Before Wang Jiefang could respond, Grandma took the bowl and went out. She felt happy just watching her dear grandson eat well!
After drinking two bowls of porridge, Wang Jiefang stopped. He knew that if he kept eating, Grandma would go hungry. Their family’s situation was indeed a bit dire!
He and Grandma lived across from Yanbu Gui in the front courtyard. Their home had two rooms, just enough for him and Grandma to each have one. They cooked outside, so if something delicious was made at home, it couldn’t be hidden!
Since they lived in the front courtyard, everyone who came and went through the big yard passed by their door. When Shazhu walked to work and saw Wang Jiefang inside his house, he turned around and walked straight in!
"Hey, Jiefang! What’s going on? I heard you went blind? I’ve never seen a blind person before; come on! Let me take a good look!"
As Shazhu spoke, he deliberately looked into Wang Jiefang's eyes. Seeing them dull and lifeless only made Shazhu more gleeful. "Tsk tsk, I didn’t think you really were blind!"
"In my opinion, you brought this on yourself! Who told you to be so selfish? Sister Qin's family is struggling; you wouldn’t lend them some meat. Now look at what happened to you!"
"Hey? Aren't you supposed to be tough? Come on then! Hit me again!"
As Shazhu spoke, he poked Wang Jiefang's head with his finger!
Hearing Shazhu's words, Grandma was about to rush out to scold him from the adjacent room when Xu Damao passed by. Hearing Shazhu's taunts, he immediately said: "Shazhu, aren’t you being a bit of a coward? Jiefang is blind now; why are you bullying him?"
"What does it matter to you if I bully Wang Jiefang? Watch out or I’ll hit you!" After hearing Xu Damao’s words, Shazhu charged at him!
Although Xu Damao often suffered losses at Shazhu's hands, he couldn’t help but provoke him whenever they met! "You big fool! You think just because Jiefang can’t see now that he doesn’t remember who was crying after getting beaten up a couple of days ago?" Xu Damao scoffed at Shazhu.
Shazhu viewed being beaten by Wang Jiefang as a great humiliation. He didn’t believe he couldn’t take on Wang Jiefang; he thought that day was just because his condition wasn’t good that he got beaten!
Now, when Xu Damao used this matter to provoke him, he immediately dashed out: "Xu Damao, I see you’re looking for trouble!"
Fortunately, Xu Damao knew Shazhu well. After saying that, he quickly left the courtyard, hopped on his bicycle, and pedaled away with all his might!
After Shazhu chased after him, Xu Damao had already run far away. "Damn it! Xu Damao, you little brat, just wait for me!"
Shazhu glanced at Wang Jiefang's house and hesitated for a moment. "Forget it, I should get to work. I'll deal with this fool when I get back."
