After sending Yao Nian back to school, Shen Du felt a chill creeping over him and took a turn directly toward his apartment. 0

Once Yao Nian left, Ji Zheyuan sprawled out in the backseat, taking up the entire space with his legs wide open. The girl seemed shy, but last night she had pounced with quite a fierce energy, catching me off guard. 0

Shen Du curled the corners of his lips but said nothing. 0

"It's pretty fun," Ji Zheyuan continued, "Xiaolin likes her too. After all that pain yesterday, she even told me to bring her along next time." 0

Shen Du shot him a glance. "Isn't your wife making money?" 0

"She is! I almost forgot to tell you—we set the wedding date for next spring." 0

"So soon?" 0

"Is that fast? If it weren't for that case dragging on, I would have had the wedding this year. No need to delay it this long." 0

Shen Du rubbed his temples, adjusting the air conditioning up by two degrees with a sigh. 0

"What are you sighing about?" 0

"Even you're getting married," Shen Du scoffed lightly, feeling a bit sentimental. 0

"Hey, I’m saying," Ji Zheyuan leaned forward, "this guy is getting married, and you still have no movement at all?" 0

"What movement?" Shen Du replied lazily. 0

After a moment of silence, he added, "Ever since breaking up with Ren Ran, you haven't looked for anyone else. You’re not still thinking about her, are you?" 0

Shen Du didn’t even blink, his gaze fixed straight ahead. "You have quite an imagination." 0

"It’s been almost two years. There are plenty of women who like you; I won’t even mention those girls in our law firm—there are several clients who have shown interest," he said, leaning in curiously. "You really haven’t liked anyone?" 0

After turning thirty, Shen Du had been urged to marry more than once. Given his age, relatives and friends had hinted at introducing him to potential partners. However, they all knew he was determined; after two failed attempts at nudging him toward marriage, they stopped bringing it up. 0

As Ji Zheyuan mentioned it, an image of a young girl suddenly flashed in Shen Du's mind. 0

"Where are you going?" Ji Zheyuan noticed he was driving in the wrong direction and asked if he wasn't heading back to the firm. 0

Shen Du parked at the entrance of the community and signaled to turn. "I’m going to catch up on some sleep. You can take the car and wash it for me while you're at it." 0

With that, he got out of the car. 0

Ji Zheyuan rolled down the window and shouted after him, "You old man!" 0

After returning home, Shen Du went straight to the bathroom for a hot shower. Even after changing into a fresh set of clothes, he still felt cold and his throat was slightly tight. 0

He sighed and walked into the living room, pulling out the ear thermometer from the drawer of the coffee table. The thermometer lit up with a red light, displaying a high temperature. 0

Shen Du was puzzled about how he had caught a fever, especially since he had spent the entire night by the fire. After swallowing a fever-reducing pill, he returned to his bedroom, wrapped himself in the blanket, and closed his eyes, trying to summon sleep. 0

Though he felt quite tired, sleep eluded him at that moment. He reached for his phone on the bedside table and discreetly opened the photo gallery. 0

In one of the pictures, a girl rested her head on his shoulder, her profile serene and calm, her face bathed in a soft orange glow from the light. He had taken many photos of the sunrise, but this particular one he had never shown her. 0

For some reason, even while capturing the beauty of dawn, he had inexplicably turned the camera towards her. Perhaps it was because the girl before him outshone the fiery brilliance of sunrise itself. 0

Shen Du turned off the screen and whispered softly to himself, as if reminding himself: I must be losing my mind. 0
