In Tuan City, a guard dressed in a Flying Fish Robe was interrogating the owner of a clothing store where he had previously purchased clothes. The owner, a woman who had seen her fair share of the world, was not intimidated by the guard. Standing behind the counter, she joked, "Sir, what brings you to Tuan City tomorrow? It’s quite rare to see someone like you here. If you’re looking for a discount, I might be able to help." 0

The owner leaned against the counter, revealing a glimpse of her alluring figure, which would have captivated anyone. However, the guard remained expressionless, his gaze fixed intently on her eyes. 0

Suddenly, the owner’s head snapped back as she noticed the guard's Willow Leaf Sabre at his waist. 0

"I ask, you answer," the guard stated. 0

The owner nodded, refraining from any unnecessary movements. The other customers had long since vanished; no one dared linger near a man with a blade. Fearful of a swift demise, they fled as quickly as they could. 0

"A few days ago, did a beggar come into my shop to buy clothes?" the guard pressed. 0

With so many people coming and going, how could she possibly remember? "I don’t recall," she replied. 0

With a swift motion, the counter was split in two with a single strike. The owner either nodded or shook her head in response. 0

Seeing this, she nodded again and tightened her clothing. In the sweltering summer heat, she felt a chill seep into her body that was more biting than winter itself. 0

"Did he buy those few pieces of clothing?" the guard continued. 0

"That one... yes, that one," she said, pointing to a pile of garments. 0

"Two pieces?" 0

The boss lady nodded, keeping her mouth shut. She wondered if the guard in front of her truly didn’t care about her life. All she could do now was to satisfy him; perhaps that would spare her life. 0

How many? 0

Two, just two. The boss lady held up two fingers. 0

Do you know which direction they went? 0

She shook her head vigorously, indicating that she didn’t know. 0

The guard didn’t ask anything further. Just as he was about to request the knife be put away, an arrow suddenly flew out from somewhere, forcing him to dodge hastily. The arrow struck his shoulder. 0

On the rooftops across the street, a few figures were crouched down. One of them, a woman in a floral long dress with grass in her mouth, spoke up: "Hey, there are two Dongzi who actually dodged Third's arrow. Bu Luo, I’ll die tomorrow; thanks to me, they found that person’s whereabouts. Now I can go die." 0

As soon as she finished speaking, the archer on the rooftop drew back his bow again, while another person beside the woman, armed with a precious sword, leaped towards the guard. 0

The remaining people stood aside and watched. For a guard, those few individuals were certainly a death sentence. The guard recognized them at a glance; at least in the martial world, those six had made quite a name for themselves. The court had even given them an elegant title: Six Little Mice, describing them as little mice scurrying around. The court had never been able to catch them, and now they were stirring up trouble again. 0

Chen Liu, an Imperial Guard of Emperor Liu Qi and not affiliated with Skytrust Guards or the Prince's Mansion, never imagined he would one day encounter the Six Little Mice. Standing opposite them felt like a death sentence. 0

What should I do? Chen Liu thought to himself. He had already been hit by an arrow; he couldn’t possibly take on those six alone. Even without that arrow, he wouldn’t stand a chance against them. Running away would likely not give him any opportunity either. 0

Suddenly, Chen Liu heard the boss lady’s voice and saw his Flying Fish Robe. 0

The Six Little Mice gave Chen Liu no chance at all—not even an opportunity to speak. The boss lady curled up in the corner, burying her head between her legs. Initially, she had seen Chen Liu’s head and body fall; blood was everywhere. Now it seemed he was beyond saving. She curled up tightly, seeking warmth as she gasped; the floor was icy cold, and cold sweat soaked through her clothes and drenched the ground beneath her. 0

Time passed, and only when the boss lady felt it was safe did she dare to lift her head, confirming that everyone had left. She quickly gathered her belongings and hurriedly left Tuan City. All she wanted now was to escape that cursed place and find a secluded spot where she could hide away. 0

At this moment, Liu Lao Jiu and Gu had stopped in their tracks. The same willow tree appeared before them once again. Gu did not continue eastward, as both of them had reached their limits. If they went any further, they might truly faint in that endless world. 0

"I'm not going any further, not even if you kill me!" Liu Lao Jiu shouted. 0

"I won't go, but you can," Gu said as he walked toward the large tree. Liu Lao Jiu watched as Gu's legs trembled behind him. Slowly, Liu Lao Jiu crouched down, as if trying to hide from the ground, gradually moving his hand toward the hilt of the knife at his waist. 0

Just moments ago, Gu Cuo had told Liu Lao Jiu: "Let's take a break before we move on." 0

Liu Lao Jiu glanced over; Gu was staring intently into his eyes. Liu Lao Jiu noticed the bright spark in Gu Na's eyes. Perhaps he had discovered something, or maybe he was about to face a deadly trial. 0

Liu Lao Jiu approached Gu, who was bent over drawing something in the dirt. "My drawing is really terrible," Gu muttered. 0

Gu did not respond but continued to sketch with his head down. Liu Lao Jiu took a closer look; it was a tree that somehow had a nose, eyes, and a mouth, with legs too. It looked truly awful. Liu Lao Jiu thought it was not as good as his own drawings. What had he drawn back then? It was ridiculous. 0

But Gu ignored him and kept drawing—the willow tree that kept appearing, its leaves looking strangely similar each time. Liu Lao Jiu seemed to ponder something for a moment. Why did it have a nose, eyes, and a mouth? 0

Now the two of them encountered the willow tree once more. Liu Lao Jiu wanted to say something to Minghong, but all he could express were two words: Tree Demon. 0
