I threw the photos in her face.
“Shan Shan, what else do you have to say?”
Shan Shan's face turned pale, her eyes filled with terror. “Sister, I…”
“Are you dating him?”
“Did you sleep with him?”
“Do you really like him, or do you just like his money?”
My barrage of questions left Shan Shan at a loss for words.
“I can give you money.”
“As long as you leave him.”
“Is a hundred thousand enough?”
I locked my gaze onto Shan Shan's eyes, expecting her to accept without hesitation. After all, she was just a girl after money.
“I don’t want your money.”
“I truly love Ma Tao.”
“He said he would marry me.”
Shan Shan pulled out the ring that Ma Tao had given her. The diamond was much larger than the one I had when I got married.
In a fit of rage, I slapped her hard.
“You knew he had a wife and still slept with him, dreaming of marrying him.”
“Do you think his money is so easy to get?”
Shan Shan covered her face and glared at me defiantly. “What right do you have to judge me?”
“It’s your own problem that you can’t keep a man.”
“You’re not worthy of being Ma Tao’s wife.”
I sneered at her. “Whether you're worthy or not is not for you to decide.”
I went straight to Ma Tao and laid everything on the table.
"Do you want her, or do you want me?"
"You choose."
Ma Tao fell silent for a moment before finally speaking, "I choose you."
"I will cut ties with her."
Though my heart felt heavy, I still believed Ma Tao's promise.
That day, we separated to sleep. He took the sofa while I stayed in the bedroom.
"Wife, I'll make things clear with her tomorrow," Ma Tao assured me from the bedroom door.
I sighed. While I felt somewhat reassured, my heart remained burdened.
I told Ma Tao that I had already met Zhou Shanshan. She seemed unwilling to let go easily.
Ma Tao chuckled, his tone full of confidence. "She's just a naive girl who only cares about money."
"If I give her some cash, she'll leave."
The next day, I received a message from Zhou Shanshan.
"Don't worry, I keep my word; I won't bother him anymore."
I finally breathed a sigh of relief, thinking life could return to normal.
However, little did I know this was just Ma Tao's delaying tactic. Behind my back, he and Zhou Shanshan were concocting a big plan.
That day, due to overtime at work, I asked Ma Tao to pick up Tang Tang from school. After finishing my tasks, I rushed to the kindergarten to meet him. To my surprise, I saw Zhou Shanshan in Ma Tao's car.
Tang Tang's eyes were red, clearly having cried. Zhou Shanshan was saying something to her, but Ma Tao was nowhere to be seen.
My heart tightened, and I rushed over.
"Mom."
Tang Tang hugged me, looking aggrieved.
"Don't be afraid."
I whispered to comfort her while keeping a wary eye on Zhou Shanshan.
"What did you say to my daughter?"
I asked Zhou Shanshan coldly.
"I didn't say anything."
Zhou Shanshan blinked innocently.
"It was just a casual chat."
"Why are you in my husband's car? Didn't you promise to leave?"
I said, my voice trembling with agitation.
"I just came to say goodbye; I'll be leaving right after."
After Zhou Shanshan left, I checked the dashcam footage.
To my shock, Zhou Shanshan had slapped Tang Tang.
And Ma Tao was sitting right next to her at the time.
Not only did he remain indifferent, but he also kissed Zhou Shanshan.
So, he hadn't cut ties with her at all; it was all a lie.
Anger and betrayal burned like flames in my chest.
