Lu Xiaoran was secretly calculating that there were still about three weeks left until the end arrived. He had to complete the preparations needed to face the end in such a short time.
The first issue to resolve was definitely the supply problem. If only his ability were still intact, he wouldn't have to worry about supplies at all, Lu Xiaoran thought to himself. If rebirth could achieve such a thing, perhaps the ability could really be retained.
With this in mind, Lu Xiaoran decided to test whether he could still use his ability. He raised his head and looked toward the front of the vehicle, where there was a surveillance camera. If he used his ability right now, it might be captured by the camera, and Lu Xiaoran didn't want to attract unnecessary trouble.
So, he slipped his right hand into his pocket, pretending to take something out. Then he followed the method of using his ability from End Time, picturing in his mind what he wanted to materialize.
Moments later, Lu Xiaoran pulled his hand out of his pocket, revealing an empty palm that suddenly held a piece of bread wrapped in paper. Lu Xiaoran was overjoyed; it was fantastic—his ability was indeed still there.
Confirming that his ability could be used normally, Lu Xiaoran felt completely relieved. He tore off the wrapping paper from the bread and stuffed it into his mouth. Now he didn't have to worry about food and water; next, he should address the issue of safety.
Although Lu Xiaoran's ability was incredibly powerful, it did have certain limitations. The things he conjured could only be items he had previously encountered. So, to be precise, his ability was more akin to replication. Encountering an item was equivalent to adding it to his repertoire; when he needed to manifest that item later, it was like pulling it from storage.
Because of this limitation, Lu Xiaoran couldn't create something he had never come across before. For example, in his previous life, if Lu Xiaoran wanted to use his ability to conjure a firearm for self-defense but had never encountered a real gun, he would have no way of replicating one. The only thing he could manifest were ordinary kitchen knives used for cutting vegetables.
However, this level of Wu Jian could be easily accessed by anyone else.
That said, Lu Xiaoran had not been able to use his Ability to enhance his combat power.
If he wanted to get acquainted with firearms, the Military Museum might be a good place to visit.
As Lu Xiaoran pondered this, the bus he was on came to a stop.
"Passengers getting off, please exit from the rear door," announced the automated voice.
With that, Lu Xiaoran stood up from his seat and stepped off the bus. He didn't care which stop it was; he already had his destination in mind.
After waiting by the roadside for a moment, Lu Xiaoran waved down a taxi.
Once he got in, the driver turned around with a broad smile and asked, "Hey there, where are you headed?"
"The Haitong Military Museum," Lu Xiaoran replied coldly.
"Got it, I'll start the meter now."
Noticing that this young man wasn't much of a talker, the driver decided not to press further and focused on driving instead.
