Li Changjiang handed the jade to Sun Man, who examined it closely and nodded in appreciation. "This is fine jade, truly exceptional!" 0

Li Changjiang raised his head slightly, looking at Sun Man and Zeng Liang. "This jade is a treasured heirloom of the the Li Family, passed down through generations. I never intended to sell it, but… sigh!" He shook his head and sighed. 0

Zeng Liang chuckled, "But you lost everything at Deng Gang's gambling den and couldn't pay your debts. So you had no choice but to sell it to cover your gambling losses, right?" 0

Surprised by Zeng Liang's words, Li Changjiang asked, " Constable Zeng, how do you know this?" 0

"Well," Zeng Liang replied casually, taking a sip of his drink. "I saw you with Deng Gang this morning, and your behavior was quite peculiar. I sent someone to investigate your backgrounds." 0

Li Changjiang nodded in confusion and continued, "I planned to sell this ancient jade for several tens of thousands of taels to repay Deng Gang and keep some for my living expenses. I spread the word about selling the jade, and soon two people from the original gate came." 0

He glanced at Lin Kong beside him and said, "Those two were Lin Kong and Shan Jie. Shan Jie seemed particularly interested in the jade and offered one hundred thousand taels for it. I was about to agree to the deal when Deng Gang suddenly barged in, demanding that I use the jade to settle my debt. I refused, and Shan Jie stood up for me. Later, Shan Jie promised he would return within two days with one hundred thousand taels to buy my jade." 0

"I was waiting eagerly for his return, but this morning at dawn, Deng Gang stormed into my residence with murderous intent. He took me to his Hero Gathering Pavilion and furiously told me not to expect Shan Jie to come back for the jade because he had already killed him! After that, I encountered Constable Zeng and several bounty hunters here. Everything I've said is true; please see for yourselves." 0

Zeng Liang tilted his head slightly toward Sun Man, only to find that the official was staring intently at the white jade in his hands, nodding repeatedly in awe. 0

Just as Zeng Liang was about to speak up, Sun Man interjected, " Constable Zeng, what do you think about the markings on this jade?" 0

Following Sun Man's gaze, Zeng Liang noticed a faint pink mark on the back of the jade that resembled a dragon twisting and turning as if it were trying to break free from the jade itself. He couldn't help but marvel inwardly: what a precious gem! It truly was a rare treasure! 0

Sun Man asked Li Changjiang, "Do you know the origin of this Thousand-Year-Old Jade?" 0

Li Changjiang paused for a moment, then gently nodded and said, "My ancestors passed down a tale that this jade's earliest owner was the great lord of the Mou Shui region and its surrounding states, King of Yau, Ci Hu, five hundred years ago. King of Yau, Ci Hu was notorious for his cruelty and tyranny, committing countless atrocities. By chance, he came into possession of this ancient jade and discovered dragon markings on its surface, which delighted him immensely. His subordinates then told him that this ancient jade was a treasure bestowed upon him by heaven and should be nourished with the purest water from the mortal realm. 0

Ci Hu asked, 'What is the purest water in the world?' His subordinates replied, 'Heaven and Earth Walking Objects possess the purest roots, and thus their bloodline must be the purest water.' Overjoyed, Ci Hu ordered a lake to be dug and drained the blood of thousands of commoners into it before placing the white jade into the lake. After forty-nine days, when he retrieved the jade, he found that the dragon markings had turned a vivid red, resembling a blood dragon. King of Yau was overjoyed and declared it his most treasured possession. However, he was later killed by rebel forces, and his 'blood dragon' jade vanished without a trace. My ancestors were personal guards to Ci Hu, so it is likely they acquired the jade during the chaos of war." 0

Upon hearing Li Changjiang's account, Sun Man's eyes lit up as he remarked, "If that's the case, then this jade shouldn't belong to you." 0
