Li Xue and Gu Jingchen found themselves in the underground parking lot, witnessing Li Ling and a man engaged in an intimate display inside a car.
Li Ling was seated in the passenger seat while the man occupied the driver's seat. They were locked in a passionate kiss, and the man's hand had slipped under Li Ling's skirt.
Li Xue trembled with anger. "They are so reckless!"
Gu Jingchen placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't be impulsive."
She turned to him, her eyes searching his. "Did you know about this all along?"
He met her gaze steadily. "Yes."
"Then why didn't you say anything?" she pressed.
"Would you have believed me if I did?" he countered.
"I would believe you," she insisted.
"Why?" he asked, intrigued.
"Because I trust you," she replied firmly.
He smiled softly. "That's enough."
"Did you plan this from the start?" she asked, still processing the situation.
"Yes," he confirmed.
"What do you intend to do?" she inquired, curiosity piqued.
"You'll find out soon," he said cryptically.
"Okay," she murmured, falling silent as she gazed through the car window at Li Ling and the man.
Inside the car, the couple continued their fervent kissing, the man's hand roaming over Li Ling's body. Li Xue watched them, her face betraying no emotion.
Gu Jingchen observed her closely. "Xiao Xue, don't be angry."
"I'm not angry," she replied flatly.
"Are you really not angry?" he pressed further.
"I truly am not angry," she reiterated.
"Why are you so calm?" he asked, puzzled by her demeanor.
"Should I be angry?" she responded, her tone steady and composed.
Gu Jingchen shook his head. "It shouldn't be."
Li Xue looked at him. "Then that's right."
Gu Jingchen smiled.
The two of them sat in the car, watching Li Ling and the man.
Ten minutes later, a police car arrived.
Four officers got out and approached the car.
One man knocked on the window.
Li Ling and the man jumped in surprise and quickly separated.
The man rolled down the window. "What's going on?"
The officer looked at him. "We received a report that you are suspected of soliciting. Please come with us."
The man was taken aback for a moment, then angrily retorted, "Nonsense! She is my girlfriend."
The officer replied, "No matter what your relationship is, please come with us."
The man glared at the officer. "Which precinct are you from?"
The officer asked, "Why do you want to know that?"
The man continued to glare. "I want to file a complaint against you!"
The officer shrugged. "Go ahead."
The man exclaimed, "You—"
The officer interrupted him. "Get out of the car."
With no choice, the man stepped out.
The officer then said, "Have her get out too."
The man shot him a glare before turning to Li Ling. "Ling'er, get out of the car."
Li Ling blushed and trembled as she stepped out.
The officers looked at them. "Take out your IDs."
The man glared again. "Don't push it."
The officer replied, "You are suspected of soliciting; I'm just following procedure."
The man protested, "You—"
The officer insisted, "Take out your IDs."
The man had no choice but to take out his ID and toss it to the police. Li Ling also pulled out her ID and threw it to the officer. The police took the IDs, glanced at them, and then looked at them, saying, "Please come with me."
Both the man and Li Ling were taken away by the police. A group of gossip reporters rushed out, snapping photos of them frantically.
Li Xue looked at the gossip reporters and asked, "Did you call them?"
Gu Jingchen looked at her and replied, "No."
Li Xue stared at him, "Then who did?"
Gu Jingchen answered, "It's someone from the Xu Family."
Li Xue's eyes widened, "Are you saying that man just now is from the Xu Family?"
Gu Jingchen confirmed, "Yes."
Li Xue pressed on, "What is your relationship with him?"
Gu Jingchen replied, "He is my cousin."
Li Xue's expression shifted, "Did you report him?"
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Yes."
Li Xue looked at him in disbelief, "Why?"
Gu Jingchen's gaze was steady as he said, "To take revenge on him."
Li Xue asked again, "What did he do?"
Gu Jingchen responded, "During the trip to Y Country, he was manipulating things behind the scenes."
Li Xue absorbed this information, "So you want to deal with him?"
Gu Jingchen affirmed, "Yes."
Li Xue's concern deepened, "You will ruin him this way."
Gu Jingchen met her gaze firmly, "I know."
Li Xue pressed further, "Are you still going to do it?"
Gu Jingchen replied resolutely, "Yes."
Li Xue's voice softened as she asked, "Why?"
Gu Jingchen looked at her intently and said, "For you."
Li Xue fell silent.
Gu Jingchen looked at her, "Do you think I'm too cruel?"
Li Xue shook her head, "No."
Gu Jingchen continued to gaze at her, "Really?"
Li Xue nodded, "Really."
Gu Jingchen asked, "Then why are you looking at me like that?"
Li Xue replied, "How am I looking at you?"
Gu Jingchen said, "You're looking at me with such sympathetic eyes."
Li Xue clarified, "I'm not pitying you; I'm feeling for you."
Gu Jingchen was taken aback.
Li Xue looked at him, "It must have been a difficult decision for you, right?"
Gu Jingchen responded, "I'm fine."
Li Xue assured him, "Don't be afraid; I'll be with you."
Gu Jingchen asked, "Really?"
Li Xue nodded again, "Really."
Gu Jingchen inquired, "You won't leave me?"
Li Xue shook her head, "I won't leave you."
Gu Jingchen pressed on, "You'll always be by my side?"
Li Xue affirmed, "I'll always be by your side."
Gu Jingchen smiled, "Thank you."
Li Xue replied, "No need to thank me."
Gu Jingchen confessed, "I love you."
Li Xue responded, "I love you too."
Gu Jingchen asked again, "Do you really love me?"
Li Xue assured him, "I really love you."
Gu Jingchen declared, "I will love you forever."
Li Xue echoed, "I will love you forever."
Gu Jingchen looked at her and said, "Let's go home."
Li Xue replied, "Okay."
The next day, Xu Zhiming's scandal caused a sensation online. Although the situation was quickly brought under control, it still attracted considerable attention.
When Old Master Xu heard about his grandson's troubles, he fainted on the spot and remained unconscious after being taken to the hospital. The Xu Group was thrown into chaos, lacking leadership and direction.
Gu Jingchen sat in his office, staring at the news on his computer screen with a blank expression. Li Xue sat beside him, observing him closely. "Are you doing this to take revenge on the Xu Family?" she asked.
"Yes," Gu Jingchen replied, maintaining his gaze on her.
Li Xue continued, "What do you plan to do?"
"I plan to swallow the Xu family whole," he stated firmly.
"Are you sure about that?" she pressed.
"I am sure," he affirmed.
"What are you going to do next?" she inquired.
"I will first create chaos among them," he explained.
"And then?" she asked, intrigued.
"Then I will strike," he answered confidently.
"How confident are you?" she probed further.
"I am completely confident," he assured her.
"You seem very sure of yourself," she remarked.
"I have confidence," he reiterated.
"Alright, I support you," Li Xue declared.
"Do you really support me?" Gu Jingchen asked, searching her eyes for sincerity.
She nodded earnestly. "I truly support you."
