Wang Qiang suddenly sat up, as if he had just experienced something terrifying, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He wiped the sweat from his brow and was momentarily stunned. Then he began to feel over his entire body. 0

Something was off. He distinctly remembered perishing alongside those zombies; how could his body still be intact? 0

Wang Qiang muttered to himself, and it was no wonder he was confused. The countless zombies that seemed endless, along with the despairing deaths of his comrades right before his eyes, were memories he could never forget. Not to mention the unbearable pain he felt when he chose to self-destruct; that couldn’t have been a figment of his imagination! 0

Yet here he was, perfectly unharmed. What could this mean? 0

As he pondered this, a sudden memory flashed in his mind—a young man named Wang Jiefang. Born in 1945, Wang Jiefang's father was a soldier who fought against invaders. That year, when the invaders surrendered, the country entered a phase of liberation, and it was during this time that the original owner of this body was born. His father named him accordingly. 0

The original owner’s mother died from excessive bleeding during childbirth, and since his father had to follow the army into battle, the original owner grew up with his grandmother. 0

After much struggle, the country was established, and the original owner’s father was promoted to deputy battalion commander due to his military achievements. The original owner finally began to bond with his father and experienced the warmth of paternal love. 0

However, good times were short-lived. Less than two years later, the Korean War broke out, and the original owner’s father was sent to the battlefield—never to return. 0

When he learned of his father's death in battle, it felt like a thunderbolt striking him in the chest. His grandmother nearly cried herself blind upon hearing the news. This kind and strong old woman, after enduring immense sorrow, eventually fell ill. 0

Yet, due to her endless concern for her grandson, she fought against her illness and managed to hold on. But from that moment on, her health steadily declined, and she grew increasingly frail. 0

Academically, the original owner did not show any particular talent. Thus, at a young age, he resolutely decided to drop out of school and return home. 0

Fortunately, thanks to his father's status as a martyr and the kind assistance from local officials, he had the opportunity to apprentice under a renowned chef and began learning culinary skills. 0

To everyone's surprise, the original owner displayed extraordinary talent in cooking. In just under five years, he mastered all of his master's teachings. His master even held a grand banquet to celebrate his graduation from apprenticeship. 0

Over the years, he and his grandmother managed to survive on his father's pension and meager subsidies from local officials. Although they lived modestly, they persevered through those tough times—especially during the Great Famine when they managed to stay alive. However, as time passed, his father's pension gradually dwindled, increasing their financial burden. 0

To celebrate completing his apprenticeship, the original owner decided to buy a pound of meat to cook a nice meal for himself and his grandmother. 0

Just as he finished preparing dinner, Mrs. Qin from the courtyard came over with a bowl asking for some meat. The original owner was reluctant to share what little meat he had for himself after such a long time without it. 0

Seeing that he refused to give her any meat, Mrs. Qin's face darkened as she turned to leave. The original owner thought she had gone for good; however, just as he and his grandmother began their meal, Shazhu kicked open their door! 0

Shazhu shouted that the original owner was heartless for not lending any meat to Sister Qin's family who were struggling so much. He declared that he would teach the original owner a lesson! 0
