The cherry trees on both sides of the road droop their heads in the night breeze, as if gently listening to the whispers of the world.
Murano Rimi and Izumi Shinichi walk on their way home, both with a lingering fatigue on their faces, a weariness from the intense battle they have just experienced.
However, what made them even more uneasy was the hunger that welled up from within.
"Are you hungry too?" Shinichi asked, his voice filled with an indescribable sense of urgency.
"Ah, I'm very hungry," Rimi nodded. She hadn't realized how much energy it took to have a parasite living on her. It really wasn't easy to take care of a pet like this!
Shinichi looked around and spotted a brightly lit ramen shop. They walked in and ordered two hearty bowls of char siu ramen and some side dishes.
The char siu in the ramen is thick and juicy, paired with the rich broth and chewy noodles, it looks absolutely mouthwatering.
Shinichi picked up a piece of char siu with his chopsticks, put it in his mouth, and instantly the delicious meat fragrance exploded on his tongue, like setting off a firework of flavors on his taste buds. He couldn't help but exclaim, "This char siu is really delicious, you should try it."
Rimi also picked up a piece and put it in her mouth. The taste was like the climax of a symphony, making her feel relaxed and happy. She smiled and said, "Indeed, this may be the most delicious char siu I've ever had."
At that moment, a few young people walked into the restaurant. They glanced at the table where Shinichi and Rimi were enjoying a variety of dishes, enough for four people, and couldn't help but exchange sidelong glances.
Shinichi noticed their expressions, but he didn't pay any attention to it. Instead, he asked Rimi, "Do you feel especially hungry? Why do I feel like this bowl of ramen is not enough?"
Rimi smiled and replied, "It's probably because of the battle just now. Mi and Right always make us feel especially hungry after a battle."
"I see, then let's have another bowl." Shinichi called the waiter over and ordered another bowl of ramen.
The ramen quickly arrived, and the two of them ate and chatted about various things. Shinichi suddenly felt that the ordinary time spent with Rimi was more precious than any battle.
After eating, Shinichi felt a satisfaction he had never experienced before, as if all his weariness had been swept away by the delicious meal.
Rimi also felt the same way. She looked at Shinichi and her tone became somewhat serious: "However, we cannot be complacent because of this. After all, there are still more dangers, like parasites, waiting for us."
Shinichi nodded, knowing well that even temporary peace was just the calm before the storm.
After settling the bill, the two of them walked out of the ramen shop. Suddenly, Shinichi stopped and looked into Rimi's eyes, saying earnestly, "No matter what parasite we may encounter in the future, I will face and solve it together with you."
The intense summer afternoon sun shines down on the streets and alleys of a certain city in Japan, creating a warm yet slightly heavy atmosphere. Murano Rimi and Izumi Shinichi walk along the street, their steps light but their moods heavy in their own ways.
Before long, they arrived at a park. The park was not very big, but it had thick shade from the trees and lush green lawns. However, beautiful scenes are always shattered by reality.
Rimi and Shinichi saw a little cat buried in a sand pit. This poor little life only showed its head, while several teenagers in different styles of clothing were standing not far away, throwing small stones at the cat.
"Too bad, just missed it." A young man in a sports jersey grinned, clearly enjoying the thrill of tormenting the animal.
Another boy, wearing a patterned T-shirt, also picked up a stone and proudly said, "Hey, look at me."
"These little brats, I'll show them who's boss!" Rimi couldn't help but shout. She trembled slightly, and Mi—the parasite attached to her right leg—could also feel her anger.
"Rimi, I feel like you've changed. I remember you didn't used to talk like this before..." Shinichi felt a little uneasy, with a puzzled expression on his face.
"No, I mean they're really too cruel," Rimi awkwardly corrected herself, then walked towards those teenagers.
"It's okay, let me handle this. I'll go deal with these naughty kids," Shinichi said with a serious expression and a determined tone. After speaking, he walked slowly in the direction of the sand pit. As he walked, his right hand— the part parasitized by the "Right" parasite— slightly deformed, as if it was ready to strike at any moment.
Arriving at the edge of the sandpit, Shinichi squatted down gently and carefully reached into the sand with both hands, slowly digging out the cat. His movements were extremely gentle, as if he was afraid of disturbing this little life. After rescuing the cat, Shinichi carefully placed it on a clean patch of grass.
The cat let out a crisp "meow," as if expressing gratitude to Shinichi. Then it quickly ran off, disappearing into the dense shade of the park.
Shinichi slowly stood up, turned around, and stared at the few teenagers with a gaze full of anger and dignity. His voice was cold and almost gnashed his teeth as he said, "Living beings are not toys, they all have life, just like you!"
The teenager in the jersey sneered and said, "Hahaha, so cliché."
The teenager in the patterned T-shirt also let out a cold laugh and made a mocking expression, then said, "Are you for real?"
Shinichi didn't say anything more. He knew that this kind of person wouldn't easily listen to advice. He turned and walked away, but it was clear that those few teenagers were not going to let him off that easily.
"Hey, are you ignoring us?" the young man in the jersey called out loudly, as if provoking.
At that moment, Rimi felt a bit nervous. She walked over to Shinichi and asked quietly, "Shinichi, it seems like those three brats aren't planning to let it go, right?"
Shinichi smiled faintly, appearing very calm. He glanced at Rimi and replied, "It's okay, let's see what tricks they can come up with."
Three teenagers holding stones, looking at each other with a hint of cunning in their eyes. The one in patterned clothes smiles and raises the stone, gripping it tightly in their hand.
"Ready, set, throw," the one in patterned clothes orders with a mischievous and wicked tone, a sly smile forming at the corner of their mouth.
Three stones flew out like missiles, rapidly heading towards Shinichi. But Shinichi remained surprisingly calm. His body didn't even turn around, as if he had eyes on the back of his head, effortlessly catching the flying stones one by one.
After catching the stones, Shinichi slowly turned around, revealing a cold, almost sinister expression on his face. His eyes seemed to devour everything, filled with a threatening and unquestionable dominance.
"I want to eat you all," his fierce eyes seemed to be roaring.
The faces of the three young men instantly turned pale, as if they had seen the terrifying fear of death enveloping them. Their originally superior and complacent expressions had now disappeared without a trace.
Shinichi tightly gripped the stone in his hand, his Right hand slightly deformed, as if it were as hard as steel. Then, with his Right hand, he accurately and precisely threw the stones back one by one, just like bullets shooting out of a gun, instantly hitting the target.
"Ah, it hurts!" The boy in the jersey cried out in pain, clutching his forehead where the stones had struck.
"We need to go quickly," the young man in patterned clothes widened his eyes, clearly frightened. He grabbed the arm of another young man, as if trying to escape from hell.
"So scary, that person is definitely a monster!" The last young man was so frightened that his face turned pale, and he muttered incoherently.
Shinichi gave a faint smile, then turned his head and said to Rimi in a calm but confident tone, "Let's go!"
"You're really amazing, Shinichi," Rimi praised him.
"It's nothing, I just did what I thought was right," Shinichi said with a smile.
