The next day, I made an excuse that my mom was coming to the apartment and sent him and his group of dog friends back to school.

Seeing the shock on my parents' faces, I knew they were struggling to accept what I was saying. I detailed everything in painstaking detail.
As I spoke through my sobs, my father's expression grew darker, his fists clenched tightly. My mother turned pale, her lips quivering as silent tears streamed down her face; she covered her mouth in disbelief as she looked at me.
