Lao Hu and A Ling fought fiercely against the relentless onslaught of the Zombie Horde from behind. Lao Hu swung his Broken Blade Dagger, the dim light of the tomb casting a faint glimmer on the dagger's blade. He roared as he charged at the approaching zombies, each step filled with determination, using all his strength to push them back. 0

"Come on, you dead things! Watch how Lao Hu takes care of you!" His voice echoed through the tomb, rough and hoarse yet brimming with power, as if he aimed to shatter the oppressive darkness surrounding them. 0

Despite several wounds marring his body, his clothes torn by the zombies' claws and blood seeping through, staining his garments, he showed no sign of retreat in his eyes. The pain from his injuries felt like countless needles piercing him, but he stood resolute. 0

His face was splattered with the foul grime of the undead, his hair disheveled, yet his tough demeanor remained unyielding, like an indomitable mountain resisting the surging tide of zombies. 0

A Ling stood beside him, murmuring incantations as the last remaining talismans in her hands flickered with a faint light, barely maintaining a protective barrier. Her complexion was pale, beads of sweat dotting her forehead, strands of hair clinging to her cheeks, but her expression was focused and determined. 0

"Hold on. The power of this talisman is weak, but it can hold them off for a while," she said softly to Lao Hu, as if encouraging herself while also channeling strength to him. 0

A hint of worry flickered in her eyes; she understood that if the talisman failed, the consequences would be dire. Yet she strove to remain calm, continuously pouring her magical energy into the talisman. Her hands trembled slightly, but she never let go. 0

Professor Li seized this brief moment of respite to continue studying the mysterious symbols etched into the walls of the tomb. 0

His brow furrowed tightly as if he could crush a fly between them; sweat beaded on his forehead and glistened in the dim light. 0

A layer of mist coated his glasses, but he paid it no mind, fixated on those symbols as he muttered to himself, "What could this mean? There must be a way to decipher it." 0

His fingers gently traced the ancient carvings, seeking inspiration from their texture. In an era where knowledge was scarce and technology underdeveloped, he relied solely on his years of archaeological experience and profound knowledge to uncover these unknown secrets. 0

His mind raced through memories of ancient texts he had once studied; those hazy fragments now felt crucial as he pieced together clues related to these symbols. 0

Suddenly, a zombie broke through the defenses and lunged at Professor Li. The creature was tall, its movements stiff yet alarmingly fast, with arms outstretched and dry fingers sharp as eagle talons. 0

Lao Hu shouted, "Professor, watch out!" He dashed forward like a cheetah on the hunt. 0

With the Broken Blade Dagger in hand, he plunged it fiercely into the zombie's back, the blade sinking deep into its body with a dull thud. 0

The zombie howled in pain and turned to attack Lao Hu. A fierce battle ensued as Lao Hu skillfully dodged the creature's strikes, sometimes sidestepping, sometimes crouching low. He waited for the perfect moment to stab at the zombie's vital points again. 0

His gaze was fixed on the zombie's movements, every reaction perfectly timed. After a grueling struggle, Lao Hu finally managed to push the zombie back. 0

“Lao Hu, I owe you one,” Professor Li said gratefully, his voice tinged with relief from having survived. 0

“Professor, you need to focus on your research. We have to find a way out of this or we’re done for,” Lao Hu replied, panting heavily as his chest heaved with each breath, trying to regain some strength. 0

A Ling added, “This talisman won’t hold for long; we need to hurry.” 0

At that moment, the three of them leaned on each other in the deathly atmosphere of the ancient tomb. 0

Lao Hu stood like a loyal guardian, protecting their safety; A Ling was like a faint yet steadfast light, using her magic to temporarily fend off the encroaching darkness; while Professor Li acted as the wise navigator, searching for a way out among the mysterious symbols of the tomb. 0

They awaited news from Zhang Qi and hoped that Professor Li could soon unravel the mystery of the symbols to find a glimmer of hope. 0

Every passing second felt like a knife edge against their hearts, and a tense atmosphere enveloped the entire tomb passage, as if an invisible net was tightly ensnaring them. 0
