Suddenly, Rao Jie let out a sigh of relief. She hurried to tidy up and take a shower, but when she came out, she found Wu Rong already lying on the only bed in the room, dressed in a bathrobe.
“How did you end up here…” Rao Jie stared at the drowsy Wu Rong on the bed, speechless.
Perhaps the hot water had made Wu Rong feel soft all over; he looked a bit lazy. “This suite has two bathrooms. I finished washing in the one outside, so naturally, I came back to rest. There’s food on the cart; if you’re hungry, just make do with it. But I guess you can’t eat right now. Later… I’ll take you out for a feast. For now… I’m going to sleep.”
After saying that, Wu Rong pulled up the covers and comfortably turned over, just like that… he fell asleep?
Rao Jie couldn’t allow him to brush her off like that and rushed over to pull him back, not letting him sleep.
“Wu Rong, what are you talking about? Do you want to share a room and a bed with me? You…”
Before Rao Jie could finish her sentence, Wu Rong grabbed her and rolled them both into the blanket.
“Be good, don’t fuss. I’m really tired,” Wu Rong said with a hint of fatigue in his voice.
Unlike Rao Jie, who could adapt to her surroundings, Wu Rong had high standards for where he slept and couldn’t fall asleep on the plane. Now he was utterly exhausted.
Seeing him so worn out made Rao Jie’s heart soften; she decided to wait until he woke up to discuss things.
Thinking this, she tried to get out of bed—there was a sofa chair outside that she could manage with.
But she couldn’t move at all.
Wu Rong had wrapped his arms around her from behind as if she were a pillow.
Rao Jie’s breath caught in her throat; she wanted to break free, but the person behind her wouldn’t let go and complained playfully, “Don’t move; I’m really tired. We can talk about everything when we wake up.”
Rao Jie felt helpless; it was as if she had been brainwashed, and she didn’t even think there was anything wrong with their current situation.
The soft bed and warm embrace gradually magnified her fatigue. Not being able to adjust to the time difference was unavoidable, so Rao Jie unknowingly drifted into a deep sleep, sharing the bed with Wu Rong in a muddled state.
When Wu Rong woke up from his slumber, he found Rao Jie nestled in his arms and felt momentarily bewildered. How did they end up sleeping together?
Once he realized what had happened, he regretted how easily he had fallen asleep like that.
Rao Jie also woke up due to Wu Rong’s movements. As she opened her eyes and gradually regained clarity, she felt embarrassed about their situation and quickly got up to hide in the bathroom.
Wu Rong didn’t press the matter; he simply lingered on in bed for a moment longer.
It turned out that only when Rao Jie was by his side could he sleep so comfortably.
By the time they both woke up, it was already close to evening.
Wu Rong got up and pulled back the heavy curtains. Outside the large floor-to-ceiling window was the beautiful Iron Tower of Flower City. He had chosen a great spot, a romantic room where the night view could be seen.
At that moment, Rao Jie emerged from the bathroom and saw Wu Rong standing in front of the window. The glow of the setting sun illuminated him just as he turned to look at her. With a joyful smile on his face, he asked, "Do you like it?"
Rao Jie’s heart skipped a beat. She knew Wu Rong was asking if she liked the view outside. But in that instant, she wanted to answer a different question.
In this foreign land, in a beautiful room, with young and flirtatious individuals, everything seemed to fall into place effortlessly. A sense of anticipation began to grow within her. She slowly walked over to Wu Rong and stood beside him, gazing out at the stunning scenery together. They didn’t mention anything about the room; they simply admired Flower City under the sunset.
The beautiful view was right before her eyes, and the man who made her heart race was standing beside her. In that moment, Rao Jie felt a profound sense of happiness.
