Yao Nian pinched his arm in annoyance. "You selfishly made me miss such a rare sunrise!"
Shen Du chuckled to appease her. "If you want to go again, I can take you anytime. But if I had woken you up, maybe this photo wouldn't exist."

Yao Nian paused for a moment. "What is it?"
"I hadn't watched any Miyazaki films before. I only watched 'Whisper of the Heart' because I saw your profile picture. I was curious and wanted to understand your tastes."
"After watching it, did you think I was particularly childish?"
"On the contrary, your understanding of relationships exceeded my expectations. At least I thought you'd ask me what time I got home last night."
Yao Nian chuckled softly. "So you're upset that I didn't reach out to you last night?"
Shen Du sighed lightly and pulled her closer. Sometimes, the little girl didn’t need to be so sensible.
He lowered his head and followed it with a lingering kiss.
Shen Du had intended to tell her about running into Ren Ran that evening but couldn’t bring himself to ruin this beautiful moment; in the end, he kept it to himself.
On the seventh day of the new year, Shen Du decided to let Yao Nian stay in Shanghai while he went alone to Huai Bei to meet Yao Zhandong.
One reason was that even if Yao Nian went with him, they wouldn’t be able to meet; he was worried that those debt collectors would cause unnecessary trouble if they found out she had returned.
Shen Du stayed in Huai Bei for two days. Based on Yao Zhandong's account and after visiting his company again, he sensed that this matter was not as simple as ordinary illegal fundraising.
Although they had been in contact over the past couple of days, Yao Nian's anxious heart continued to race until Shen Du returned.

In short, most of the funds that Yao Zhandong raised were used for project purposes, and the remaining portion could be actively refunded. The most critical point was that the project's funding chain broke due to the construction permit not being approved, which prevented them from obtaining the pre-sale certificate. However, according to Yao Zhandong, the construction permit was obtained through a rigorous approval process by a designated person in the planning department. He even personally accompanied them during the project inspection, where the leaders verbally permitted it to proceed.
The only oversight was that he had not seen the permit with his own eyes. Shen Du decided to approach this angle while also asking a friend in Huaibei to gather information from within the department.
