Someone brought a watermelon onto the train, while another brought a brain.
According to police identification, the victim was confirmed to be Wang Wentao.
He was a 48-year-old man from Bengbu City, Anhui Province. A year ago, he divorced his wife, Zhao Suyun, but they continued to live together afterward.
Through interviews, it was learned that Wang Wentao had visited his ex-wife Zhao Suyun's residence on the night of March 10, just one day before he went missing.
Neighbors reported hearing shouting and a "thud-thud-thud" sound but thought it was just some special event and didn’t pay much attention.
One neighbor frowned as he recalled the scene, saying, "I heard quite a commotion inside, but I didn’t feel right about going to check."
According to the victim's brother, since his brother went missing, Zhao Suyun not only failed to report it but also behaved very strangely. Whenever he tried to visit to inquire about his brother, she would come up with various excuses to avoid him. The police smiled slightly, thinking this was a solid lead.
Clearly, Zhao Suyun had significant suspicion surrounding her, and her home should be the primary crime scene. The police immediately found Zhao Suyun, but she adamantly denied any wrongdoing: "We are divorced; why would I want to harm him?"
However, without evidence, they needed more than just words. Zhao Suyun crossed her arms defensively, her eyes betraying a hint of panic while she still tried to maintain her composure.
The investigators conducted a thorough search of Zhao Suyun's home, but it had been meticulously cleaned and yielded no useful clues.
One investigator crouched down to examine every corner and shook his head in frustration, saying, "It's too clean; there’s nothing useful here." Could it be that Wang Wentao was killed elsewhere? The case became increasingly mysterious, prompting the police to investigate their social relationships further.
It was discovered that Zhao Suyun had relied entirely on Wang Wentao financially throughout their 20 years of marriage. So why did she choose to divorce him in 2006?
What exactly is the conflict between the two? According to Zhao Suyun, Wang Wentao is of questionable character, addicted to gambling, and not only does he frequently commit domestic violence, but he also has affairs outside.
"Probably when the child was not even a year old, he started seeing other women. He would bring them home to sleep with him. I would sleep with the child on one side, while he brought women back to the other side," Zhao Suyun said, her face filled with anger and resentment.
By chance, Zhao Suyun met 40-year-old Wang Bin, who is also from Anhui Bengbu City and has been working as a motorcycle taxi driver in Shanghai for many years. They quickly fell in love.
Not long after, Zhao Suyun eagerly divorced Wang Wentao, thinking that happiness awaited her. Little did she know that Wang Wentao would continue to harass her.
This raises suspicions: could it be that Wang Bin felt dissatisfied and decided to kill her?
The police quickly launched an investigation into his whereabouts and discovered that he indeed returned to Bengbu from Shanghai on March 10.
The investigator smiled slightly, thinking this should be a solid lead; Wang Bin's home was likely the first crime scene.
Unexpectedly, after a thorough search, no anomalies were found, leaving everyone perplexed.
Lost within layers of confusion, one investigator scratched his head and said, "What on earth is going on?"
Who is the real murderer? Just as the case fell into another stalemate, a police officer reviewing surveillance footage made a significant discovery.
The footage showed that on the evening of March 14 at 8 PM, Wang Bin appeared at Shanghai Railway Station holding a bag containing a spherical object. The investigator concluded that it likely contained a severed head.
At 11 PM, he returned to Shanghai from Suzhou, but the bag in his hand was nowhere to be found.
One could only imagine the psychological trauma experienced by the passengers on the train.
This time, it was finally certain—without a doubt, Wang Bin was the culprit in this case. However, when faced with questioning, this guy adopted a principle of three refusals: first, he would not admit to anything.
Second, he claimed to know nothing.
Third, he refused to cooperate.
He maintained an attitude of indifference, neither admitting nor denying anything.
"The third one can't be a refusal to cooperate. Forget that. I don't know anything," Wang Bin sat in the interrogation room, his gaze wandering as he pretended to be clueless.
