Ye Fangfei poured out the money and organized it.
"My mother gave me some, and my older brother and brother each gave me five." She continued, "The rest is from my friends as gifts. I have a record of the gifts, and I’ll give it to you later." Tang Zhicheng watched Ye Fangfei count the money.
Ye Fangfei nodded; it was only right. Even though she received a lot of money, others with children also had to give gifts in return. Therefore, whether it was for joyous or solemn occasions, gift records were essential.
Tang Zhicheng had thirty-eight here, and once Ye Fangfei finished counting, she combined it with her own money.
"You have thirty-eight here, and I have ten over there," she said. "That makes a total of ninety-seven. I’ll deposit eighty tomorrow, and keep the remaining ninety-seven for pocket money."
"Alright, do as you see fit. Spend the money freely; no need to hold back. I’ll need to open an account in a few days," Tang Zhicheng replied.
Ye Fangfei was very pleased with Tang Zhicheng's attitude; she had little respect for men who constantly told their wives to save money.
She gathered the money together and placed the passbook into the drawer of her desk. She planned to deposit the money tomorrow and hide the passbook afterward; for now, this would do.
Once everything was tidied up, Ye Fangfei and Tang Zhicheng exchanged glances, both feeling a bit awkward.
Finally, it was Tang Zhicheng who broke the silence. "Wife, are you tired? Why don’t you lie down and rest for a bit?"
Ye Fangfei was taken aback by the term "wife."
"W-what did you call me?" she stammered.
"I called you my wife! Aren't you my wife?" Tang Zhicheng said matter-of-factly, repeating the word "wife" twice.
"What are you shouting about? Be quiet!" She stepped forward to cover Tang Zhicheng's mouth.
Tang Zhicheng didn’t shy away; he let her hand cover his mouth while standing there with a smile. He even stuck out his tongue to lick Ye Fangfei's palm.
Ye Fangfei felt as if she had been scalded and quickly withdrew her hand.
"You... You..." Ye Fangfei struggled to find her words after a long pause.
"What’s wrong? We’re married now; you’re my wife." Tang Zhicheng took a step forward and embraced Ye Fangfei in his arms.
Ye Fangfei struggled slightly, but she couldn't break free; instead, Tang Zhicheng held her even tighter. She softened her body and allowed him to embrace her.
After a while, just as Ye Fangfei was growing impatient and considering using more force to escape, Tang Zhicheng made a move. He first leaned down tentatively to kiss her forehead. Seeing that Ye Fangfei didn't react, he continued down to her nose, then her cheek, and finally landed on her lips.
Ye Fangfei reminded herself that they were already married, and Tang Zhicheng met all her expectations of a boyfriend and husband. Since they had known each other, he had truly cared for her. Whether it was opening a joint bank account or remembering to buy her clothes when he was out of town, all of this deepened Ye Fangfei's fondness for him bit by bit.
She had to admit that she had long been smitten with Tang Zhicheng. Therefore, she felt no aversion to his kiss; in fact, she found herself enjoying it. However, Tang Zhicheng was a bit clumsy and only knew how to hold her and nibble at her lips without any technique.
To prevent him from accidentally hurting her lips, Ye Fangfei decided to take the initiative and guide him into a French kiss. It was as if Tang Zhicheng had been opened up to a whole new world; he embraced her even more passionately.
