"That's not her," Lin Yuan said, shaking his head slowly. "The woman I saw had short hair and several piercings in her ears. She looked distressed, like she was in the middle of an argument with her husband." 0

The officer studied Lin Yuan's face, searching for any signs of deceit. "You were at the restaurant just before the incident occurred. You must understand how serious this is. We need to know everything you remember." 0

Lin Yuan felt a knot tighten in his stomach. He had only gone to pick up a meal; he never imagined it would lead to this. "I swear, I didn’t see anything unusual after I left. They were arguing, and I took the food and left. I didn’t think much of it at the time." 0

The officer leaned forward, his expression stern. "Three minutes after you left, Mr. Liu was found dead. His wife is missing, and you are the last person known to have seen them together. This is why we need your cooperation." 0

Lin Yuan swallowed hard, trying to recall every detail from that evening. "I really didn’t see anything else. The couple seemed to be having a personal dispute; it wasn’t my place to interfere." 0

The officer nodded, jotting down notes before showing Lin Yuan another photograph. "This is Mrs. Liu. Does she look familiar?" 0

Lin Yuan's heart sank as he looked at the picture of a gentle-looking woman with long hair and soft features. "No, that's not her," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. 0

"Are you sure?" the officer pressed, his gaze unwavering. 0

"Yes," Lin Yuan insisted, feeling a mix of frustration and fear wash over him. "I’m certain about what I saw." 0

The officer sighed, leaning back in his chair as he considered Lin Yuan's words. "Alright, we’ll need your contact information in case we have more questions. But remember, if you know anything else—anything at all—you must come forward." 0

Lin Yuan nodded, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on him. He had hoped for a simple delivery job that evening, but now he found himself entangled in something far more dangerous than he could have ever anticipated. 0

"Did Liu cheat?" 0

"Right now, we are asking you questions. You just need to answer." 0

The officer's gaze showed no sign of relaxation. 0

"How much of their argument did you hear?" 0

"It seemed to be about the children's schooling. The housing prices in the Haishi school district are high. The boss's wife said she wanted her children to attend the best middle and high schools, but the boss couldn't afford that much—at most, he could offer three million." 0

To be honest, Lin Yuan genuinely believed that the restaurant's profits had reached such a level. 0

"Oh, right. They also mentioned a house in the Tianshui Bay area." 0

If it weren't for his photographic memory, Lin Yuan probably wouldn't have remembered much. 0

After he finished speaking, the officer across from him looked at him with some surprise. How did this delivery guy, who only spent a short time in the restaurant, know so much? 0

"Okay, we'll take the clues you've provided for now." 0

The officer stood up, and Lin Yuan readily got up from his seat without any sense of restraint. 0

This demeanor intrigued the young officer sitting nearby; it was the first time he had seen someone so unafraid of their captain. 0

As Lin Yuan left the interrogation room, he had to walk through a long corridor. A few doors were open, and just a glance inside revealed some scenes. 0

It was during this glance that Lin Yuan saw Liu's lifeless body. 0

On a whiteboard held down by magnets was a very bloody photo. Liu's body was almost drenched in red; such blood loss would surely mean death. 0

Next to him were three words written: "Heartless Man." 0

If this wasn't done by the boss's wife, then the most likely person to write those words would be his wife. 0

Matters of the heart are always complicated. Lin Yuan sighed. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly seemed to notice something and stepped back to take another look at the photo. 0

"Lin Yuan?" 0

The young officer who had been sitting earlier was preparing to print out the transcript and couldn't help but feel curious as he saw Lin Yuan standing there. 0

"If you had left a bit later, you might have witnessed this scene firsthand. Good thing you left quickly." 0

The young officer sighed as he closed the door. 0

They could look at these things themselves, but it was better not to let the public see them. 0

Lin Yuan smiled. 0

The other party might not choose to act when I’m around, so did Liu really cheat? Is there that much interest? After all, Lin Yuan wasn’t part of the police department, so the young officer couldn’t say anything definitive. Until the matter could be verified, everything was just reasonable speculation. 0

It’s not that; I’m just curious. It’s quite rare for a woman to dispose of a man in such a short time as three minutes. 0

After Lin Yuan finished speaking, he had already left. The young officer in the hallway pondered that this statement did make some sense. Or could it be that women who run restaurants are simply stronger? 0

Once outside the police station, Lin Yuan opened his phone. The delivery workers also had their own group chat, but since there were too many people in that regional group, Lin Yuan rarely spoke up. However, perhaps because there were many delivery workers from this restaurant, the discussions were particularly lively. 0

I think it was his wife who did it, but could she really have acted so quickly? And what about the mistress? Usually, the boss’s wife seems quite capable; to be fair, even if she’s divorced with kids, there’s really no need to go this far. What if that child is actually Liu’s? There’s nothing shameful about raising your own child. 0

It’s boring anyway; it’s better to talk about these things. Some people also knew that their delivery workers were involved and many wanted to find out who was responsible, but at that time everyone was busy delivering orders—who would pay attention to this? 0

Lin Yuan quietly put away his phone; these were potential future colleagues, and he couldn’t expose himself. As for the photos… 0

After looking at the photos, Lin Yuan already had a simple guess in his mind, and once the forensic examination was done, it would quickly become clear. The one who killed Liu wasn’t just one person. 0

It was two. 0

As for why it was two, perhaps after being a beast for too long, they forgot how to be human. The criminal system didn’t impose any strict requirements on Lin Yuan to commit crimes, so whatever he chose to do with this system was entirely up to him. If the police couldn’t figure it out based on the clues from the body, they should be able to find something out from them. 0

Lin Yuan looked at his phone with a hint of helplessness. He hadn't made any money yet, but he still had all sorts of wishes. His salary for next month would take a while to arrive. 0

He rode his electric bike away from the police station, and this scene was captured by someone nearby. The photo of Lin Yuan was clear, and as his finger clicked the send button, his picture was shared. As for the motive behind the covert shot, there were greater schemes at play. 0
