Li Mu slowly pulled out his phone from the pocket of his leather jacket, his gaze cold as it swept over the man in black before him. He handed the phone over. The man took it without a change in expression, quickly opening the album to examine the "evidence" photos that Li Mu had claimed. The images on the screen flickered with a cold light in the darkness, reflecting off the man's face and making him appear even more frigid and cautious. His eyes scanned every detail in the photos, and only after confirming their authenticity did he turn off the phone and withdraw his gaze. 0

After verifying the evidence, he unceremoniously handed a silver briefcase to Li Mu. The briefcase glinted with a cold metallic sheen under the light, its lock firmly closed, indicating that its contents were not ordinary rewards easily obtained. The man in black spoke in a chilling tone, as if this were an emotionless transaction: "Five million. Do you need it?" 0

Li Mu took the briefcase, feeling its cold metal surface against his fingertips. He shook his head slightly, a cold smile curling his lips, laced with a hint of sarcasm: "No need. I trust that someone who can find a professional like me will also have a professional employer. This amount of money should not be an issue." 0

Upon hearing this, the man's lips curled slightly, a flicker of cold amusement flashing in his eyes as if he found Li Mu's confidence somewhat satisfying. He nodded lightly, seemingly uninterested in further conversation, and returned the phone to Li Mu before turning to walk towards the luxury car. 0

Li Mu watched as the man calmly returned to the vehicle, his movements precise and controlled, as if this transaction was merely a small part of a larger mission. Once inside the car, the sound of the door closing echoed in the silent night, followed by the extinguishing of the interior lights and a low rumble from the engine. 0

As Li Mu mounted his motorcycle, he contemplated where to place the briefcase so it wouldn’t interfere with his driving yet remained within reach. Just as he was about to start the engine, however, the black luxury car approached slowly and deliberately from ahead, seemingly preparing to leave the alleyway. Li Mu initially thought they would simply depart, just like countless transactions before—once a mission was completed, the relationship between employer and assassin ended without any unnecessary words or interactions. 0

Yet, as the luxury car passed by him, it slowed down as if intending to stop. Li Mu's brow furrowed slightly; his alertness heightened as he focused intently on every movement of the vehicle. His instincts told him that this transaction was not as simple as he had imagined. Sure enough, the window on the driver's side slid down silently, revealing half of a face in the darkness. The man looked at Li Mu with an inscrutable gaze that seemed to be assessing something. 0

Li Mu's heart raced slightly; doubt flickered in his eyes. He quickly slipped one hand into his pocket and felt for the gun's grip, ready to respond to any sudden developments. This scene stirred unease within him; past experiences warned that any unnecessary movement during such transactions could signify variables—potentially even deadly betrayals. 0

Noticing Li Mu's cautious gesture, the driver smirked slightly, revealing a knowing cold smile. 0

Li Mu tightened his grip on the motorcycle handlebar; surprise coursed through him for a moment but he maintained his composure. The helmet concealed any sign of hesitation on his face. He had expected the driver to deliver some curt remark before leaving but instead, a voice came from the back seat with a playful and mocking tone. 0

"Mr. Phantom, no need to be so tense." The man in the back seat chuckled disdainfully; his voice carried an air of cynical cruelty. "I just think your performance was quite spectacular. Especially that series of maneuvers just now—wow... you really had those gangsters dancing to your tune!" 0

Li Mu paused for a moment, surprise and suspicion flooding through him. The man's words indicated that he was fully aware of Li Mu's actions at Qihong Ice Factory—down to every detail—as if someone had been monitoring him throughout. His gaze instinctively darted around into the surrounding darkness while his mind raced through possible sources of surveillance. Where could they be watching him from? Was this precise intelligence gathered from hidden cameras or did they possess other undetectable means? 0

The feeling of being followed by an invisible gaze sent a chill down Li Mu's spine. The passenger behind him seemed to sense his unease and continued to chuckle lightly, "Don't be so surprised. A skilled assassin like you certainly deserves our... attention. Rest assured, we are merely admiring your methods." The mockery and coldness in his voice heightened Li Mu's alertness; these people clearly knew him inside out, even more than he had anticipated. 0

Li Mu maintained his calm demeanor, lowering his head to let the shadows conceal the flicker of displeasure beneath his mask. The extent of their surveillance indicated that their interest was far from mere admiration. He silently observed the luxury car, feeling a growing wariness within him, aware that he needed to be more cautious—these individuals were likely not as simple as they appeared. 0

As the luxury car drove away, the night breeze swept past him, and he remained seated, deeply imprinting those words in his mind. 0

Li Mu took a deep breath to suppress the chill creeping in, gripping the motorcycle's handlebars tightly. He lowered his head and gently pressed the clutch, twisting his wrist sharply. With the roar of the engine rising, the motorcycle's RPM surged instantly, a surge of power ready to unleash. The sound of wind rushed past his ears as Li Mu swiftly exited the narrow alleyway, the black motorcycle darting like an arrow into the night, leaving behind a fleeting shadow that gradually faded into the distance. 0

The speed of the motorcycle brought him into close contact with the night wind, which sliced through him like a blade, chilling his clear thoughts. His gaze remained sharp and cold, yet a lingering chill haunted him. The words of the man in the back seat echoed like a warning bell, carrying an undeniable threat that struck at his core. Not only did they understand his actions, but they also grasped every detail—this meant that every move he made might already be under their surveillance. The feeling of being spied upon heightened his vigilance like a tide, akin to an unshakeable shadow lurking in darkness. 0

The title "Ghost Shadow" was never unfounded in this world. His previous actions had always been silent and unseen, allowing targets to fall victim without ever realizing it. He understood well that this reputation was built on years of caution and refinement. Yet today, for the first time, he felt an inescapable threat—as if he had become someone else's target; no matter how well he hid, he could not escape those icy eyes. 0

The more Li Mu thought about it, the more uneasy he became; his fingers tightened around the grips as he twisted the throttle to its limit, producing a deafening roar from the motorcycle in the night. He realized that this employer was far more than just "not simple." Their power and resources evidently surpassed all enemies he had faced before. This time, they were not merely an employer but rather a puppeteer operating from the shadows, pulling at his strings and possibly watching everything unfold. 0

In the night wind, Li Mu took a deep breath and calmed himself down. He knew that after this transaction, everything was far from over. 0
