Light Magic incantation, gradually forming a dazzling light in the palm of her hand. "I will use my healing magic to purify these souls and offer them solace. But it will take time and I will need your protection to prevent these lost souls from attacking me."
As Selena began casting her spell, the souls seemed to sense the power of light and started to gather and resist. Arya swiftly drew her twin swords and stood in front of Selena, while Garys and Logan also prepared for battle.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here to protect you," Gary said calmly, releasing an illusion that blurred the surroundings, making it difficult for the souls to locate precisely.
Meanwhile, Logan used his Elemental Magic to create a series of small explosions, dispersing some of the more aggressive souls. Whenever a soul tried to approach Selena, he immediately attacked with lightning bolts, aiming to keep them at bay.
As Selena's spell progressed, the light gradually spread throughout the entire hall, filling it with a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The souls began to undergo a transformation, their expressions changing from anguish to serenity, ascending and dissolving into the glowing light in the air.
"Look, they have been released!" Selena's face revealed a tired but contented smile. As the last soul disappeared, a beam of light suddenly illuminated the center of the altar, revealing a new pathway.
"We did it," Arya said as she put down her weapon and gently patted Selena's shoulder, looking at her gratefully.
After a brief rest, the team decided to continue forward, entering a new passage. Each person's face carried an anticipation of the unknown and hope for the future, and in Arya's heart, her trust and reliance on Garys deepened even further.
After crossing the previous level, Arya and her companions entered a seemingly endless desert. Unlike a typical desert, the sand here exhibits a colorful illusion, flowing endlessly as if it possesses its own consciousness and life.
The moment she entered this space, the passage of time became chaotic. The grains of sand seemed to stretch like the flow of time itself, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, constantly altering the structure of the space. Every step she took felt like crossing countless ages, with the figures of people becoming blurry and then clear again.
Arya felt an unprecedented pressure, knowing that this distorted space-time room was one of the biggest challenges of this expedition. However, by her side, her mysterious and powerful companion "Little Asia," the offspring of the "Giant Wing of Time," seemed to be at ease in such an environment.
"Little Asia, can you help us stabilize the flow of this quicksand?" Arya softly spoke to her contracted magical beast.
Little Asia let out a gentle neigh, its wings fluttering lightly, emitting subtle magical waves. With its movements, the quicksand began to slow down, even forming stable platforms in certain areas, allowing everyone to walk safely.
Garys observed the changes around him, and his brow relaxed slightly. "It's truly amazing, the power of this monster is beyond imagination," he said to Arya and the others, with a look of wonder in his eyes.
Logan and Selena also showed visible relief. Logan said, "If it weren't for Little Asia, we might have been lost in this eternal, shifting desert sea by now."
"We should take the opportunity to cross this area now," Selena suggested, her gaze scanning the path ahead, trying to find the safest route.
Under the protection of Little Asia, the group steadily moved forward, but the apparent calm of the scene was only temporary. Suddenly, something seemed to be triggered beneath the sandy ground, and a series of sandstorms formed, with powerful suction trying to pull them into the sand.
Garys immediately reacted and cast a powerful illusionism to temporarily conceal their location. "Quick! This will buy us some time, but we need to find a permanent solution," Garys said urgently, a hint of cunning flashing in his dark eyes.
Selena quickly chanted an ancient healing spell, and a gentle light rose from her palms, forming a protective shield that enveloped her and her companions. This radiant shield not only repelled the onslaught of the sandstorm but also gradually purified the distorted temporal forces around them.
Logan used his Elemental Magic to create a water elemental barrier, attempting to suppress the flow and rampage of the sand. The Water flow collided with the sand grains in the desert, emitting a rustling sound, as if time and space were entangled at this moment.
"It seems that the magical power here is stronger than I imagined." Logan gritted his teeth, a hint of sweat appearing on his face, as his power was pushed to the limit at this moment.
At that moment, Little Asia emitted a clear neigh once again, and a vortex of time and space formed around its body, demonstrating its powerful time control ability. The vortex gradually slowed down the flow of the sand and began to rearrange the spatial structure of the desert.
Garys seized the opportunity and commanded, "Now, move in that direction! The stable area created by Little Asia won't last long, we must pass through this area as soon as possible!"
A group of people, guided by Little Asia, passed through the area of shifting sands and distorted time, being extra cautious with every step. Arya, as they moved forward, constantly looked back to ensure that no one was left behind, her eyes filled with determination and care.
Finally, after a hard struggle, they reached the other end of the sand room and discovered an ancient stone door, carved with strange symbols and patterns. Garys approached the stone door, carefully studying the patterns, trying to find the way to open it.
Arya turned to look at her companions and said softly, "We did it. Thank you for everyone's efforts. Whatever lies beyond this door, today will become an indelible memory between us."
They looked at each other and smiled, their eyes filled with mutual support despite their exhaustion. At this moment, they were not just classmates at the magic academy, but also comrades who had journeyed together.
